I am Very Angry With this Section. No n00b Guide!! I Want To Root My Neo with Zergrush Method. They say "Make Sure you've installed adb drivers for your device". I've Downloaded Android SDK, JDK And Drivers For Neo (6.47 MB) Now What To Do?
Solved- Installed android SDK And JDK....Then Installed Google USB Driver Via Android SDK.......Then Copy And Paste The Xperia Drivers To Google USB Driver Folder....Then Connected Phone In Usb debugging Mode and ADB Drivers Installed Automatically!! Also rooted via Zerg Rush Method. Boo You pros.

Try to install them with adb, I am using it every time if something cant be installed. Adb will show you why.
Syntax:
adb install /path/to/application.apk
(it will return error why it cant be installed or return simply Success)

OK, then
YOu have used Flashtool yes? That means you have already installed adb drivers, hopefully
Am I right?
Will continue if this is true

I wanna root my sony ericsson active (st17i) on version 4.0.4, 4.1.b.0.587, ICS, so I downgraded to GB, 4.0.2.a.0.42 . I used doomlord v4 at first but it gave me an error that the abd server was out of date...killing, so I went to flashtool and tried rooting with that but then for exploit part 1 it said 'waiting for device, after 60 sec force stop' or something, so after a min it gave me an error saying forced stop (or somting like that can't remeber exactly) I tried it several times but always an error, can someone help me? My bootloader is NOT unlocked btw. Thanks, sorry for bad english

Hi,
have you read the tutorial for rooting in this forum?
mihahn made a very good tutorial, I've just rooted my xperia active (ST17i) 2 hrs ago and it worked really well! No errors in any logs!
I've got firmware 4.1.B.0.587, I followed tutorial for .587, it link a thread in sony mobile forum (I can't link it 'cause I'm a noob ).
I didn't downgraded to .42 , just flashed a 4.1.A.0.562 kernel and after rooting (with doomlord's rootkit) re-flashed the stok firmware 4.1.B.0.587.
The entire procedure took me about 15 minutes, but I've installed/checked adb drivers, flashtool, etc, days ago.

Search the forum for 'cwm for locked bootloader v2', read instructions and then install, you can unlock bootloader and then install custom kernel but you have not unlocked it yet as far as I can tell, so the cwm for locked bootloader method will be easier.

Download latest flashtool for xperia, after install complete go to flashtool directory, open drivers folder, install all drivers (select all drivers including adb and fastboot drivers), then open flashtool, click on the BLU Button, insert key that you have received from Sony, click unlock and then you should be done.
Hope I helped.

Guys Please help me root my Xperia Mini pro ( sk17i)
I tried a lot. but couldn't succeed.
I have flashed it first with MT11i_4.1.A.0.562_Kernel
and ran Doomlord tool. Where i got stuck with the phrase " Daemon started successfully " and nothing else happens..
My phone settings were in USB debugging, checked - untrusted app, MSC mode.
Also I checked my driver using adb interface and it was fine.
How can i proceed.
I have posted this thread after searching a lot of thread. But nothings helped me.. Please help me guys.
