additional game data not downloading - TouchPad General

During the 10 cent salei grab up a bunch of games. A few such as need for speed installed fine.but on first launch want to download data complete the game. For what everreason on a few I get nothing downloaded. The status bar reads "Nan 0mb/120mb" and nothing downloads.
Yes wifi is on and games like wreckless downloadedthere additional data without issues.
Ideas?
Could I copy files off my desire and drop intothe folded on the touchpad?

Yes, that's how I did it. The folder you need to copy from your phone to the Touchpad is /sdcard/Android/data/com.eamobile.nfsshift_row_wf
Obviously all the data must be downloaded on the phone successfully. I did it using my HTC Desire HD.

[Q] Prime hdd nearly full!

Hi guys
My Prime has nearly full to capacity!
I have tons of apps and games and such, well lots of big download files.
Im not convinced that if i uninstall the game the downloaded data goes with it, hence the 800mb+ gameloft crud what comes with it.
is the there a simple app to delete in one click?
Im rooted if needed!
Kindest!
Check Astro File Manager, it has a built-in storage manager which will list folders by their size.
So it'll basically it'll list what folders are the biggest, so you can see if its from gameloft and then delete it if you don't need it.
EDIT: Perhaps get a Cache Cleaner app and let it clean out various caches from the storage? (Be careful though, and set it up, so it doesn't delete stuff you need.)
did you download the stuff from the market or off the internet? if you downloaded off the internet go to the downloads folder and delete the stuff in it.
also try getting a micro sd card and move some stuff over to it.

Try DiskUsage

Very useful to have a graphical view of disk and to quickly find files/folders to delete.

Gameloft stuff does tend to stick behind, and when deleting you might have trouble differentiating between the games you've had. Their naming conventions for their folders are a bit off, so you'll have to go by some trial and error.
Worst case scenario - you'll need to redownload the data again for the games you still have.

[Q] Major Mayhem (not spam), restore saved games after crash?

Threads I've found suggested that Major Mayhem was promoted inappropriately on the forum, this isn't a promotion. Also the games and apps forum said if I have a question it should go in Q&A not games and apps forum.
Basically, I have a HTC One X with Jellybean Rom installed and have found that you can run the battery out completely even if it's on ac charge. I was playing the game for ages and the ph switched off. I thought it might have been overheating but it turns out that I had to boot into clockwork recovery to charge for a bit before I could boot the phone normally. Quad core burns battery power really quick.
I did this playing Mayhem and when I reloaded it I found all my saves were gone. I've spent heaps of time building up my accomplishments in this game. Can anyone suggest what might be going on? I don't know about how apps work yet. Could someone tell me the save game file strutucre so I can see if it's renamed/corrupt/missing or something? The game appears functional but I've probably spent 80 hrs on it building up the rep. Maybe someone could guide me through the file structure or how I could track programs install pathways?
Thanks,
Fishy

Use a file browser such as Astro, navigate to where you installed the game and look for the games package name (For example com.xyz.majormayhem). Once you find that go into the folder and look for game save data files, and other data files that are usually stored there. Try searching through the general "data" folder as well.

What do you mean by install process breakdown? Do you mean install location? You can find out install location by going to system manager and seeiing if its installed on the internal or external storage. Also try a package explorer app that should give you more information.

He means that unlike windows wizard procedure, android owns user and device so it does not bother telling you where files are and even hides files from owner, so break down is both destroying that concept and make everything available to owner at his own leisure, and creating decent installation log viewer from google to be able to inch every tiny detail, as those which don't have nothing to hide do.

Ah I see, that would be an interesting app to develop although I imagine that it would require root access to get all the necessary information from the system to present a complete and detailed installation breakdown log.

[Q] Memory leak? Storage issue? What was it?

So the thing is that 2 days back I transferred Asphalt 8 obb file from Sony Xperia L to my Moto E into the folder Android/obb. Everything was working fine, game was running smoothly etc etc. Now today when I tried to open the game, it said that I don't have enough space left(1.92 gb) full. I was wondering why it needs more space!
Then I tried looking into apps space and every other place but couldn't find where the damn obb file went and yet space was full. I tried deleting obb folder but it kept saying operation failed. My data was taking up only 1 mb of all storage space.
Finally, in the end I had to factory reset and then the storage became normal once again.
So can anybody tell me what might be the cause of it? Only 2 apps were installed- Superbeam and Asphalt 8.
Also, anyway not to reproduce this problem again?
If you are rooted, next time you can use TricksterMod to rescan your media:
Trickster MOD-->Tools-->Media Scanner
If you don't have root and rebooting does not helps, there are many alternatives available on play store. Though I have not tried them.

Not sure but it seems relevant to the game data. 'Cause you were unable to delete it. IMHO, transferring game files from one device to another is not a sure shot process. I've experienced many issues with that. It is time and bandwidth consuming but you should prefer to re-downloading the game data.

[Q] Best way to move app data to SD Card

Has anyone got any recommendations on the best way to move my app data to SD Card on the Z2? For example the 1-2GB of data that many larger games download to internal storage, I'd like to put that onto the SD Card. I know there'll be a performance hit, but I want to be able to play around with it and at least give it a try to see how the performance is anyway.
I'm currently running the .402 firmware and am rooted without unlocking the bootloader.
I've tried FolderMount but the UI is rather sparse/counter-intuitive and the three apps I tried with on the free version seemed to either break entirely, or just re-downloaded their data back to internal storage.
I've checked out the ROM Toolbox, but the options to move to SD card are greyed out on every game I check, as is the convert to user app option (as I assume games downloaded from the Play Store are already set as User apps).
Folder mount should work fine, the problem is if you haven't set it to auto mount after boot, or you open the app before mounting is complete it won't find the data and thus redownloads it. Working fine with Co-pilot for me.
I did have it set to Auto-Mount after boot and was waiting for the progress bar to finish saying it had moved the data before trying to open the apps.
I think one of the main things I didn't like about the app was also the interface. It seemed impossible to actually undo anything once it was done, in the free version at least. Does the full version have a more fleshed out interface?
No, only difference is the limit on number of pairs is removed, long click on the pair should allow you to amend details of pairing. Yes UI is spare but it does work.

more space and faster without root?

The desire x is my business mobile, so i dont want to mess with it in case any problems and i get charged for the phone. to be honest i struggle, its terrible device compared to my personal phone.
I need maps to navigate around, the connection in London drops when im close to destination, i blame this on the tall buildings blocking signal but not sure if 100% the reason. i was told may help to download a map program and use this way, but there is no storage free, and i have only 2 small apps required for work.
Is there a way to delete apps like chrome and facebook / twitter which came pre-installed but i cant remove them.
I tried adding a sd card but it wont allow me to move apsp to sd card. ( so failing the deletion of apps, can i roll back the rom to a older version?
pretty weird that the data partition is full, when there are only 2 apps installed.
are you storing all your company-mail on your phone or something like that??
whatever, as first step you can try to locate the storage-hog by using a storage analyser like https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mobile_infographics_tools.mydrive&hl=de
i have downlaoded the program but not sure what i am lookign for?
can i remove the android APK files? surely once program isntalled i no longer need these?
A takes 591mb
O takes 127mb
App storage is taking 2.51Gb of 2.91 available.
Apps = 704Mb
other = 1.82Mb
Available - 408Mb but when i download the map program it requires me to download a large file for offline maps. plus i have this space as i deleted a few photos which were for work but old. so when i take photos this space decreases further.
the only apps i can uninstall are the two apps (about 40Mb each for work, plus i have pocket locker and now this analyser which have small footprints).
