I am using system tuner pro and I was wondering how to read the cpu speeds that I see there. When it is set "ondemand" mode it sometimes shows two cpus working but sometimes it shows the second cpu offline or it doesn't show it at all. Is it normal? So question is, how to read these datas and how to know the processor is performing alright?

Because although this thread's title says faux kernel, it doesn't concern only faux kernel but it is a question about kernels in general+by opening a new thread in the general section it would be easier even for somebody else who is not a pro when it comes to dev to find the answer in this thread rather than reading every single page in that thread trying to find the answer to similar question. Makes sense?

Call it "kernel performance" or faux kernel makes no difference. If you have an answer and can help that would be appreciated otherwise I think is waste of time for you to make such comments( binary is moderator, totally understand his concern why post such question here, but you make no sense at all explaining what the search button is for

I too wondered about that app and how to read it and understand it, but it has nothing to do with faux's kernel. Just kernels in general and that app. So I don't have any helpful info, but second the request for more info or explanations about our processor and the system tuner app. I think they meant earlier thata different title might make someone more inclined to help...that's all.
Valid/good question, though. Anyone have some experience about kernels and system tuner?

On the contrary naming your title "Faux Kernel" does make a difference. You stated in your first post titled Faux Kernel and mentioned an app suggested in the Faux Kernel thread so which concludes that you've at least visited that page. So instead of posting your question there you decided to start a new one. When questioned about it you say " it doesn't concern only faux kernel but it is a question about kernels in general" so I'm going to rename this "General Kernel Question" so I won't have to go through the trouble of moving your question to Faux thread. By the way it is only 25 pages long. It would be much shorter if people wouldn't post off topic comments. I spend maybe about a minute on average for each page catching up. Sorry that you don't have at least a half hour of free time. At least it's not like one of xboarders rom threads.
But I'm going to answer your GENERAL KERNEL question. Yes it's normal. But all of your quesions other than that is explain in the very first post of... Faux's thread. Dude... there's even pictures.

Don't post in dev sections if you need help with something, especially if no-one can understand what your question is or how the can help. Ask in Q&A, you're far more likely to get help there.
If you mean that "3g" does not really work on your device and nothing happens when you try loading a website, i can tell you it IS actually that slow. but JieeHD is right, please post questions in Q&A...
which leads me to one question: how the hell is he able to do his first (!!) post in dev section?! when i joined, there still was some 10-posts-rule...

Yeah its a good rule, keeps the threads cleaner IMO. I know there is possibly users out there that have some useful info to share but its rare. I think we need to ask a mod what's going on, I'll ask pulser when I get the chance.

yeah definately does ;D but i can remember when i first rooted and installed elelinux (it was 0.2 back then ) i noticed some issues but was unable to report them.. and it took until 0.5 when someone noticed and ele fixed.. i think in special situations there should be possibilities to send some pm to a mod , would help to find bugs earlier... especially new users do alot play around and maybe find something we would never have tried?
thank you for asking, keep me up to date would be interested, maybe this is another strange xda-premium thing? were you able to instantly post in dev section with your xda pro app?

3) I think the OP is wonder if the 3G data usage is somehow connected to the H icon that appears when data is being used. Maybe, maybe not.

But then after googling the terms in the custom search, there was a moderator opening going on about a year ago today. So maybe that got dug up and screwed over? Anyway, I wasn't interested so I barely looked at the date. Will keep my eyes open though!

Hey guys! Long story short, I unlocked, rooted and installed Clockwork as my recovery and it kept hanging when I was trying to do a backup.
I got frustrated and impatient so I just flashed CleanRom without doing a backup first. I love CleanRom and all, but if I wanted, can I go back to stock now that I don't have a backup?
Any info would be appreciated, thanks!
What is your definition of stock? Unrooted? Relocked? Untouched rom? Somemore information would be helpful to guide you in the right direction.

If you want to go back to stock. Relock your phone and grab the RUU. It will put you back from whence you came.

First and foremost read THIS from beginning to end. Stop posting questions in the Dev section...despite how special you think you are...you're not. Post in general or maybe searching is a great idea.
If you want a stock ROM here. To go back to complete stock you need to relock the phone and flash the latest RUU IIRC...

People posting in wrong sections and asking questions that have been asked about a million times get's very annoying. Have at it if that is what YOU want...if the OP would've used the search function, he/she would've found what they were looking for.
If you guys want to continue to baby people and spoon feed information to them then knock yourself out. If you post a new thread non-development thread in a development thread be prepared.
Jesus H. Christ on a pogostick, people. A "Development" forum isn't just for the Devs. It's also for people using the fruits of the devs' labors. Sometimes, they have questions. If they didn't, they'd probably be developing on their own, and XDA wouldn't need to exist. Sure, using search is advisable, dare I say it, recommended. But there is no reason to get nasty.
I've been a part of XDA since WinMo 5, and I left for a long time due to nastiness like this. I'm no developer. I just use what gets made, and I'm damn grateful for it. But there a reason XDA is slowly seeing a mass exodus to RootzWiki: Less (but still existent) dickery. Yes, what the devs do is a courtesy to the community. No, they shouldn't have to answer the sane questions repeatedly. The search doesn't always cut it, and it isn't always used. Wouldn't it just be easier to either quickly answer and encourage search usage politely or to quote and respond with a link to the relevant post? Even better yet, those of us that aren't devs but are at least semi-knowledgeable could give our service to the board and aid the devs by politely answering in their stead. Novel frickin idea.

I didn't just be a **** and exit the thread as I have seen quite a bit on this particular forum. Do you realize more than half the time the Devs aren't the ones answering the repeated questions?

As is stated, do not post your questions in development forum. Before you start a new thread ask yourself this: "is what I'm posting a rom or a kernel?" or "is this a guide for development?"
If it is none of those, then post it in another forum.

"Battery problem with xboarder's bulletproof" cannot be anymore specific but yeah lets open new threads and become famous to the op, might be smarter asking where bulletproof belongs, that way you might get more feedback from bulletproof's users. As it regards ur concern, just deactivate automatic sync of social networks and ur battery life will be back to normal. Nothing to do with kernels
before this turns into a flame war...not everyone is able to post in the development section especially if they are new...the question belongs here since we do not have a Q/A section.
Let's get back to the topic. to the OP: can you be more specific about what is going on with your battery? 1 percent when screen is off or screen is on???
You could recalibrate your battery. Charge to 100 then go to recovery and wipe the battery stay, then unplug and drain the battery completely. After another full charge, battery life should improve.

The draining is from that the power manager can't step down the cpu. There is a process that is interfering with the power manager.
I have not had such problems. My battery lasts around 14-16 hours with normal to heavy use. That is with wifi on all the time, calls, some games, and lots of trolling around the Internet. Did you flash the kernel that is included in the zip file? And if so are you over clocked? Like someone else already said, calibrate your battery. There is an app for it in the market that make it idiot proof.
Just get the kernel from an older version and system tuner under clock it. Or try another rom fourth bar ics theme been good for me

EDIT: PUTTING HELPFUL STUFF HERE?
Each persons use and what the expect of the phone is different. If you have wakelocks keeping your phone awake due to a rogue app, you will have less of a battery life than others. Asking people what they use is like asking what browser they use. Some might be better than others but it depends on what you like and what you are used to.
Oh and if something makes a difference, look at the amounts of thanks compared to the # of posts... and he even has a "GIVE ME THANKS" sig.... If you have to ASK for thanks, something is wrong with you.
Entropy512s kernel is basically legendary for how good it is. I've read people love 12/8, and 2/07 I believe and a few others. I use his latest.
I've read Siyah is good too, people claim better battery live on 2.6.8 and 2.6.9.
I wouldn't say either is "best" but I prefer Entropys. It's smooth and comes with CWM verses the, I believe, redpill in Siyah.
Sent from my SGH-I777 using Tapatalk
Kernel alone has little to do with battery life. There are so many factors affecting battery usage that the premise of your question is worthless and is the reason these kinds of threads get closed. They serve no purpose. As was said, try them for yourself because that's the ONLY way you will find what works best for you, your phone and the way you use it. There are no shortcuts in this regard.

I use Energy doesn't matter Blue or Stock Look. You can also go to Amaze Development Section and read the OP of each Rom and see what is and isn't working on each of them.

One guy telling him to use the search function is fine, 2-4 of you guys coming in to a thread just to laugh and belittle him isn't, and is basically spam posting.

I don't think anyone was trying to belittle anybody. And spam posting? The whole thread is nothing but a spam post considering its about the 10th thread created about this same subject
