I'm not a serious gamer but I first noticed this curious behaviour on the game Gun Bros. It seems that when I have to use 2 seperate input points for the game (left and right controls), the touch is less responsive and sometimes does not read input from the left control. The same behaviour is experienced on Shadowgun. When I run a game with only one control such as Sinister Planet, the input is flawless.
Has anyone else experienced this behaviour and found a workaround? I will note that I did not experience this running alpha2.1. TIA for any input.

So I just bought a new BT keyboard and after modifying keylayout works like a charm
http://www.ggmm.hk/product/lookproduct-340.htm
Since I had the new keyboard a figured I'd pair my BT mouse up for good measure, and then had an idea....
#1
I loaded up dungeon hunter 2 switched to tap to control and it was so close to a point and click RPG it blew my mind. It made the game 3x as good. The only problem was that I had to click on the attack button to attack enemies(there is no 'tap enemy to attack like DH1), could not use a keyboard key or click with my mouse.
Is there a way to create keyboard shortcuts for certain touchscreen coordinates being tapped?

I also did the next natural thing and loaded up adosbox. I got som Civ running but the mouse emulation only makes the "mouse" in DOS click when I click. It doesnt move the virtual mouse to the position of the android pointer and then click to emulate a tap. Does anyone know a way arounds this. I have tried all the dosbox settings.
aDosbox has no problem playing games with just the keyboard but its the mouse that is the problem
Imagine Civ and the like with perfect mouse emulation! This would also apply to FPS (like modern combat etc) which i can only get to emulate tap when click, cannot lock to pointer position to allow a freelook using mouse.

And lastly does anyone know of any games already out there (rpg, rts, fps) which already respond to keyboard/mouse input the way games should (wasd+freelook w/mouse, or rts/rpg with point and click and hotkeys)
This obviously excludes ***droid emulators and the like which are great with keyboard but don't really need the mouse.
If anyone has any workarounds or ideas please let me know!
I'm sure this would be so useful for everyone!
Because so far only dungeon hunter 1 is decently playable with mouse.
Thanks,
Endor
I was just testing Nova2 on my Photon 4g on a Lapdock 100 in Mirror mode only without Webtop launching. I think having any other launcher or app that modifies the Moto lockscreen will keep the full Webtop from launching but still allow mirror mode. My image is displayed pixel per pixel on this 10" lapdock so it doesn't zoom to fill the entire physical screen yet still looks good and much bigger.
Using the mouse to grab screen points was just like mouse freelook. This would be a seriously satifying FPS time killer on this bigger screen if it fully worked with a mouse and keyboard. Touch screen fps is fun for a bit but lacking the real feel that it could be. Moto may be missing the boat on the potential of the Lapdock market as a great mobile gaming platform. Make a dedicated controller to sell along with built in touch screen coordinates to keyboard setup with a center mouse lock for freelook. Something usable on any game instead of only dedicated software like the one Tegra Zone game Riptide GP that does work with SixAxis app. I will keep searching but like the OP stated there is great potential for true M/KB control.
Hello,
Does any of these apps seem to work for you guys?
It seems that the tablet's touchscreen isn't working well enough to capture every line.
When taking notes in every notetaking app or drawing lines in every drawing app causes dotted lines or become 'stairs' when drawing from left bottom corner to right top corner..
I am running vegacomb 3.2 (upd2) and tried every calibration tool i could find.
So, is it hardware related or is it only on vegacomb?
thnks, Kars!
Yeah, I find the Vega's touchscreen pretty weak.
I tried to play Fruit Ninja THD and it's almost unplayable.
I have exactly the same problem with you. (using Vegacomb 3.2 update 3)
And I even have some "touch death area", witch means the touch screen in that area are less responsive ,in the right side of the screen.
I've tried many screen recalibration apks but in vain.
I'm wandering if this problem can be fix in the future....
Have you used the build in calibration tool?
The screens are not super.. but they should perform better then what your describing. I reinstalled my tablet 2 days ago but I had Scetchbook on here when I was running VegaComb (android 3.0.1) and it worked fine.
*re installing it now on VegaCream RC2* it works fine here, no line interruptions, smooth lines exactly where I put them. I do remember that some of those rom versions had issues with not-too-great-touch-reponce. So its not the best solution, but a different rom maybe?
I have noticed that the flick sensitivity is very bad on the Galaxy Tab 10.1. In order to scroll anywhere, I need to do long, sweeping swipes across the screen. A small flick should scroll quite a bit but only scrolls about half an inch.
I have installed ToucScreenTune and used it to Tweak sensitivity as well as adding the build.prop edit, windowsmgr.max_events_per_sec=300. But flick scrolling still just does not work.
Is there any solution to this?
Bump
Anyone got any idea?
ICS 1 solution ....... maybe

you can try the ICS roms which are available since they mostly do not have lag issues like honeycomb .......
I use Task 14 and don't have lag issues or flicking issues being too little for me. Actually the opposite happens to annoy me more depending on where I am when I flick. Some things seem to scroll forever, or way too far and fast. Some are just fine. Makes me think it's more of issue with things other than what ROM your using. Sadly, I don't have an answer, just a comparison.

Has anyone noticed a change in how the touchscreen behaves after installing ICS?
It seems to me that it is biased a little more towards interpreting a touch as swipe or scroll rather than select. For example clicking links in a webpage or tapping icons on the homescreen seem to require a much more deliberate effort to select/open. It's not awful, but I would like to be able to bias it back a little more to selecting rather than swiping.
Is there a setting for this anywhere or an app available that allows adjustment?
I would to know too.. I hate this..
But it's not just from latest ICS 4.0.3 International, the Beta version also suffer same thing.
Is HC not like this? (I upgraded to 4.0.3 Beta as soon as after bought Mediapad )
Yes, I noticed it also. When you turn on Settings - Developer options - Pointer location, it clearly shows how your clicks/dots becomes swipes/lines.
yes, you're right.. it sometime (most time ) cause texting experience not so fluid (letter not appear as it's detected as swipe not click).
got the same thing.. i've changed the launcher, so with the Apex launcher it's not that bad in the homescreens.. when i enabled the option to show "pointer location" i can see the "tap" as a line, or a "swipe" line :\
tried the same on my Galaxy S, and all the "taps" are only a small point.. it's much better than on the MediaPad.. i hope it's just a software issue and it can be solved..
maybe, we could try something like "screen booster" or "touchscreen booster" from the Market (Play)
Erratic screen while charging
The other thing I've noticed after ICS international is that the touchscreen is now erratic while charging and in a case. I believe this is a common problem with capacitive touchscreens, but hadn't noticed it until after flashing ICS. It is not an issue if I remove the pad from the case and hold it in my hand.
Anyone else seen this?
This sensitive touchscreen isn't Angry Birds friendly. Constantly shakes a little bit.
soooo.....is there any solutions?

Not unless huaweis coders tweak it or releases the source code.
Anyone else having the issue when trying to make long screenshot?
Seems to happen only when taking screens using something different than 3 fingers.
Found the issue, Fluid NG app (it disables navbar), it was the cause of the screenshotting issues and choppy performance on phone
