Hi there, my dad is on vacation with his newly Xronified TP that I set up this past weekend for him. He called me asking why he can't view Vimeo videos on the TP. I'm not sure what to say, since HTML5 should work just fine in Opera, Dolphin, et al - correct?
Bump.
Any Halp?

Well I am on my third Gingerbread rom (6th overall rom) and I finally have gotten the Vulkano to stream in all situations. Last night I downloaded CM7's nightly build 58 and flashed my G-Tablet. Installation was very smooth using clockworkmod and all 128 apps were restored using Titanium back with no problems. I had wiped and formated just about everything I could before doing the installation. After that I went to the market and downloaded the Vulkano player and at last sucess. I was able to stream from the vulkano both locally and over the internet. I realize some other people have had sucess using Corwins rom (CM7 based), and that was going to be next if this did not work. I had previously tried G-Harmony with no sucess, and then Vegan Tab GB with limited succes. The strange thing with Vegan Tab was it would stream over the internet however it would not stream when I was home locally. Watching the bandwidth I was getting at home the software player seemed to choke everytime it was over 1 mb/sec. When I was out of the house and connected over the internet it worked fine at speeds anywhere from 300-900k. This leads me to believe the hardware accelleration that is now included in CM7 is working with this app allowing it to run over my local network. Another thing that I have struggled with is getting recorded shows downloaded to my G-Tab. Well I still can not get it to work with any rom and the vulkano player but I have a work around for now. By down loading the videos using UPNPdownloader (avlalable in the market for free) you can then watch the recordings using MOBOPlayer or Rockplayer. Now for even better news when Rockplayers asks if you want to use hardware decoding and you answer yes the videos run close to flawlessly. On the other two GB roms it obviously would not work using the hardware decoding. They did run on the roms using the software decoding but they would stutter even at the lowest recorded resolutons. When playing high quality recordings they would be unwatchable due to the delay in video processing in which the sound which was a full 3-5 seconds ahead of the picture. This would make all sense since the Vulkano records in the H.264 video format and if I am not mistaken that is the portion of hardware accelleration that is working. Well I hope this helps someone else.
Lastly I do miss the Vegan Tab interface, the VT Launcher was very smooth and the rom was much more tablet oriented. I can not wait until gojimi includes this in his rom since the rom is CM7 based if I am not mistaken. Please excuse any typos and good luck.

Interesting. I have a vulkano, and am running vegantab with pershoot's latest overclocked kernel - I have not gotten around to getting it set up, but under that other OS (er, iOS?) I would pull over 2Mbit/sec (more like 3) for local HD content, and 1.5+ for remote (yay for comcast HSI) - I should test it out. I'll let you know what I see tomorrow!

Sounds good I am interested to see what happens. I am currently streaming between 1.6 and 2.0 mb/secs locally using the wireless router Verizion put in when I got Fios. My iphone streams locally between 300k - 600k usually.

VeganGinger just gives me a black screen and spinning "buffering" with the Vulkano inside the home. Meh. Not so good!
For the record, Vulkano (Monsoon) refuses to support G Tab and Android 2.2 at all. I'm now in a legal war with these clowns. be careful on CM7 as you may still encounter buffering quite often and screen lockups.
Vulkano issues on CM7 for Evo
I have the Vulkano player working flawlessly on my Nook Color running CM7.1 RC1
However, I cannot for the life of me get it working CM7 and my Evo 4G. Tried the stable and testing builds. I'm still debating if I really want to move to a nighly, but I might just do it to see if it works and restore back to 7.1 RC1.
BTW, I'm so happy they finally have a root process for the Evo 4G on Gingerbread!

Hello,
I am trying to make if possible the android vulkano application to work with 4.4.2 or Lollipop and stream while the screen is off.
This was possible with my 2.3.7. But with newer devices seems impossible. I am digging up some old vulkano posts incase somebody figured this out.
Thank you very much.
Hey there. I just cracked open the box for my gTablet yesterday and I'm looking for some suggestions.
You see, I bought this tablet mainly to stream some avi[xvid]/mkv's from my networked PC... I had hoped it would be easy.
I flashed from the stock 4439 v2BL rom to Vegan 7.1 using cwm 3.0.2.8 and everything was going great until I learned about hardware video acceleration being broken (also, I could not get cifs working, even through CifsManager. My computer refused to install the ADB Bridge drivers, therefore I couldn't insert the proper modules). So I jumped to Brilliant Corners 1.3.1, and still my videos won't play or look all choppy, and they're playing off of the microSD slot (for what it's worth I've tried mVideoPlayer, arcMedia and RockPlayer to no avail). I'm having an issue with the wifi in this house right now, so I can't test out cifs.
TL;DR Version
So basically I'm looking for a rom with cifs support, and avi/mkv playback. Doesn't have to be High Def or anything, just regular 'ol avi's. Should I just go back to Vegan and use something like Orb Media Server (if it's even still around)? Or does anyone have a better solution.
Thanks!
P.S.
Google Earth working properly is a huge plus as well, as it loved to FC in Vegan. Also, I have to say, for all the disclaimers I read, flashing was crazy easy. Thanks to everyone out there who has written a FAQ/walkthrough on flashing the gTab.
Addendum:
I fixed the video playback issues (back in Vegan 7.1.0 with Google Earth still crashing anytime I click on a Wikipedia link or look at it funny). Turns out my media server is seriously FUBAR - all the avi/mkv's I'd copied over were corrupt...
Also, if anyone ever has trouble connecting a freshly installed Android device to a Microsoft MN-700 router, turns out the default hostname (android-[random numbers]) is too long or something. Changing to just gTablet fixed it for me.
I'm still working on cifs...
Is anyone currently able to watch Hulu either on the website or through the Hulu Plus app?
If so, what Rom are you using and what version of Flash?
I can get to the website and start the video but so far after it plays the first commercial the video will stop, the audio will play but the video freezes
OR
It will play until it gets to a commercial, it will play the commercial and ten never resume playing
OR
it wont even make it past the first commercial, it will play the ad but will then stop playing and get stuck on a black image...
Ive tried CM7, Flashback, Vegantab Ginger Edition (couple different versions) as well as multiple versions of Flash...
Having the same issues. 1.1bl, Vegan Ginger 7.1, Vgeezyflash.API 11.0
Having issues too.
Using the Flashback 10.0 alpha (Honeycomb 3.1) rom and can't get hulu or most flash items to load right/
If I click around and end up hitting play I'll get sound on hulu, but that's all.
I think it has something to do with later flash versions using Hardware Acceleration and the gtab not supporting it or something.
I've tried the stock browser, Dolphin for Pad, Dolphin HD and Opera Mobile/mini all with the user agents set to Desktop.
I've tried flash from these locations:

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1077914
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1076612
I always get the same result.
The websites I use to test are, newgrounds, hulu and a google search for "fart soundboard".
On Hulu I only get sound, on newgrounds flash items are just a blank spot and the fart soundboard will make noise if i click on it but I can't see any of the buttons I'm pressing.
I've read other posts of people saying the have got hulu to work but they fail to mention where the got the flash apk.
Get the PlayOn Mobile app and stream it as well as many others right from your pc to anywhere your connected to wifi, been using it awhile now and until we can stream directly from the site, this is a GREAT alternative

Thanks for the tip!
Update:
Using Opera Mobile 11.1 (with the user agent set to "desktop" in its settings, from this post and the latest version of Flash Player 11 from the Android Market get's flash based websites like newgrounds.com and my flash based eTextbooks to work correctly! So that's a decent enough work-around for my issues.
Hulu.com works better than with any other browser but still won't actually play videos.
Hi all,
I was wondering if anyone is having this problem. I have a Samsung Galaxy SII 4G, love this phone. However I have some issues when it comes to flash and streaming video stuff. I can seem to watch youtube videos just fine but trying to go to other sites that have flash or streaming videos, it just doesn't play at all. Also some sites with flash will only show up with a green arrow in the area where there's supposed to be a video. I have downloaded Adobe flash and Flash AIR. Have tried multiple browsers with all having the same problems. Is there a fix to this? Please help.
P.S. I know this isn't the right forum for this but I am also having this problem on my Viewsonic G-Tablet.
Thanks,
Afrowookie
Are you using the stock browser?
Try boat browser. Flash works great with it! You can also try updating flash in the market.

I have the most updated adobe flash. I have used the stock browser, firefox, dolphin and now opera. Opera seems to work the best for me, but like I said youtube videos work, but on other sites the videos don't even load, and the only way to watch some of them is by downloading them first and then viewing afterwards. I will try boat though, thanks for the reply.

Like I said, try boat browser. Under the Settings > Set User Agent - To desktop. Should work with almost all videos.
ive installed ROBOFORM browser for it... it works perfect ...
Hi everyone. Just got me a TF300TG last week thanks to my wife, and so far it has been great.
I chanced upon this app called Vaulty- the free version, and I thought it works great. Just some quirks though. Pictures are fine, but certain videos hidden by it seems to be no longer playable. I don't use the Vaulty in- built video player, but MXplayer. And to add, these videos were running ok before.
Any idea, anyone?
