Hi,
Ive two ideas for the cam app:
a. is there any way to disable the live view function in the stock cam app
b. using the front camera at night istn usable without a flash. the most of the lcd screens are bright enough to add light to a foto in a small radius. is there any way to add this?

Is there an app for the atrix that lets you use the front facing camera specifically just for a mirror...also I kno this would drain battery but is the a app that lets the front facing camera act as a live wallpaper?

Well I mean you could just open up your camera app, hit switch, then look at yourself
not wise to keep a CMOS sensor on so long especially with AGC (auto gain control), you will get hot pixels in an hour and overheat the sensor.

There's also no zoom with the FFC, so no "detail" work with the "mirror".
So I was messing with my x10's camera again and for some reason, it's not rotating to portrait.. How come? I'm using prerooted GB btw..
yeah, not only you. the camera after the GB update doesn't rotate at all.
its still better than what they originally intended though (to give us the stock android camera)
Guys, what i did notice, is even tho the camera doesnt rotate into portrait, when you snap the picture it automatically saves as a portrait. Did you notice that?

Yes, it's just the UI that doesn't change, probably because screen-rotation is CPU intensive and would slow the camera. It's still capturing in portrait so no big deal.
Sorry to bump up old thread, but i managed to rotate it twice, accidentally.
First time was i launch it from the FB app, i manage to use it in portrait mode.
The second time i managed to do it was yesterday, i manage to rotate it 3 side, left and right, plus one side in portrait mode. But now i cant get it to rotate again
=(
On stock rom though.
If you hold the phone upright in the camera app and press one of the volume buttons, it rotates to portrait.
This recently happened. I don't know if it's the lens or rom issue. I only see the black dot on screen and on pictures when shooting camera. But when I switch to video and leave camera app the black dot is gone. Anyone know what might be the problem?

take a screen shot and post a pic you took. if there is something on the lens, you will also see it in video mode.
Has anyone else noticed the Camera app on ICS for the SGS2 is really weird? For instance, I take a photo and it will show the photo in full colour but then when I click on the photo in the bottom left (portrait mode) the image is missing half its colour until I press the return key, the colour comes back but as expected the image shuts and goes back to the camera application. Then when I view the photo in the Gallery application, the image is in full colour. Any thoughts on this or is it only happening to me?

I think it happens just because the auto-mode in the screen bright settings, try it with full bright and you'll see is it keep happening.
I remember also there's an option to set max bright when you take a picture so that can be the reason too.

I think that's what he already has.
Put your phone in full brightness and not in auto brightness and you will be ok.

That's what "outdoor visibility" setting does automatically whilst using the camera. After you exit the camera, it returns back to autobrightness or whatever your setting is.
Try it

The problem is probably in your rom, change to hydrog3n
No you guys think too much.....
When you are on auto bright your picture also is dim when you watch in gallery, you need to be set Max bright.
That's what he (OP) was asking

oh yeah, it gives you a different screen brightness on your camera, it should be somewhere in your settings, if not just play with the screen brightness till they look the same
dude. it has yellow tint now, which is worse than blue tint, blu tint sharper, thus better!
Hello everybody
I found exposure slider in camera setting has no effect on viewfinder and also on resulted media . Weather was still camera or video.
Any one confirm this or else?

I have the exact same problem, from both front and back cameras. Same in third party camera apps, exposure controls simply do not function as expected, no change at all. HDR picture mode seems to work fine though.
Not a serious enough problem for me to RMA, but it is a small dent in the glory of the S3 for sure..

I also had this issue and was deeply disappointed, because my optimus 2x made much better shots in low light because of the exposure compensation.
I found the solution today: I used the hidden camera menu *#34971539# and discovered that my camera was ZDFE02 and the phone firmware was ZDFE03. If your phone to cam button is greyed out, do this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=32721917
After copying the file to internal SD, restart, then update and restart. You get new cam firmware and now the exposure works.
