[Q] Selling TP, need to do full restore - TouchPad General

I'm selling my Touchpad, it's running 3.04 with the hack and preware. I'd like to at least wipe my info & make it so the new owner can set up their own HP account, ideally I'd like to do a full restore to 3.04, stock configuration.
How exactly do I do? I don't see a thread devoted to the subject & don't want to mess anything up.

Go to the hp support site and download the webos doctor. Run that and you're done. How much for the touchpad?

Go into settings-device information-reset options-then either do a full erase or a secure full erase.
If you want a completely clean slate, do a search for Doctor webOS, you'll find step-by-step instructions in how to use it. I've never had to do it so I can't give you any personal feedback.
If you're selling it to get an android tablet, consider cm7. It's in alpha3 now, and for me, anyway, it's running as well as anything out there. Plus you have the advantage of dual-booting. Just my .02 cents .....

I bought it at fire sale price, I've sold it at fire sale price, lol, I want good hardware karma.
It'll kill me to restore this thing to stock but the person buying it is totally clueless about this stuff and I don't want to be their tech support person for life.

The HP Touchpad Demo Unit (OLD)

Well I bought the last touchpad in my area (after ordering from BB online and getting a backordered email) and it is the demo model which will not let me set up a webos account or anything. I read over in the pre forums about it and posted there as well but was hoping maybe someone here might know a way around this?
I am calling HP tomorrow because I read that the serial numbers are locked to a demo unit in case of theft and they can remove the lock so you can use it normally (crossing fingers) but I really do not know till they open tomorrow. I called the WebOS number included in the box and they said to exchange it for another one (I laughed) and then they said to just return it. I really want to have one of these things to play with so any help is really appreciated.
Waiting till the touchandroid thing comes out might not help since I have to return it within 14 days I believe for them to give me my money back. I would have to have a perfectly working tablet to keep it rather than spending $150 on a demo unit that wont work.
Hoping for help

Or, buy one from here (16GB for $99 with $5 shipping) and when you get a tracking number, return the one you have for a refund.
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0056UOUC8
Thanx for the link but on my end they are all showing as $415.53 and up - even on the right hand side of the page where amazon keeps other sellers. Lowest priced one says $234.98.
I am still hoping HP will fix this.

Yeah, sorry man. the price was $100, but that company appears to have sold out. The name has changed which is weird that Amazon would have the same link for a different company.

Very nice! Now if we could get to register webos accounts, we wouldnt need HP anymore
I may do this later today after seeing if HP will fix the demo units or not. Still might keep it, I don't know yet.
The activation bypass works to an extent. You can get past the webos login, and enable developer privs to add homebrewed apps thru preware, but it seems very unlikely that you can sideload the apps only available through the login app store. At least you can web browse and watch movies and such on it. If anyone knows how to get non homebrewed apps on it, i would like to know. For now, i think its worth the value, even for the demo unit, to wait for android port.

Just spoke with someone at the 1-866-477-3824 number and she told me I am basically out of luck. She is transferring me to tech support now to see if they know of a way to do it but it is looking like HP is gonna be pricks and not release the serials. She told me the serial numbers for demo units are set to not allow the webos account creation and access so if they wanted to, they could release them it seems.
Ok tech support just hung up on me - gotta love it.
WebOS account
OK well I was doing some thinking and can think of 2 possible ways to fix the app problem. 1 is impostah and changing everything we can to clone a non demo touchpad. This will hopefully fool them into allowing us to create or log into an account. If this doesn't work my second idea is a better app repository to put apps onto it. Since HP is discontinuing it's work on the webOS we will likely have a need for the repository eventually.
I know there is the homebrew repository but one that also has apps from the official store would be awesome. An all in one app store that is completely free and open. Would be a first to some degree on the mobile platform. I would set this up but I can't access the app store so wouldn't be able to contact Devs and such about putting their apps onto it.
This is basically PreWare. Except it wouldn't fly because of all the warez. PreWare is fine for now. Put your effort into that since it is already going strong.
preware
Preware just doesn't have very many (useful) apps available.

I have found a way to Create a WEBOS account after going into Developer mode. Now i am using WEBOSDoctor to reinstall WebOS 3.0.2 and will try logining in with the account I Just creadted. I can log into the WEBOS site online through HP's website which it didnt allow me to do earlier. Will keep everyone posted!
IT WORKED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I took everyone's work so far and went a step further so I am taking as much credit as everyone else who managed to crack this! I first flashed it using WEBOSDoctor to 3.0.2. Then i used the devicetool.jar to put it into Developer mode. Then I used Preware to install Impostah. I then used Impostah to create a WEBOS account. Reflashed it to 3.0.2 using WEBOSDoctor and logged in with the WEBOS account I had just created! Then once up I launched the HP APP STORE and it came up with an error. I closed it out waited a few more minutes and the loaded it again and quickly tapped on the Categories tab at the bottom. Clicked on Games and Installed Angry Birds. WE HAVE ALL CRACKED THIS AND NO LONGER NEED TO FIGHT WITH HP OR RETURN OUR UNITS TO THE STORES! GREAT JOB EVERYONE INVOLVED!

Confirmed this worked!!!, but in a different manner. I didn't use Impostah to accomplish the fix.
1) Went to https://developer.palm.com/
2) Signed up for Developers Account (disregard paypal memo)
3) Fill out info (first name, last name, email), click continue.
4) Check your e-mail, and validate your WEBOS developers account.
5) From registration page, fill out e-mail address, create a pw, and choose/create a security question; Continue.
6) Fill out Contact Information; Continue.
7) Once you reach Tax Info page, just close your page (you might be able to earlier than this, but I went that far and it worked).
Your account is "kinda" created.
8) Turn on HP Touchpad (you might have to follow Mattatha's instructions above), and get to WEBOS login screen. Choose Create Profile, and type in the same Name, E-mail, password, security question as you created earlier.
Note* I tried clicking Sign In on my HP Touchpad after doing steps 1-7, but it still didn't seem to work, but step #8 got me in, and able to use the app store.
Verify your login my going to Device Info.
Enjoy your HP Touchpad Demo with full capabilities!
Called the store i got it from and they told me if I try this they will not take it back. They said if HP won't help, I can get a refund unless I try to hack around the demo stuff.
If I try this and it does not work for me, is there a way to put the demo software back on and remove everything else?

RadioShark - they said if it is not in the same condition they do not have to take it as a return.
I may give this a shot, just wish I knew if the one I ordered from BB was gonna ship (won't let me cancel anymore but still says "Order Status: 1 item(s) - Order in process of being fulfilled; Usually ships in null - null days."), if so, I would return this in a heartbeat.
If I do try it then the wife would have to let me keep both of them if the BB one ships too LOL If she doesn't kill me, then she would get to keep both
Trying to figure out how to do the preware and impostah thing right now - if I figure it out, I think I will try that way to see how it goes. I am afraid the developer accounts may get cancelled after a certain period of time without having the paypal and tax info in them (I don't know if this will happen, I am just thinking it may).
You guys/gals/people/aliens are awesome for figuring this stuff out! Came here for my Droid Eris and have Cyanogenmod on it now Awesome site!

Need a good writer to write a petition to B&N (read inside)

English isn't my first language, otherwise I'd write one myself.
I'm looking for a good english writer to write a petition to B&N to provide the development community with an ability to access the bootloader and root the device.
I think main points should be that they've made a lot of money by allowing people to mod original NC, and that this will greatly increase the interest in purchasing the NT. Also, worth mentioning some examples of devices like Captivate that really benefited from custom community development (improved GPS, fixed many bugs, early GB port, etc).
Basically persuade B&N to support and appreciate development community and give us means to develop for them.
Needless to mention, only use words like "develop", "improve", etc... not "hack" and "crack" lol.
Here's the site I found where we can collect signatures:
http://www.makeuseof.com/dir/petitionspotcom/
POST IT HERE first, then we'll go and make it official.
PS: before anybody goes all "they ain't gonna listen yo" - let me remind you of Samsung's support to SuperCurio about improving Galaxy S's sound processing. After community asked Samsung, they actually provided full support and helped SuperCurio improve the device.
Providing a device and documentation is VERY different from unlocking a bootloader, unfortunately...

Indeed, but I think my point remains - this is another avenue of "attack" to get B&N to support us.
Our hackers are approaching this from technical side, I want to try and help and organize a line of communication with B&N and see if we can get them to help us.
Get your petition up and I'll sign! I was going to get a NT but now I'm not so sure. If it can't run from a dual booting SD card, it's just not worth it. Might as well pony up and get a "real" tablet.
Assuming the bootloader is proven to be locked, I'm simply taking mine back. The apps I use on the Nook Color *must* be available on the Nook Tablet, or it's not worth my money.
I hate to say it, but I'm in the same boat. I bought it because of what was accomplished with the NC and because of B&N's assurances that the same would be possible with the NT.

agreed. i'm a little confused. I get the SD boot issue being a problem, but I haven't come across any apps that I use that couldn't be sideloaded.
maybe i'm just old and don't use some of the stuff you guys use?
I really enjoy the NT but don't know how long I will keep it if I constantly have to use workarounds to get any functionality out of it.
No custom kernels / ROMs
No Android Market
No settings page
No root (so far at least)
Nook button opens Nook launcher only
i dunno, I guess I'm just more patient than most. I really didn't expect to buy it and have it as functional as it is already, leave alone rooted or installing custom roms. I expected that in a few months....
I'm just glad I could install a real browser, and have access to install the apks i wanted.

Well, all of the Google apps install fine, but when I try to sign in to my account or associate it my account with the tablet, it tells me my user name or password is wrong. So effectively, I can't use any of the Google apps. I can log in to my google account in the browser, and access the web versions of the apps, but....what I was looking for really was to be able to put the ROM I wanted on it.
Add me to the list of those with a clock ticking. Picked mine up on the 16th, and it stays wrapped until we know if the NT can be rooted - or day 14 - whichever comes first.
Progress is great so far - but I don't want a device that can be locked down with any random update from B&N. Based on their earlier broken promises, they have about zero credibility for things said.
Let me retract my line about broken promises - that was Amazon that promised no rooting roadblocks - and they kept to their word. I don't think B&N made any statement about this.
A petition is good, for sure. But it doesn't hurt if everyone also contacted B&N [[email protected]] and explained personally and sincerely why it would be in their best interest to unlock the Tablet. I'd focus on how their specs are superior, but useless if they're not open. I'd mention the limited space for side-loading, and enabling 3rd party apps.
I'd remind them how popular their Nook Color got, and free press, when the NC was rooted. And use the MS Kinect & Linksys WRT-54G as examples of success stories when a company adopts and opens their hardware.
I thought everyone knows that e-petition is totally worthless. Actually, it's worse than worthless, since it gives you a false sense of complacency.
If rooting is that important to you, then take more effort than the few keyclicks to fill out an e-petition.
Take your purchased NT to the nearest B&N store. Return it, and make sure you give the reason why it's being returned, that the NT is hostile to tech enthusiasts. Say that you'll now consider the Kindle Fire because of its more tech-friendly mindset (whether that's true or not). Say that given your status as the go-to tech dude, you'll recommend against the NT for any who asks.
Ask to speak to a manager or a tech specialist; you don't want your words wasted on a grunt. Be polite but firm at all times.
Money speaks the loudest. Let your money speak for you. Buy something else.

If everyone were to do what you're saying, B&N would lose 3% of NT's total sales (judging by statistics someone referenced here), call it within a sales estimation margin of error and ignore it.
And we'd all be left without a $250 tablet, or with a ****tier one.
Sorry, don't like your solution. It'd only work if, say, 25%+ of NT buyers wanted root.
And you think e-petitions are better? Good luck with that.
There are different ways to communicate. Some more effective, some less. E-petition is at the bottom of the heap, followed by e-mail.
Money--ie making vendor lose money with refunds--is the most powerful method of persuasion. Sure, there may not be enough people to make the vendor reconsider, but it beats moping around and twirling your thumbs, hoping the vendor will change its mind with some dumb e-petition, no?
BTW, techies have an outsized influence on vendor decisions, as long as they know the proper buttons to push. B&N right now is in a battle with Amazon for e-readers. Saying that you'll get a Kindle Fire, and will recommend everyone to do so, is a big button you can push. Forcing the vendor to lose money with refunds is another.
In any case, if your envisioned use is a rooted NT, then this isn't it, so why hang onto it? If/when the NT is rooted, you can always buy it again.

People have different reasons.
For one, if I were to call for mass returns of NT, that'd greatly decrease interest in rooting the NT, which makes it even worse. If you decided NT is not for you and u want KF - godspeed, I'm sure you've got your reasons.
And no, petitions are NOT worthless. Not with decent companies. As I've mentioned, ask SuperCurio and his collaboration with Samsung.
I, for one, had a $100 gift card for B&N, so it's $150 NT versus $200 KF for me. Regardless, even without that giftcard, I'd still not go for KF when there's NT around, cause KF is just gimped and kinda useless.
Regardless, can we please return to the topic of this thread - I'm looking for someone's help writing a letter to B&N asking them for help achieving root for developers.
>If you decided NT is not for you and u want KF - godspeed, I'm sure you've got your reasons.
I've no interest in the KF, and for now, the NT. But it doesn't hurt to tell B&N that I consider their competition to be better, for persuasion purposes.
>And no, petitions are NOT worthless. Not with decent companies.
"not with decent companies"..
Life's experience isn't something that can be told, I suppose. Good luck with your quixotic quest. Please do keep the NT past the return period, and make B&N happy.

Poll : Do you want to run Android *within* WebOS as a card?

All,
As you might have seen in thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1288155&page=17
The Chroid release never really got past 0.1 alpha and appears to have died..
Shame as I see a real need for this, like many others I really like WEBOS, its not perfect but works fine, battery life is AWESOME and the native touchpad apps are well writtern..
However with the general android cm7/miui progress/webos now opensourced Im not surprised some developers dont think this is a worthwhile project.. so i thought we simply need to convince a developer its a worthwhile project
Also perhaps maybe someone from opemmobile would contribute towards an opensource project? or themselves re-invigorate this, they originally planned a webos port... (see http://openmobileww.com/smartphone.php)
So to start with I thought Id start this POLL thread, if your interested vote, would you pay for it? $5-$10 sounds reasonable? or more?
Please keep this thread simply for the poll, for general chit chat use the original thread above.
edit : Just to be clear, Im not skilled enough to make this happen but I thought starting this thread, waiting to see the replies we should be able to rouse the interest of a "skilled" developer...
edit : This link is to OpenMobileWW who demo'd ACL on WebOS as a card and looked awesome http://news.mobileroundup.com/2012/01/ces-is-open-mobile-what-webos-has-been-waiting-for/
I'm definitely interested in such an app. I used a Palm Pre- for a couple of years and really learned to love WebOS. I constantly switch back between it and CM7 or one of its flavors depending upon what I want to do. I use WebOS for my email and work, but switch to CM7 for games and other apps. $10 is more than reasonable (I'd pay up to $50 but I think that's too high to sustain a market).
I'd be interested, and I'd be willing to pay $5, maybe $10 depending on how well it emulates within webOS.
Please delete this post, I missed the part about not posting in here. My apologies.

No worries.
i like webos faar better than android.. new to both but no contest really..
the advantage for android is apps apps apps..
it would be great if there was any way that android could function as a card..
would android still have to boot up as a card or would it be instant like a webos
function..
the android os makes TP way more functional-- wireless non-hp printer support..
games.. on and on..
thanx
could you maybe be thinking about this backwards? What you actually want out of the android window is quickly getting to the android apps right? wouldn't it work faster to do what crackberry is doing and just making the android market work within the webos?
getting android apps working within WebOS is what we're after here,, not getting the Android OS working within WebOs.. thats different
I would definitely be interested, I like webos's smoothness but android has sooo many apps, I would prolly pitch in more than that , its a really good idea, and I think anybody can spare 10 bucks

I voted for yes I would pay. I want to explain that a bit. I love XDA and the developers here are amazing. This lot can do things most users only imagine, and more often than not, for free.
On that note, I like WebOS too. Its smooth, little slow but intuitive. I cant find my way around an Ipad but 10 seconds on my touchpad, my very first WebOS device, I have wifi running and was bookmarking XDA. If Android ran smoothly in a card there would be no turning back.
I cant wait to see what happens, lets make it happen!
I love webOS so much more than Android but I'm running Android due to Netflix, etc.
#sentfrommycm7desirehd
Same here if I could I'd rather use WebOS than Android but I still have problems with things like YouTube being slow, and videos stutter, etc.
i'd pay for this
google music would be so good with this
Although I like both systems, I would like to see an effective Android app on a card. I have much more experience with Android but Webos just seems nicer to work with.
I would pay a reasonable price for this, $10-20 bucks.

Is this running the android os in a card, or running android apps in a card?

How much work would it be/how much would it be worth to get X11 working on android or to make surfaceflinger etc. work on webos?
I'm already invested in android, I wouldn't mind paying $10 or more to get android apps (or all of android, including apps) on webos. It'd be more sensible even than paying for SPBShell
How many touchpad users have stuck with webOS d'you reckon?
Well as good as X-ron/Cyanogen & MIUI are on the touchpad I still find WEBOS to be so much better as a tablet OS. Maybe it's just the ability to flick cards away just makes android seem a tad clunky at this point. So long as an Virtual Android isn't expensive I'd probably pay for it... unless ICS is amazing
Honestly my first intention for my touchpad was to root it with android. However, i find myself not even using android on it. I love the webOS interface soooooo much more than andorid, but I hate that it lack the apps. This is where my rooted nookCOLOR comes in. I can count the amount of time I have actually booted into android on the touchpad besides for setting it up to mirror my nookCOLOR settings.
I do like webos but I feel like its like a sexy chick wearing a chastity belt.. looks good but you can't do anything with it.. I don't think I've logged into webos once in the last 3 months.. there's no reason to. Android I s way more functional.. for me at least. Android in a card would take the chastity belt off this biatch.. :-D

What? As opposed to simply pressing home and not having to worry about the app anymore?

[Q] cant deregister

I bought a nook tablet on craigslist and well i cant register it.. i called B&N its blacklisted. I been doing all the research I can think of to see if i can still use it jailbroken as this is a gift for my 14 year old son for christmas. If anyone can advice me or redirect me in the right direction that would be great. Its a NOOK Tablet with version 1.4.1. Im hoping this thing is not a paperweight now.
I have a microsd card ready to do everything I need.
Well if you want to use it with the stock rom, just as a reader, you have contact to contact the previous store or owner and ask it to deregister the NT from the B&N web page so you will be able to register it under your account.
If not you can make an micro sd bootable with CM10 and use the NT as a tablet.
Check the developer section there are some threads about hkw to create a bootae sd card and how to install CM10 in internal memory, I cannot post links from my phone sorry.
Good luck.

This is why I'm glad I bought mine from the store using my brother's ex's employee discount. Caveat emptor.
Your best bet is to contact B&N abut it.

Initially I would contact who you bought it from and let them know it was reported stolen and it is blacklisted. If not an option at this point eat the loss or load CM10 on it. Once you load CM10 B&N is out of the picture and it functions essentially like a Nexus(relax people I said LIKE a Nexus ). There are plenty of threads telling you HOW to install CM10. Use the search button or hell just go through the forums. In the future all questions need to be posted in Q&A also.
Do you mean that you can't get off the initial registration page? There was a way to get past that. Look in Google for nook tablet out of the box experience. It bypasses the registration screen but I don't think you can use the store.
get bootable cwm and flash cyanogenmod. Way better IMO

Root on Asus TF701T?

Has anyone been able to root the new Asus Transformer yet? I've tried all the one-click methods but none of them worked.
There's no dedicated forum yet too the TF701, so thought I would ask here...

As it is not available at the moment in a lot of countries: No at the moment. But there is an app to unlock Bootloader and the Kernel Source Code to download directly from Asus website, so I am hoping it will come soon

First thing would be to get a tf701t forum. I am getting one of these or the new nexus 10, depending on development for this. If there is any seriousdevelopment by Xmas, then iI'll get one, if not it get the nexus.

I just drove to New York yesterday to buy the TF701T and I must say that this version is like night and day compared to the TF700T. It is very snappy out of the box whereas the TF700T was sluggish and slow before I actually unlocked the boot loader and put cyanogenmod on it. For the TF701T, I will probably root it just for SU but I will probably keep the stock Rom because it is really smooth.

Agreed, I just received my TF701 from Amazon yesterday and right out of the box it blows my TF700 out of the water. Barely any slowdown while downloading and installing apps whereas the 700 would grind to a halt. Dock arriving today, hopefully Asus solved the dock battery draining issue as well. Root would be nice for apps like Titanium Backup but this is my first Android device - and I've owned a lot of them - that I might be happy with totally stock.

Mine is Rooted, with CWM Recovery. And it was actually a simple procedure.
I can tell you that before you even think about proceeding, you will need to have your device unlocked. That can be found at Asus's web site. In their download section, I'm sure.
Next, you'll need to make sure that your PC/Laptop can see your device. My Win7 setup saw it already as a "K00C", or some such thing, but if yours doesn't, then get the "Sync" util from Asus and install it on your PC. It'll install the drivers with it. But then go back and uninstall the Sync util. The drivers will be left on your system.
Before connecting your device, make sure to disable all Anti-Virus, Anti-Mal/Spyware from any and all Real Time scanning. Also completely disable any and all firewalls you have installed. If you haven't installed any, then guess what? Windows Firewall is still running, so disable it!
You will also need to use a USB 2.0 and not 3.0 port on your computer to connect your device to. Why? I don't know man, just do it!
Do NOT connect your device yet! You're just getting ready here!
Next you'll need the little mini ADB &FastBoot setup. You're going to have to use that to do it (it's in the video where to get it and how to use it). If he doesn't tell you where to get it from in the video, then I think this guy has a link to it:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2516215
Heck, maybe that's where I got it from. I just remember that it's the "mini" version. The "just needed stuff" one.
Then go and watch the video in the link below. It's too wordy and doesn't even tell you what web sites he's looking at, so really, who cares what Josh would do (you'll get that later)?
In fact, maybe I got tired of the video and just found the guys page that I linked to above and followed that and that's where the "who cares what Josh would do" joke sticks in my head. That does sound more logical. <lol>
Either way, read through this and try that guys page, or the video first. I do know that by doing what I said in this message and using one of those two sources, you WILL get Rooted! That's a FACT! I'm sorry about this. It's just that it's been a couple of weeks since I did it and I didn't write it all down like I should have.
But here's the web sites he's looking at in the video (have them already open before starting the video):
CWM Page: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2621051
CWM File: http://droidbasement.com/asus/tf701t/recovery/
Video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3IBN1YkBp3g
Now there's stuff I'm missing in here. I probably didn't bookmark everything, but whatever I missed here, was in the video, so don't worry.
Note: Someone mentioned somewhere about keeping Recovery intact when installing a ROM, or a reset, etc.. CWM has a setting for that. It keeps the recovery intact through that stuff. I remember it kept staying on me one time when I wanted to go back to factory to sell the device and then I went into the settings and saw that one, which is enabled by default, so don't worry about that anymore.
One thing; It says in the video that you have to be at JB 4.3 first. That's correct, so update. There is one available through your device's "Software Update" thingy.
One thing that is incorrect, is when he says; "You must be at such and such version of this thing" (whatever it was), which is related to your version of JB 4.3. Yours won't be. Now yer scared, uh?
Don't worry about that. It's not true! It'll work just fine! Mine did. That was probably just what the version was when they developed this thing and so they're playing it safe. I don't blame them, but how can anyone know that it "must" be, when newer versions of JB 4.3 (huh?) hadn't come out yet. No need to scare people. Just say as far as you know.... but who knows for future revisions of the OS, right?
Anyway, this'll get ya through it, if you can deal with Josh's wordiness. Just be patient, he gets there. But you do have to take some of what he says with a grain of salt, like any of what you watch/read. My rule as a tech is, if it doesn't make sense, then it's probably wrong.
Hope this helps. And you didn't have to "Read! Read! Read!". That never gets you anywhere. You just end up reading a bunch of threads full of messages by people looking for help and others responding by telling them to read. And if you're lucky, you always end up at that one post that actually has the help you need. So why not just point people there in the first place? When that doesn't happen, XDA and other sites just end up cluttered with threads that delay people from getting help, instead of pointing them to help, which is what they were looking for in the first place, right?
Don't get me wrong, I love to read! And I encourage everyone to do the same! I'm just saying, with all due respect, reading a bunch of threads full of nothing but pleas for help and "read, read, read", is not learning. It's just noise. Unnecessary static. And threads with 70 pages of that doesn't help anyone, now does it?
I'm no saint, but this is my only post in this thread. And now there won't be 100 more messages containing "Help!!!" and "Read! Read! Read!".
The heck with that! I just want my device Rooted now! Hahaha!
If I forgot anything in here, just lemme know. I'll try to find it again. Or maybe I have the file. If you don't hear back from me, just PM me or something. I'm not on here all that much, but that will send me an alert or something, I'm sure. I think? Oh well, try it.
The biggest thing is, just don't let your fear of bricking your device overwhelm you. I have to say, that even though I never used any of this stuff before (meaning ADB & FastBoot & "pushing") and I was quite nervous, it actually was, looking back at it, a really simple procedure! So use my hindsight to hammer down that fear and Root, my son, root! <lol>
