Can anyone with a stock Wind Mobile Amaze 4G tell me what their Kernel Version, Baseband Version, and Build Numbers are?
Please only include fully update stock ROM's with all OTA's applied.
Thanks All.

Htcdev isn't unlocking for telus and wind users atm. They're working on bringing it back soon.
Wind is able to get the unlocked bootloader, telus not so much
Telus can also unlock the bootloader without problem...

I recently bought my galaxy note i717m from Bell in Canada and unlocked it with network unlock code purchased on internet. Then, I got someone from kijiji to root my phone and upgraded from ics to jb and made the phone to work with wind/mobilicity. I am now using a wind sim card on my phone but i found out that the jb system is very buggy and crashed too often, Anyone knows how to downgrade jb to ics or recommend a more stable jb rom? Does downgrading to ics or changing to a new rom will make my phone not supporting wind/mobilicity anymore? I dont know anything about android btw, anyone kind enough to write me a simple guide? Thanks a lot!

how to check?
Okay restart the phone by pressing power+ volume up and down at the same time until you see the first Samsung logo tht will take you to recovery that's is how you will see. Seems like you are new to this. Most of all the jb roms out there are good but buggy and also battery drainers I speak of past experience long story short if you want stability keep stock ics until jb is officially released...

Im now using Wind mobile, it is using the same frequency as tmobile. I just want to downgrade to ICS without touching on other things so that my phone can still support the AWS 1700 frequency.

Nice guide, thanks so much! However, my phone was bought from BELL store in Canada, does it the same stock rom as AT&T? When it was bought, it was locked to bell, unrooted and only support 1900/PCS frequency, does not support 1700/AWS frequency till I got someone from kijiji to help me turn on the AWS radio frequency support in the phone by flashing rom, rooting and stuff. If I follow your guide, would my phone get locked and lost support to AWS frequency?

This one you have to Odin it but ur ain't hard just make sure you back up all of your internal sdcard stuff since this Odin will wipe the crap out of the system lol happened to me luckily the external SD didn't got wiped. By the way
By doing this you will loose root and also clockworkmod you have to re root the phone

That means the phone would not support wind sim card and its AWS frequency just like when it was bought at the bell store, locked?

Works great in India, although you wont get OTA updates. So, you have to DL the RUU.exe to update the phone.
Mine worked fine in Canada on Rogers Wireless and is working fine in the USA on AT&T. Just need to add the appropriate APN data of course.
it works in India as i'm currently using it
and don't worry about OTA updates as there aren't any
when updates come just put the mode in CDMA and update it
Thanks
Thanks everyone. And please come to this thread, would appreciate any help

I simply unlocked the bootloader via HTC Dev, facepalm s-off, recovery, etc.
Then flashed CM10.1 & Gapps. Everything including data is working fine, just having a few common issues as noted in CM10.1 thread such as MMS problems
SIM slot is factory unlocked

I have unlocked bootloader using the manual method from mdmower's post here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2214653
and I'm using Facepalm S-Off as well and using CWM recovery. After I flashed CM 10.1 and Gapps and inserted my sim card the most data I get is E. For the APN I'm using the post from the T-Mobile website here:
http://support.t-mobile.com/docs/DOC-1979
I have also used the *#*#4636#*#* in the dialer to access the Testing menu and change to WCDMA preferred. Any ideas what I might be doing wrong?
Thanks :good:
This is probably a stupid question but hey, can't hurt to get some input.
I have recently found myself in possession of an AT&T Galaxy Mega. I have T-Mobile as my carrier so have no intention of using the built in 4G from AT&T. Can I flash a T Mobile rom and baseband to it? I assume this will brick it and I am better off just leaving it be and using it as a plain wifi-only tablet but want to verify with the experts.
I am no novice to flashing/roming and the occasional brick recovery
Sorry, but you can't flash ANY rom to the ATT Mega. No one has been able to unlock the bootloader.
But, I'm sure, if you search, you will find folks are using a t-mobile sim in the ATT version.

Yeah, was hoping a stock rom from another carrier wouldn't need an unlocked loader. Ah well,, am rooted and just waiting for the official 4.4 then.
Thanks for the input!
What's the difference between them?
(GPe, HTC Unlocked, HTC Developer)
I got regular AT&T version. Amber gold.
Sent from my HTC One_M8 using Tapatalk
GPe is stock vanilla android. It is running what the nexus devices would run without Sense software on top of it.
The Dev model is basically the same as carrier models except it is SIM unlocked and you already have unrestricted access to the phone to develop or flash roms. Still has sense on it.
Good thing about having the M8 on at&t means we can easily turn our carrier versions into a developer version or GPe.

with soff, it doesn't matter which one you get. You can unlock the phone and once ruu's become available, you can truly convert to any variant. I would not convert to gpe because of partition size. Just flash gpe roms if you want to use it.

Once the sense RUU become available moving back to sense won't be an issue as the RUU will restore the sense partition size.
I purchased the developer edition because I was not due for an upgrade and it was the same price at the time. I also like the fact that it is not branded. All I had to do was flash recovery, super user and then S-Off. It won't be long until a ruu and fuu becomes available. Along with a recovery switcher that is in the works.

GPE is stock Android and will receive updates ASAP (the M7 GPE got 4.4 10 days after release)
HTC Unlock is just sim free. Use it on any GSM network.
HTC Developer editor has the bootloader unlocked from the factory and doesn't void your warranty if you root etc. It's also sim unlock
I have a AT&T branded M8 because I knew it would be dev friendly and I can easily convert to GPE if wanted. Plus I don't plan on leaving AT&T anytime soon so sim unlock isn't important to me. I can always unlock it myself later

I picked up the ATT branded version because I was eligible for Next so it was convenient. I'll probably pay it off soon anyway. So far I'm pretty happy with my purchase.
I picked up an at&t model and just s-off'ed the device so when the dev ruu drops I will convert to that

Yeah GPE is not stock vanilla android (read: aosp like the nexus comes with and who's source code is out to build on from google), it is HTC's senseless android build for a stock vanilla "feel".

I have developer edition.
I have an HTC One max for Verizon. It works on GSM and CDMA. Is there is a way to install an international RUU and force it to stay on GSM/4G_LTE only? I tried changing CID and MID to match international or developer version, but RUU wont finish successfully. I am trying to use the phone for T-Mobile USA. Please let me know if you have any advice for me. Thanks a lot guys.
Interesting id like to do the same with a Sprint variant ..for 4g

No and while you may be able to change cid and mid And we may be able to flash other ruu, certain radio bands won't be enabled this you would likely need. That takes an NV tool like qpst to enable and is very risky if done by an amateur.
Best bet is to buy a different variant (T6_ul)
