Use flashtool.
Look up in neo development thread.
Sent from my MT11i using XDA App
yes it will help you , You can use SE PC companion/Update service to restore everything back(stock)(wipes everything except SD-card) , it does not need mass storage.
Yes you can retain root even on latest firmware.
or
if you want any deleted boltware file i can provide you the apk files....
or
You can also use CWM recovery to revert back to stock , by restoring nandroid backup (provided in post 2 of [NEO V] ALL IN ONE thread) , but you should do full wipe (system data , cache )
of these the best option is PC companion/Update service (stable & reliable)
Well i used Wotan Server and all is fine now
I did lose my root tho
And vimjam yes lease do [provide me with a list of the bloatware which i can remove without messing up
Ad from now on i'll make periodic backups
Thanks for all your help guys
sure ill provide the bloatware list soon....
here this thread has got good description on bloatware....

I messed up removing bloatware too I guess, because I don't have mass storage either. It would be great to know why. Anyway ALWAYS make, it saves time and headaches.

Hi I am in desperate need clean official rom that i can install with xRecovery. I need it because the micro usb port has broken on my x10 and i have to send it back to SE. Can the rom also not be rooted and if possible uninstall xRecovery!
Before anybody says it I can not reflash my phone as i can not connect it to my PC :/
Please Help!
How are you going to put the ROM on...?
Download file from phone and then install with xRecovery
You still need to connect to a PC to unroot your phone after if I'm not mistaken.

Yes but if i install a clean rom then it would have no trace of my phone been rooted
What about superuser

There is no need if he has a card reader,
anyway,
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=9134882&postcount=1
at the most bottom links, there are 2, Full and Lite, download the full version, install it using xRecovery and find an application called Z4root (or was it 4zroot, something like that) and unroot your phone using that app.
click thanks if it works.
And to everyone else... For crying out loud, if you're not planning on helping jimlimb95, don't bother posting at all.
I was trying to help just did not know how to unroot without the pc. I was also pm'd this. Hope this helps also

if your realy stuck and are sending the phone away you could always delete some important files so the phone will not boot at all then when they fix the phone reflash using SEUS
Thanks for all the ideas guys but they all need me to connect my phone to my computer!
The way that i will have to fix it is using root explorer to delete all of the xRecovery files and busy box. And then i will need to use z4root to unroot my device
Thanks for the ideas you help

He can't connect to PC thats the problem
I've got a similar problem, but I just want to update my phone to the latest baseband version ...
Is there anyway to flash without connecting my phone to the PC ?
Regards.
you need a 2.1 stock rom, somebody to use xrecovery and make a backup for you, they will need to zip it, send it to you via dropbox or simular, download it with your phone, unzip it, place the 2.1 backup in xrecovery/backup folder on sdcard, then just use xrecovery to restore, finally un-root your phone.
I can not do it for you my friend as i am on the wrong baseband and testing other roms-good luck.
kX10 Custom SE ROM
You just need the offline charge patch
i am in the exact same position as you i have flashed uk generic so i could update to 2.1 but the usb port has broken and i cannot flash to vodafone uk so i can send it off to repair
use update service fix you system
like the OP our usb ports are broken so we cant connect to our pc/laptop
maybe you should download and install from market
the free application adbwireless. (or one like that)
that will allow you to connect to pc by wifi
and then --> flashtool
(but one question, how do you charge your phone if your micro-usb doesn't work?)
good luck
Can anybody provide me nandroid backup of your phone
Coz i hav lost my backup and want to get bck to stock rom
Kdz not working for me
seems no one interested to help
For nandroid backup, you need to have custom recovery up and running. If you have that then, just download one of the custom Roms like void and flash it..

nandroid backups also contain contacts and messages and stuff so people will be relucant to provide you with one. You can try by flashing a basic rom that has no modifications, for example, amber rom which was the first for our phone, and then flash the sapps package from void. If you want to take the phone to warranty services then modify the build.prop to remove the name of "amber rom" and then unroot.
Sometimes phone doesnt get detected by kdz updater in emergency mode...u have to try many times.

There was a Nand backup of official rom floating around in o1 section, a few months back. May be you can search for it.
If somebody takes some pain, it can be done without any private info. A person having a Nand backup of official rom can restore it first. Then one has to do factory reset. And then finally a Nand backup of this factory reset rom.
This last Nand backup then can be uploaded and shared with others. This will not contain any private info.
I will try to do it in a day or too. If somebody else can volunteer to help, he is most welcome.

Hi,
I have an xperia active, and I'm going to root it; have anyone any tips/ things to do before rooting?
I was thinking about backup firmware/kernel, but i found that is possible only if you have root permissions, is it correct?
As you can immagine I'm a bit worried about voiding warranty (my phone is 2 weeks old now), so I'm trying to understand how to backup everything in case I've to revert to a stock phone.
Any help would be greatly appreciated

CWM is only possible with cwm installed (needs rooted phone or unlocked bootloader).
So you want to backup the original ftf file (all files+kernel)?
There should be a repair option in pc companion and it will download the whole firmware again in a folder on your pc. This is the original firmware, so try this
Copies of stock firmware and kernel are already out there.
Just download that, flashtool and read how to use it in case something goes wrong
Thank you all,
now I'm more prone to root my phone
As expected, is impossible to backup firmware/kernel directly before rooting, but the repair option in pc companion is very interesting way to download official relases.

Hello there!
I have a problem with my phone. I recently unlocked my Xperia Sola MT72i bootloader. The process was successful then i was eager to flash it with a new custom ROM i found on the internet. I was able to do so, but then, there came this consequence. My 32GB microSD is not anymore recognized. Whenever i reboot the device, a message on the notification bar will always show up. It says about "sending a lot of messages" and it also features the sdcard icon and then few minutes after boot up, a notification box will pop up on the screen that says, "Sorry, memory has stopped". I have a lot of data saved on the sdcard but it can only be accessed using a file manager installed, which is, on my phone, its Astro. MP3's, Videos, and Pictures wont show up on stock media applications. I have to access Astro file manager in order to see the data. And also on the Storage Menu, im can only see the phone memory and internal memory details. I hope i could get a solution for this. If there's a need to re-flash a new ROM, i'd be happy to do so.

Hi guys,
I'm using Xperia sola rooted phone with 4.0 and I was installing metamorph - lock theme and the phone restarted and it is going in an endless loop of resarts.
It's possible to put the phone completely off by using power & volume key combo, also i can put the device under flashboot and fastboot mode.
Kindly tell me a way outta this !!
I won't be getting a cell phone for another year I guess

Do you have CWM and if you do does it have adb?

CWM isnt installed on my xperia sola sadly
This is the theme file : "droidpirate.com/2011/09/14/metamorph-droid-bionic-lock-slider-bionic/"
prior to this, an app named metamorph was installed.
I can put the device in flashboot/fastboot though!
Any chances that I can recover the phone?

If you bootloader is unlocked you can try flash a kernel with CWM that support adb.
If not, do you have the FTF file for the firmware that is currently installed?
I would try at first flashing system.sin only from the firmware FTF, no wipes everything else expluded.
You will lose root and other modes copied directly to /system but you should have data intact.

Well no CWM installed & I haven't done the unlocking of bootloader yet.
Yeah I do have these two files in my flashtool firmware folder which I used :

For root didn't you just had to install kernel .10 over .54 firmware no?
Anyway the system from the one that is flashed now you the only one that knows which, I am guessing .54
