Web os 3.0.5 - TouchPad General

Anyone know the date for the release of 3.0.5? I have seen links to the RC1 but I am not sure how stable that is.

no one is sure until an ota starts to appear on our tp. im thinking no longer than the end of the month. dont be so eager as 3.05 are only bug fixes and do not add any enhancements according to rc1.

Okay cool thanks for the feedback... I will wait until the OTA release.

Cyanogen Mod 6.1 Barebones RLS 5.25 + 4.55 01/21/2011 Froyo 2.2.1

This is my release info, in the next post is the instructions you guys will need to follow.
I am releasing my Barebones CM6.1 froyo release! It was based off scooters CM6.1 I took it and stripped it as much as I could while retaining most of the functions in the phone. It has ADW for the launcher and on my phone overclocked to 572 mhz with JIT enabled I get a nice 3.943 Mflop/s on it. I can easilly say it is the fastest build for the kaiser ever as of this posting
Features are : Camera, Contacts, Market, Messaging, Phone, Settings, Super user app, Callibrate and spare parts. If you guys want me to I can make an even more stripped version but I feel this one is stripped pretty far.
(Note: Linpack score was obtained with my own copy of the 4.55 build which has linpack odex'd, attached is a rar with screenshots of proof of score and overclock)
NOTE: RLS 5 needs the account and sync settings apk to sync with google. It is attached on the bottom as an android update.
Download here - Current builds
RLS 5.25 - If all issues are fixed then this is my final build until CM 7 arrives for us. It fixes FC issues with a few apps. Also has Xbin fix and market update from Daedric. Also below is an update to bring your 5.1 install to 5.25. Due to the low adoption rate of the Deodex build I am neglecting to include it since the 5.25 update will work on the 5.1 deodex build.
Odex

5.1 to 5.25 Update
http://www.mediafire.com/?b65n42rj6ixho96
RLS 4.55 Odex - Built with Scoot RLS 4c fixed calender sync issues? (Someone tell me if I fixed them or not) and also changed boot animation to fat free froyo as the old one got boring. Same as Build 4 minus the boot loop bug caused by certain configurations. Added auto odex script and updated modules.

RLS 4.55 DeOdex - Same only de-odex'd without the odex script.

Optional -
Google apps android update - Contains calander, email, browser and google voice
Put in andboot folder on SD and in boot menu choose to run the update rather than install android.
Note: This is by now an out-dated update, install and update google apps before using.

HTC IME- Added per request
Same instructions as above just unrar the tar file first.

Archived Builds
5.1 fixes a storage bug in 5.0.
RLS 5.1 Odex - Based on nightly CM 6.1 source a couple days before 6.1 stable. Changed theme to have gingerbread animations, languages cut down, re-added CM wallpapers. Changed some files to smaller sizes. Re added VPN support. Added auto odex script to downloads. Made with fewer languages but includes the vast majority of the ones that were voted on. More features, smaller sizes was the aim of this build.
http://www.mediafire.com/?209cxuh4ikvptwv
RLS 5.1 De-Odex
http://www.mediafire.com/?kzc3l33vh11dq4e
RLS 4 - Removed due to bugs, waiting for Scoot RLS 5 to come out for RLS 4 instead. RLS 4 was a very minor incremental update. Not worth implementing the fix for the crash that was happening for something so minor, use RLS 3 instead. It is stable with all the speed.
RLS 3 Deodex'd - Added many languages, changed vendor.apk and changed a few font files to slightly smaller versions and added sounds from clemsyns release. Also added calibrate and spare parts back in due to their small size and importance to some users. Removed openvpn, busybox and RLSSI as these functions are rarely used.
http://www.mediafire.com/?5ioe4z80db9e7dm
RLS 3 Odex'd - Same as above only odex'd which is smaller and faster but not as customizable with themes
http://www.mediafire.com/?py137bd6yg7qymi
RLS 2.1 - Added provision.apk back in to resolve some screen and call received bugs. Will remove again when issue is fixed with CM6.1
http://www.mediafire.com/?dgtq5qxsxnnjxxx
RLS 2 -Removed due to serious bug
RLS 1

Feel free to let me know of any bugs or requests you guys have!
Thanks go out to DZO,Scooter,L1quid,Thoughtless Kyle and all the other android devs who make our kaiser live longer
To install on your Titan follow the HARET guide for the Vogue here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=648045
For the Zimage do not use the link in that post, please use the one below. The Zimage posted there is the Original by DZO and is now deprecated for my build. You WILL need the .32 kernel. CM6.1 will not work with a .25 kernel. http://androidhtc.git.sourceforge.net/git/gitweb.cgi?p=androidhtc/kernel-release.git;a=tree
To overclock to help with speed run Roguetools. With my Kaiser I was able to get a max speed stable of 572 which is not the norm. I have seen 550 as a max typically. Lastly for max speed get a class 6 card. A 10 card is better but it is a moot point as the MSM cpu does not have enough I/O.
I do not have a Titan to test it on but it seems standard HARET instructions work for you guys so enjoy my build.
Google apps are out-dated and will FC according to 1 report I had before. I am updating them tomorrow.
I am not sure if your having us on. Is this for real?
Yes it is real. You guys are using plain old haret which my build can work with.
I'll wait till your update tomorrow.
If you are taking request for builds, then...
1) A data only build. I know quite a few users want a better data only solution then WinMo. (it crashes every few hours). So phone optional and data over USB or bluetooth as I don't think we are lucky enough to get wifi.
2) Do you think you can get it small enough to get a functioning Voip Solution? I dont think the hardware has enough guts, but hey, I can dream.
3) Google maps
4) Video player
Looking forward to trying this out tomorrow.
Video should work, not sure about performance since I don't have an XV6800 anymore but I do have my kaiser and it works. As far as VOIP goes the overclock should help as long as you can load it. I really think that getting compcache to work with a Nand install is key for you guys.
Hi any pictures of this? i am so interest in test android in my mogul, please if you have any screen shoot or video you must show us
No images but it basically looks like standard cyanogen mod. I added the animations from Gingerbread in my 5 series of the build so its a mixture of gingerbread and froyo. I am currently aqcuiring a mogul again to get android pared down even further and perhaps get it working better for you guys. It seems like no one has bothered to update the info over here lol.

Thanks for your time, and the update. I think you have raised the hopes of some mogul users.
Can someone confirm this is working?, if that is the case I will consider opening an android development forum for the titan.
Thanks!

Android does work on the titan as it is working through HARET. HARET is the same way it works on the vogue/kaiser/polaris. The only difference is these devices have half the ram so its a bit slower.

I have not seen any feedback about using aceoyames new build on an actual titan. My an Magister2k7 opinion is that until now android is to heavy for the Titan. Once aceoyames releases an update I will try it out for a day and post.
I imagine aceoyame is waiting to receive a titan to develop against, and that will slow the update cycle, so I am not holding my breath. But I still have hope.

I have one, someone donated me one, I just need a battery for it. If anyone has a spare old battery that only lasts even 10 minutes would help out. Otherwise I am going to have to buy a battery next week when I get paid.

[Q] Don't have patches after update to WebOS 3.0.4?

Hi, i updated my TP to WebOS 3.0.4 just now, and i notice that, after i install preware and the testing feed, i don't see the patches in preware. Anyone has this issue too?
Yes. Patches showed as installed but had no effect on the system. Once uninstalled, they still don't show up in preware.
thanks for the fast reply...
probably have to wait for the new preware update?
New version of os means the patches made for old version do nothing. You can leave them on touchpad and when developer for patch upgrades it will show as upgrade in prepare......
Yea I had noticed the same thing. I am going to downgrade though, not enough improvements for me to stick on this.

Given that a stock 3.0.4 runs at pretty much the same speed as a fully patched & overclocked 3.0.2, I would've thought that waiting a couple of days for the patches to be made compatible with 3.0.4 wouldn't be that big a deal.

im thinking of downgrading to 3.0.3 too.
my previous 3.0.3 with all the patches are much snappier than 3.0.4
but, i think im gonna to wait for awhile untill the new patches for 3.0.4 come out.

[Q] CM7 Nightlies...why no updates?

Sorry..if this as been asked somewhere...but I haven't seen any thing new in a while. I haven't been around in a while either.
What happened to the CM7 nighties builds for the Fascinate..they stop at 112...which was a month ago..Nov 12...what gives?
One of the systems had a hard drive crash from what i read on cyanogen mod website.
I believe that they are now all concentrating on CM9 - ICS - Therefore there will be no more CM7 updates.
The build bot is actually fixed, but they are waiting for CM9 to be up and running before releasing more nightlies
Here is a link

TF201 CM9 Nightly Available

CM9 Nightly for Prime now available...has anyone tried this yet? I'm tempted to give it a whirl, but may wait for braver souls to give it a try first and report their findings...
http://cm-nightlies.appspot.com/?device=tf201
All the d/l links on the page http://download.cyanogenmod.com/?device=tf201 seem to be broken atm
you're right...didn't try that before posting that it was available. With the recent announcements of nightlies being available for other devices, probably just a matter of time before they get to us
Old news... been up for well over a month now.
Sent from my CM7 Atrix 4G
The date of the new build is for the 29th, its 12.33am on the 30th here in Australia. I hope they merged the 4.0.4 AOSP code into it.
I'll be back in 8 hours after a snooze, it would be sweet if the links were fixed by then. I've been hanging for cm to update the tf201 nightlies. The one before yesterdays was just under a month ago..

dude, there's a new build for the 29th...
All I am hoping for is that the keyboard dock at least works. Like, no soft keyboard pops up on dock use. If it has that, I have a new DD for my TF201.

[Edit] this begins running at 1.2ghz. using the cpu_overclock.bin from the TFP AOKP section by Jermaine cranks it up to 1.6...aaaand now it's perfect...really running great so far. minor market issues with compatibility but that's about all I can find. anything to look out for/test??

are you rooted, unlocked and running the latest CWM recovery?
if so, take my first post, fill in the gaps for the link to the direct CM server, download the rom. transfer rom and latest ICS gapps (3/17) to your internal storage. boot into recovery, wipe, flash.
These seem to be working.

Its been decided that we won't use Cornerstone for the foreseeable future. The underlying implementation is not flexible and needs a lot of work.
It is 4.0.4. I forgot to get GAPPS before flashing, so Im downloading that now. It looks to be very AOSP right now. Will update in a minute
Edit- Having a issue with WiFi. I set it up and it works fine. I restart the tablet and it cannot connect and is stuck at "Turning on Wireless". Rebooting again has no effect. Toggling Airplane mode also has no effect.
Edit 2- Dock is working like it does with the AOKP- volume, lock, media, back button, and browser work, the other shortcut keys dont. It charges from the dock. Cameras work fine. Brightness works, but no IPS switch (duh). Overall, very promising! I hope the nightlies continue!

[Q] Wanting a new ROM, cant decide.

I have Eclipse 1.1 (old I know) it was great when it first came out and I flashed it. But now I need something new bc its not working as good, and I know theres better versions and other ROMs that are possibly better.
Any suggestions on which ROM to flash and why?
Depends on what you want. If you want a fully functional ROM I'd check out the latest edition of Eclipse.
Cyanogenmod 7.2 rc1 has a small amount of bugs, but is for the most part fully functional. HDMI mirroring doesn't work and that's the one and only downside to me. I still use CM7 as a "daily driver" so to speak. Lots of customization and with the hacks/mods found in this forum I get excellent signal strength, connection speeds and battery life. Wifi still sleeps when the screen's off, but with the v3 build.prop mashup it reconnects on waking within seconds every single time.
Cyanogenmod 9 alpha 3 is somewhat buggy as it's in its early alpha stages. There's no camera yet, but DZK already said there will be a fix for alpha 4. Same with aces miui. It's real slick, being on ics. I like it, but won't stay until there's a working camera and more stability. When that happens this rom will be simply amazing. Overall it's pretty sweet and at the very least, worth checking out/playing around with.....
MIUI4 will be awesome too once the bugs are sorted and fixed. As stated before- the next release will also have a working camera. MIUI is probably one of my favorites if not my favorite but right now its way too buggy for me to use. More so than cm9. Couldn't deal with the bugs Ace is hard at work bringing us more updates and when he finally gets this where he wants it MIUI will more than likely replace cm7 as my daily rom. It's a great ROM in general but I couldn't stay on miui for more than like an hour, personally.
Definitely go into each roms topic and check out the screenshots and videos if there are any. Also look for the working features and known bugs/issues. Honestly I say give them ALL a try and see what best suits you. I only really posted about the newer ones. If I remember correctly molten isn't being updated anymore after 2.3 and I keep forgetting liberty even exists, lol.......
Cyanogenmod all day
I started with Eclipse 1.3 and then went to 2.1 running scripts and about everything else with it. Then when CM9 alpha came out, I had to try it. CM9 alpha works great for me. I needed my camera, so I flashed back to CM7. When the beta version of CM9 rolls around, that's gonna be the ticket!
IMHO- CM7
I can't believe how smooth and FAST my phone is with CM7. The camera works great, very little to no lag at all with anything I have found. There's all kinds of customizations for it. I'm not running any scripts, only CM7 and SD Increase from the market. My phone is fun again and I'm not hesitant to show somebody up with a whyphone like I was before. Try it and see.
Also check out this thread for sure!!

Are you pretty good with computers, tech, etc.? If you want a fast update, just flash CM7 since it is on the same kernel as the version of Eclipse you are on. If you try to update to the latest Eclipse, you have to go through the process of using the SBF to get to stock, updating to 2.3.5 then flash the new version. Its up to you though. CM7 and Eclipse are the most stable ROMs we have at the moment until some bugs get worked out in CM9.
Thanks everyone. I am on Eclipse 2.2.1 as of right now (w/speedy script 7 and other tweaks/apps). Ill probably try CM7 in the future since its already on my sdcard.

Just remember you need to be on 2.3.4 before flashing CM7.
Man I don't know what it is but.....
I used to run Eclipse 2.1 and scripted to the 23498457890345th power maxed out turnaround wing dinger squared. I thought it was as good as it could get. But when I went to CM7, I giggled at what I "thought" I had. Hands down the way to go, until CM9
I would use cm7. Just because its stable and has the best UI in my option and has pretty good performance. or you could wait for cm9 to get more stable with a working camera and better performance.
Liberty 3
Just Rooted and Flashed for the first time.
I went with Eclipse 2.2.1 - because the HDMI support was kind of a deal breaker for me. (Netflix, FPSE, SnesEX, etc. on a big screen!) But I was wondering why none of you mentioned Liberty 3? I haven't tried anything other than Eclipse 2.2.1 so I don't have an educated opinion to share, but other than CM7 it seemed like Liberty 3 and Eclipse were the two other "stable" ROMs in the DEV section.
Is Liberty "bad" or do you guys just not use it, and why?
Also, I flashed what I *thought* was the latest build of Eclipse 2.2.1 (from the official thread) but there are only 5 pull down toggles on my notification panel - I thought there were supposed to be 7? Did I miss something?

I haven't been on eclipse in a while so I'm not sure if I'm remembering correctly, but I thought there was an option in settings to set those.
I can't say for sure why nobody mentioned liberty though, it might be because it doesn't offer much compared to eclipse. Also, it was supported for maybe 2 months max while I'm pretty sure nitro is still pushing out updates for the x2(somebody correct me if I'm wrong).

I loved cm7 as my first and only rom but my 3g sucks, dolphin force closes, camera is buggy etc I'm going to reflash before jumping to eclipse which I've heard is most stable ...
I loved cm7 but the broken orientation sensor in the kernel killed it for me. I now run eclipse 2.2.1. It was a bugger to get installed. Having to wipe cache at a different point than instructions indicate. And also I have a little touch-screen delay.
