Try the app from market fasterfix and choose northamerica..that should help you.
Go to the rarity rom page in developement. There you will find, about halfway down the posts, an app built by pfittech called pfgps...
It has been broken into regions, you flash by cwm and it improves lock times for GPS.
Thank you pfittech for this awesome piece of software for our phones...

Test GPS by installing a stock rom older than what you are using .

last i install munjeni's ics for aria,
use very well, but now i found the gps
is always located in china sichuan province ,
i tried many twice ,but still same .Can someone tell me the solution ,
i need your help serious !
Idk, mine usually starts up showing me in Nevada for some reason. Maybe try different gps libs. I know that's worked in the past for other people.

Yes, I also have this problem, but I assumed that this problem has arisen because of the baseband upgrade. Which version of the baseband do you have?

my baseband is 47.63.35.21U_7.16.35.11,i don't think is that reason, because i tried winsuk's rom in the past,do not have this problem.thank you all the same!

Yes, with the radio module is ok. Today's WinSuk's build also has a problem with GPS
Same problem.. Radio 7.13.35.13.
On Froyo GPS works well. after flashing ics - shows that i in another city
SOLVED!
I solved this problem for me.
clear your /system/etc.conf (backup it before change), and paste this:
_pastebin.com/46q2CuEz
its russia ntp server, so get your country-address at pool.ntp.org/zone/@
Reboot, go into "GPS Status" application, clear your A-GPS data and download it. Thats all, solved.

Here too, but with Radio version 7.16.35.11. It shows I've locked onto GPS (with 0 satellites - ! ) but that I'm always at 38N 117W - somewhere in Nevada. I'm not. I'm near Houston, TX, roughly 25N 95W.
I've tested out clearing the agps data and letting it reload it. I've loaded several GPS apps (GPS Test, Angry GPS, GPS Status& Toolbox, GPS Essentials) in order to try to help get this right, but it doesn't seem to ever see a single satellite.
That is, until I installed the gps.conf that is posted in Munjeni's CM9 thread. - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=25746235&highlight=gps#post25746235
I had to remount /system r/w and (I know other stuff would work, but I used this) the Root Browser built into ROM Toolbox Lite. renamed the existing gps.conf, pasted in munjeni's gps.conf, and I can now see birds. I didn't have time to let it lock (I just walked over to the window at work to test it), but it found one, so I'm sure it will find more. That's one more than it ever found after I landed the ICS ROM on the Aria.
I also ran FasterFix against it. All it does is point to a geographically closer NTP server, so I'd call that step optional.

gps.conf does exist, but the contents were not the same. There was much more in the gps.conf that was substituted in, as opposed to what was in my /etc directory.

exist and they are identical in new rom
well, I just went and looked at it again, and it appears FasterFix abbreviated the file for me. I will have to test this out tonight on my way home from work.

ok, I just saw your post with the link to pastebin. That's what my gps.conf looks like after FasterFix toys with it, except that mine now says north-america.ntp.pool.org . So it should work out just fine.

Stop, that's what I was saying, that in gps.conf Pastebin it works fine.
with gps.conf, that ics by munjeny (July 9) (like this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=25746235&highlight=gps # post25746235) - does not work
well, or my English was so bad that I'm all confused and said everything is completely contrary
thank you all!!!
does this problem really solved?
the right method is yTko's or by 78c10?
yesterday,i have flashed my phone to winsuk's jelly bean.

Same here, airplane mode on/off doesn't solve it either
What to do..i just cant understand...
it seems very very very few people have this problem...
i searched many forums and threads ..but to no use...
PLEASE TELL AS SOON AS YOU GET A VALID SOLUTION TO THIS..all
PEACE
I guess that this is for the Xperia S?
It is a common problem for all the phones with the wl12xx WIFI driver.
Please try the following and let me know if it is working.
1. disable WIFI.
2. open your favourite file explorer with root access (for example ES File Explorer).
3. delete /data/misc/dhcp/dhcpcd-wlan0.lease and /data/misc/dhcp/dhcpcd-wlan0.pid
4. enable WIFI.
will this give me proper signal from my service provider...i have a rooted gsm xperia s...
wifi is properly working in cm9

Hello!
My wife's XU GPS doesnt practically work.
GPS gets zero fixes! Gps status and toolbox shows usually 0/0 (fix/sats), sometimes 0/10(variable).
Using latest SlimCM linaro ROM.
Location Europe/Estonia
I have tried to edit gps.conf file acording to this tutorial:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1239713
No results!
Few months ago GPS worked fine. Probably used another ROM then.
My Xperia S gets with that same gps.conf file instant fix with satelites :silly:
I dont know what to do next... maybe somebody know ?
Oh, and sorry for my bad English! )))
Thanks!
Try flashing stock firmware and see problem still arises..
It may with rom...
Or sum5hing might be wring flashish may fix it..

GPS fix app helped a little, but this problem is hardware related, just poor gps device
hey guys,
so recently i decided to flash one of the many S5 ROMs that are now available to the s3, after wiping my phone i found that the wifi would not connect, i'd put the password in then it would just say "saved, secured".. ive downloaded several similar ROMs since then only to run into the same problem every time.. all the other features work fine its just the wifi, which is quiet essential..
i live in new zealand and have an i9300T..
thanks to anyone who can help me out as i really like the S5 software!
Go to data folder of your device by using any root explorer and create a file name it .cid.info enter in that file and edit and type murata in it.
Change permissions to rw-rw-r and reboot.
Press thanx if i helped you in anyway...

Did you flash wifi fix right after flashing rom? Some people said that the wifi worked without applying the fix.

On this rom I came from miui v5 kk rom too where wifi works great. First I installed this QS-i9300-KK rom without wifi-fix, on the first start wifi didn't work, so I flashed wifi-fix.zip and wifi still didn' work. Then I downloaded wifix without any sussess, then I clean installed rom again and after instalation flashed wifi-fix.zip still no success and so on and on... I don't know what else should I do
