The latest update of google plus mentions high resolution instant upload, but I am not seeing this functionality ... am I missing something? Also with previously uploaded photos, they remain at low resolution ... will I have to remove them and allow my phone to re-upload the images?
Cheers

Instead of the little photo box of who is calling you that you make it a full screen 'water mark' background image so it takes up the whole screen when someone calls.
See example attached. I'm not good at photo shop so I tried my best.
Just a thought.

Surely there is a free version/the ability to include it in a rom though..
Yes that would be cool...
full screen app
full screen app works great but it's not free on the android market.
The pictures would be crappy quality? Aren't they only a 96x96 image?

I think you're right.
That app kinda sucks. It doesn't 'explode' the pictures embedded in the contact but rather requires one to 'attach' a new image which is a chore every time I flash a ROM.

u could backup app and data wit titanium or my backup pro (pay app i use) and restore that way if thats the only thing stopping u
Those are workarounds.
Fact is, I already have pictures set for about three hundred contacts thanks to the now new picasaweb feature and I don't want to manually do this over. For the rest Facebook widget automatically assigns images for my contacts. Ideally the app should leverage this already available information rather than creating excess work.

++++1....
That, and it needs to not downgrade the resolution that was an issue in the past. The Desire build is still doing that...someone calls, the picture is some crappy low quality...barely make out who the person is calling...haha...
Unreal how some many things with Android are broke from Google...good thing all of their money is made from search advertising, because they can't do much else right...rofl..
Hello everyone. I have a question. Is there an app or any way to send video you've taken (NOT using the MMS setting!) say to facebook or email it to someone? I took a 4 second test video and tried to open it with gmail and it said the file was too big to attach.
Just wondering if anything was out there.
Great site, by the way. Also, I'm pretty new to this so don't mind me if I ask dumb questions. I only ask because I want to understand.
Thanks,
Dan
Why not upload to youtube and then you could send a link to the video?

Never tried that. Will it allow uploads of the bigger video files NOT in the MMS format?
I've uploaded like 5 minute videos taken with my phone. Only downside is to upload you need wifi since the files are so large.
Hi there,
Dropbox automatically stops uploading photos when the battery is low, but their definition of low is 15%... which is plenty of battery if you ask me. I can't find anything in the dropbox forums, is there any way to disable/edit this feature so that maybe it stops at 5%?
EDIT, could somebody move this post to the Q&A section please? Sorry..
Thx.
Haven't you posted in a wrong section Mate ?? You should have put it in the Q & A section !!

Why would he do that - defeats the purpose completely...
Don't think there is a way to avoid the low battery in Dropbox, but try with FolderSync. That should work.

Simply, use FolderSync instead of automatic upload of Dropbox.
Create a folder pair of whole sdcard and a remote dropbox folder with following settings:
1. Filter for photos only (using extension based filtering)
2. One-way sync (upload only)
3. Instant Sync
Done!
In case, your photo source isn't only camera (like you download photos from web) and you want to upload only camera photos, choose only specific camera folder in folder pair instead of whole sdcard.
Are poeple not making more noise about this? This is a huge pain for me, and I would prefer to have Dropbox upload my pictures than FolderSync.
I contacted Dropbox and they asked me to vote here for this feature: https://www.dropbox.com/votebox/10140/remove-auto-pause-upload-at-30-battery-capacity
But come on, 32 votes?? Among which, 6 are mine.
Having the upload pause at 30% is just ridiculous with the battery life of many devices.
I love FolderSync, but I am under the impression that Dropbox has less overhead battery consumtion for instant sync. Or am I wrong about that?

I second you !
DB is the best cloud but they are a bit retarded on this point.
this feature is just stupid, 30% is a lot of battery time and it makes no sense to pause uploads.
can there be a hack code done to change this behaviour?
I'm taking pictures with my Note2 at 3264X2448 (8M) resolution, but when I upload them via the Gallery to Picasa, they keep coming in at 800X600. I want to upload them at full size. I can't find a setting anywhere to change this. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
It seems like no one else is having this issue, or no one else is using Picasa. I scoured the web and couldn't find anyone else with this problem for any devices, so I'm not sure what the deal is.
What online photo storage services are people using?
Hi, a vendor told me I couldn't send a picture directly from gallery (without opening Whatsapp apk). I can't believe it. Can somebody tell me if it's possible?

Yes, you can send pictures from any accessible place but not screenshots. Screenshots are of png format and most apps (like whatsapp) dont recognize it.
First time when I wanted to share my homescreen with a friend, I couldnt. Later I realized it is not a phone issue but with app and supported extensions.
If you want to send a screenshot to someone, upload it to skydrive first. Once upload go back into whatsapp, then attach the photo from the skydrive folder

Thanks, but I really think that this is something that the operating system should fix. I just put a suggestion in the wp8 official suggestions app...
Saleh
its not an extension issue, its a whatsapp/wp8 issue because for some odd reason it wont allow you to attach from the screenshot from that specific folder, it could be that microsoft doens't allow access for 3rd party apps to this specific folder or most likely a problem with whatsapp it self.

There is nothing to be fixed in the operating system with this matter...
Whatsapp has to implement png support...
Also png is a much better format for screen shots than jpg...
on jpg you will get fragmentation from the compression...
png is pixelperfect!
Whatsapp Update
Hi folks,
If you don't know, whatsapp has a new version for Windows Phone with support to send screenshoot.
I just updated mine a few days ago, and it's working perfectly.
I know but didn't had time to post..
But anyway Whatsapp and WP support is improving! Goog news :victory:
