Don't know what happened on my Touchpad, but now whenever I use Google, the screen is in French. I found a dropdown at the bottom of a page that allowed me to change back to English, but every time I leave and then return to Google it's in French again.
Any ideas how to fix this?
Thanks
I guess your setting is stuck using google.fr. I did a bit of work on how to change the default Google search on WebOS here - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1274494
Thanks for the link. That helped. It was hard to figure out with the screens in French, but it is sorted out now.

Hi all. Thanks for the site. Hope to help out here when I can. I just moved over from the "X" to Razr, and I have a couple of questions/problems.
When I have a new text message in the notification bar up to and try and open it, the screen goes back to the stock lock screen. What is even more weird about it is that I have Widget Locker installed and enabled. My second problem is that I have Swift Key X installed but every time I go to type something I have to go to input method and re-enable it every time otherwise it keeps returning to the stock keyboard. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.
For your first problem, it's normal. You have to disable the stock lockscreen itself. WL won't cancel the lockscreen. There are a few apps on the market that will do that, so just go search.
I'm not too sure about the second though. Try going under Settings -> Language and Keyboards, and change the input method?
Thanks. Found one called "no lock". Seems to be working so far. I don't really understand why I have to have that with the Razr, but never neded it with the X. Oh well. If it works who cares right?
Now I gotta figure out what's up with the keyboard.
Hello everyone.
I've recently bought my dad the prime with a keyboard dock and I can't find a quick and easy way to change the input language of the keyboard when it's docked.
There is an option to change the device's language to our local one (Hebrew if that matters), but then it changes everything to Hebrew.
I just want the device's language to be English and have something like alt+shift to switch between the languages when it's docked.
However, so far it's either stuck on English (if the device's language is set to English), or alternates randomly between Hebrew and English (probably depends on the context of the text) with no real way to change it.
Is this a known issue? Is there a way to solve this?
Well, apparently ctrl+space does the trick when the keyboard is docked, at least for me.

Click to collapse
if you go to ASUS keyboard setting, and only check Hebrew keyboard (without English Keyboard), you can simply switch back and forth between English and Hebrew by pressing alt key which is right next to space bar.
when alt key is pressed, it shows which keyboard has activated via little dialog box on the center of the screen.
This is the control + shift hassle free of doing it.
Hi,
I tried to get Chinese handwriting keyboard on my new Nexus 9. Installed the Google Pinyin Input keyboard, installation went ok; but when go to setting -> Language & Input, I just dont see the new Google Pinyin Input keyboard option. Only has the default Google Keyboard.
on my old Nexus 10, I dont have this issue. Any idea what went wrong?
oops, got it sorted.
apparently i go to the setting and change my tab language to Chinese, then the new keyboard show up. And then i just switch back the tab language to English, Voila.
Hi guys, I'm currently on the lollipop (rooted of course )build but my issue is not version related.
It involves the predictive spelling suggestions when typing. I have this problem that a lot of words were added that's misspelled so this leads to me using them a lot of times over and over again. I want to either open the list end edit them or, failing that, delete it totally and start afresh, this time trying to spell correctly. (yeah, right!) Even though the dictionary works, it has now been contaminated with misspelled words and when typing on the fly, or in a hurry, the misspelled words gets the prominent suggestion spot in the middle and then you tend to select it....
Hope my brief explanation makes sense. Let me know if I need to explain anything else or even try to add screen shots.
Nevermind, I'm such a lazy ass! I found it!
If you go to phone settings - Language & Input - Xperia Keyboard - Use my writing style - My words.
Voila!! There is the list and you can delete everything or just the ones that's wrong!
I have the new keyboard book cover with my Tab s4. The input language is set to UK but keys like the pound sign and @ sign are not mapped to the appropriate keys. Is there a driver issue or am I missing something?
Thanks
I don't see that issue here, but I'm English US on my end. I did switch to UK English, and I see what you're saying that's odd. I kind of understand the pound (# vs £), but the @ issue seems super strange to me. Have you reached out to Samsung? There might need to be some kind of software update from their end.
For that matter, I hope they drop the "Shift+Space" for language selection. There's already a language key, so aside from it being pointless, it messes me up a lot when I don't let go of Shift fast enough after typing "I". I thought I was going crazy for a bit until I figured that out. lol
I assume the book cover is the original one from Samsung so in order to set up the proper layout check the settings "General management / Language and input/ language/ English (united kingdom)" that the language is English (United Kindgom). Also, go to the physical keyboard "General management / Language and input/ language/Physical Keyboard/ Samsung Keyboard (Uk)". That's the way I have it and works flawlessly. Let me know if that works.
I thought this thread was about actual key remapping. I'd love to remap that language key to something more useful, like getting to the home screen. I'd also like to remap the language shortcut, ctrl+space. And lastly, I keep hitting ] instead of backspace, and it's driving me nuts. Any idea if these keys are remappable?
This app might help, there's a free demo version.
