Ok so i have an HTC Amaze 4g on tmobile and i think its on 2.3.4 So anyways i rooted it about a week ago and around 2 days ago i decided to get a custom rom. i followed instrucctions to the dot on how to flash the roms and all but it would never work it would just reboot. I read another tutorial suggesting to Back up all the info and then wipe it in ClockworkMod Recovery So I did. Yet it still didnt work. eventually i got stuck in ClockWorkMod recovery so i took the battery out and NO MATTER what i did if i rebooted powered down or even factory reset i would just go into ClockWorkMod. Now i cant even get into ClockWorkMod. When i turn on my phone it goes straight to h-boot and NO MATTER WHAT I CLICK IN H-BOOT IT GOES STRAIGHT BACK TO H-BOOT ive clicked every option and it vibrates says htc then goes right back to h-boot. If i even click power down in H-Boot it will go black then back to h-boot. I have no idea if my phone is bricked or what. Ive had plenty of experience hacking IOS but this is my first time with android and i found it quite confusing. also i do not care if i have to unroot i have already relocked the bootloader soo. This is what my Htc amaze 4g currently says in H-Boot:
*** RELOCKED ***
*** Security Warning ***

and of cousre the options displayed are: Fastboot, Recovery, Factory Reset, Clear Storage, SimLock, Image CRC
and in Fastboot the options are: Bootloader, Reboot, Reboot Bootloader, Power Down.
Any help is accepted Thanks guys!!!
you will have to put the recovery back onto your phone through fastboot then when you get into the recovery mode, restore the nandroid backup you were supposed to make. then everything should work properly so you can try again
Can u plz be more detailed with that lol im new to android

unlock your bootloader!! you don't need an RUU. Unlock your bootloader again and reset to factory settings.

I need help. Normally I never ask questions I perfer to scan the forum looking for answers but this is my first question.
So we all know by now there is a leaked ICS Rom for the HTC Amaze. Well I downloaded the RUU put it at the root of the external SD and loaded it in hboot. Hboot starts the normal routine of looking for images to flash and dismissing all the missing ones. When it comes to PH85IMG it will stop the sidebar will take a minute to slowly load to full and the following result would say:
Loading...[PH85IMG.zip]
Wrong zipped image!
then it will finish the routine and essentually dismiss. After that all I can do is return to normal use
Phone info:
T-mobile HTC Amaze 4G rooted S-ON
Android 2.3.7/ Sense 3.5
Faux's v009 Kernal
thanks kindly for the help developers.

I think the only way for someone S-on to install this update is to return the phone back to stock. you have to revert your bootloader back to locked and make the phone stock again.
In that case I guess it's about time to reach S-OFF. To those reading I'll give the result.

I just went through the whole s-off procedure and was able to flash the image after that. I didn't revert back to stock. I guess that was my problem too, but everything is working fine with ICS so far.
I relocked the bootloader and was able to get ICS.
kinda sad though im about to root it just to get rid of the bloat apps . Umm I hope others can use this as guide.
Please help!!! cannot flash ics rue
Hey! I have a similar problem. I have relocked the boot loader, NO root, S-ON... basically the only thing I did was unlocking and relocking the bootloader.
I copied the zip file in the ext-sd folder. In Hboot mode it scans the sdcard but a "NO image or wrong zip image" appears... So I reboot normally....
Now a strange thing happens and the zip file i copied onto the sdcard is 0Kb!!!! I tried several times... can sameone help me?
BTW I have a external sd card intalled (actually is one form another phone formatted as fat 32) + the internal memory.
thanks!

Make sure the zip you have is good and make sure the SD card is good. strange that you place a 487mb file and it changes to 0kb on its own. try formatting the
SD and try again or try using a different one.
I would re-copy the zip to your sd card again.

Sent from my HTC_Amaze_4G using xda premium
Hey guys i been on MIUI for about a week or so and i wanted to flash off onto a sense rom but when i tried to flash 2 different roms it wouldn't get past boot animation so i thought i needed to upgrade my firmware but iv'e never done that before. So i found this thread by Virus http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1808150 and added the pg86img to my sd card and let it runs it's process and i rebooted and my phone still won't get past boot animation. Now i can't get to my sd card and remove the file so i'm prett much stuck here. Any ideas?
Are you s-on or s-off? To remove the file, I usually take my sd card out and remove it in a computer.

If your hboot is 1.58, it will say Locked, but still s-off, so you should be fine. Unless you are trying to flash a rom that uses the newest HTC stock kernel, I recommend you downgrade your hboot to an earlier one (like 1.4). This will allow you to flash aosp and gb roms that will bootloop on the 1.58 hbbot.
I unlocked the bootloader and flashed cm9, but I want to go back to stock.
I downloaded rezound_AndroidPolice_4.03.605.2_PH98IMG.zip and pushed to /sdcard/ then rebooted into bootloader.
It didn't flash the stock image, it had an error but it went away too quickly to remember what it was.
So then I tried fastboot oem lock
and now my bootloader says
*** TAMPERED ***
*** RELOCKED ***
*** security warning ***
VIGOR PUT SHIP S-ON RL
HBOOT-2.25.0000
etc
how do I fix this?
That's normal, tampered means you have a custom recovery installed.
Now that your locked, you can successfully run the ruu. Rename it to PH98IMG.zip and place on the root of the sdcard. Boot onto bootloader and let it update. Make sure after it tells you to reboot the first time to let it run a second time. The second pass will take considerably longer to finish. It will finish by booting into the stock rom (or telling you to reboot)
As for getting rid of the relocked thing, you will need to first s off your device. Completing that process will take you back to locked. Then just s on to get rid of the s off text. And presto! No one will ever know you messed with your stock rezound

well after I relocked.. I couldn't put anything on the sdcard. [I'm not sure if the PH98IMG.zip is still there]
so I just unlocked bootloader again
I flashed TWRP, and am currently restoring the stock backup I made.
I'm not sure it'll do any good because I'm S-ON.
So tell me what I need to do first? boot into a rom so I can push the PH98IMG.zip again? how? currently it would just stick at the CM10 loading screen.. and I couldn't push to /sdcard/ because it wasn't mounted.
EDIT: ok, the TWRP restore worked. I am now booted back into a stock..but I want to flash this latest RUU I downloaded. What do I do? Do I push PH98IMG.zip to /sdcard/ first? Or do I relock bootloader first?
If I relock bootloader, will I still be able to boot into the rom?
If you can, use an sd card reader and use your pc to put it on there. Since you can no longer boot into your rom, either this or try and restore that nandroid and do it from within the booted rom.
If the PH98IMG.zip was on there before, you can check by just booting into bootloader. It should check for that file automatically

ohh so I can use the external sdcard?
I thought /sdcard/ = internal storage
I couldn't figure out where the micro sd mounted..
edit: I am pushing PH98IMG.zip to /sdcard/sd_ext/, so it will be on the micro sd. once it's done, do I power off, take out sdcard, fastboot oem lock, power off, insert micro sd, boot into bootloader, and it will flash the RUU?
edit2: well it looks like it's doing it! "Loading... [PH98IMG.zip]" So you say to do it again when it finishes? just boot into bootloader again and it will finish?
*sigh* I am never buying a locked bootloader device agian.

What type of file are you looking for, and what are you trying to do?
PG05IMG.zip (the third character from the left is a zero, not an uppercase letter) is the name you can give to files you intend to install through the bootloader. In order for the bootloader to find the PG05IMG.zip file on your SD card, the file must be placed on the root of the SD card, and not in a folder. I'm not sure what you're trying to install, or what caused your bootloop, but if you provide more information, you're much more likely to get replies with help specific to your problem.

I think an important detail you provided earlier has been overlooked; you CANNOT change radios while you are s-on. While your thunderbolt is s-on, the partition containing the currently installed radios is WRITE PROTECTED. Based on what you've said, I'm still not sure how your bootloop happened, or whether you are htcdev unlocked, have a temp root otherwise, or are unrooted and s-on. I'm not sure which firmware version you currently have installed either (it's been a long time) based on the version of hboot you posted above, but the thread below would be a great place to go if you're looking to obtain s-off and install new radios:

Do you have root? If not, are you running stock ICS? How did the bootloop originally happen? Are you trying to gain root and s-off to get your phone going again? If you're s-on and running the stock ICS update from April, the process to gain s-off will be complicated. You'll have to visit HTCdev, and get an unlock token, and download/install several files. Any additional details you can provide about your current software version, root status, cause of bootloop, etc. Will be useful to myself and other members of our community here in pointing you in the right direction. Software issues are recoverable, hardware issues, however, are not, that's why it's important to explain what went wrong and how it happened if there was a cause you can identify.

That's a bad situation. I would ask the owner/previous owner what happened before going any further. The lock screen password isn't a big deal. A factory data wipe, or installing the downgrade RUU will remove previously configured device security (you will lose data not stored to SD card or the cloud, with either course of action, be warned). You may already know this, but you have to check the box next to USB debugging in the developer options section of the phone settings menu in order for it to work, it won't turn on by default.

You may already know this, but you have to check the box next to USB debugging in the developer options section of the phone settings menu in order for it to work, it won't turn on by default.

Not sure what you mean, but, you can do a factory data wipe from there. That should help you to bypass the lock screen if you can get the ROM to boot.
