Have your TP connected to the power supply and hold the power and middle button down for at least 15-20 seconds, it should turn on the HP logo, then to webos. Make sure to hold them down for at least that long, maybe even longer. It should turn on. If it doesn't, hopefully someone else will chime in with the solution. Good luck!

I have a TAB 10.1, that WONT turn on, and WONT charge, I don't have the receipt as I have received it as a gift, however Samsung took it for repair AND DID NOT REPAIR IT ! Very disappointing!
Is there any other solution to fix it, when I plug it into the computer still nothing...
Please get back to me guys, need your help, thanks
did you tried holding the power button a little bit longer?
It happens from time to time. Just keep it charged and try to turn on from time to time (sometimes holding the button for multiple seconds). Eventually it will turn on. It's the standby of death problem.

yes, I tried everything, holding power down for up to a minute, holding power and volume up and down, also holding the power button while touching the screen, still nothing...
Try connecting to computer.
Or maybe its Sleep of Death issue. Search for it. you will get solutions like draining your battery completely.

Did you try Power button, then volume down button (only, don't touch the power up) for 8-10 seconds while still holding the power button, then letting off the volume down button? It always works for me.

So I used my nook tablet all day yesterday and this morning. I put it down to goto lunch.. came back and noticed my wifi was not on.. I checked settings and it showed "Wifi turning off" and it was grayed out and just stuck.
I've seen this before with other android devices so no biggie. I powered the unit off.
Now it won't turn back on. Holding the power button now for about 20 secs and nothing.
The battery is at like 80% and I even plugged it in to see if it helped but no good.
I did root it at 1.4.0 and used the Block OTA method with titanium backup but nobody else seems to have a problem.
Is there a way to boot in recovery or something ? Perhaps a trip back to B&N will be needed.
Ok.. holding vol down + power for around 8 secs got it back on. Weird
i have noticed this a few times. Not sure why but never lost anything

I had a similar problem. I couldn't get the tablet to turn on. I discovered in a Kindle Fire forum that you could get the Fire to start when stuck in the off position by holding down the power button for 20 seconds. I tried that with my Nook and it started right up.
Thank! That worked! I was having the same issue. Said Wifi was turning off and all went blank and couldn't reboot. You gave me the answer.
Cheers.
I have had the wifi "turning off" issue. Rather than turn off the nook, I used the menu that you get with a long press of the power button when you install either ROM manager or titanium backup, can't remember which. It has rebooted every time without issue.
The Wifi issue is a known problem. You can set the wifi to stay awake when on the charger and this problem wont happen. Add the power widget so that you can turn the wifi off when not connectwd to the charger. This combo fixes the wifi issue. When your Nook experiences a kernel error it will appear as if it is off but if you hold it at angle, you will notice backlight is on. Just hold nook button and power and it will turn off...then power to reboot rom.

Actually, it's happened to me twice while I had WiFi set to never sleep when charging.

I rooted my Nook Tablet and it worked fine yesterday. Now it won't turn on and isn't recognized by my PC. I hear the windows alert when a usb device is connected but when I try to do anything via adb I always get 'error: device not found'.
I tried doing adb get-state and all I got was 'unknown'
I tried booting into recovery via holding the power button + n for various amounts of time, but nothing happened.
Does anyone have any ideas? It was working fine yesterday and I haven't changed anything on it since I used it last.
Hold the power button down for about 10 seconds. let it sit for a minute, then hold the power button for another 5 seconds or so and release. It should boot up. (assuming your battery is charged)

I had to do a reset (power button + Home) twice so far. Each time it happened after I left the tablet to recharge overnight. It did not turn on as it normally does when you unplug the charger.
I must admit that the (power button + Home) reset does not seem to be cut & dry. The routine quoted above worked the first time. The second time, I tried it several times then finally I tried the pwr button by itself and it went on.
Mine just did this Power and vol down got it running again.
Hey guys wondering if anyone experienced the phone being basically bricked without actually unlocking, rooting or anything.
It has happened before one, just laying on the table and the phone turning off but it came back on after a while.
Today it occurred again but has not turned back on for two days. When charging the only light is the LED flashing constantly every second. If I hold the power button and volume up then the flashing of the LED changes pace to One long flash (1 sec) to two quicker flashing ones (.5 seconds). If I unplug it and plug the phone back, The LED flashing is back to the original constant pace.
When unplugged sometimes holding the power and volume up button initiates the LG logo and then turns off and then shows the logo once more and then turns off for good.
If I plug this into the computer, its like someone ejecting a usb and plugging it in like a maniac. I heard the connecting and disconnecting sounds from windows nonstop like as if its about to blow up.
I've tried holding the power button for a minute the same goes with different combinations with the volume buttons.
The only thing I haven't tried is opening the phone, kind of afraid I will mess it up. Any solutions?

Never heard of this but I can throw a few suggestions out. Try unplugging, then holding both Volume buttons and the power button (All three) for about 10 seconds. Try different USB ports.
Try this if all else fails: Source: http://cellphoneforums.net/lg/t348484-perform-master-hard-reset-lg-optimus-g.html#axzz2YPtvkfDk
To Perform a Master Reset via Hardware
1. Turn off your device.
2. With the device turned off, press and hold the Volume Down key as well as the Home key at the same time.
3. While both the Volume Down key and the Home key are held down, press the Power button.
4. When the LG logo appears, release all the keys.
5. Scroll to and highlight wipe data/factory reset by pressing the Volume Down key. Then press the Power button.
6. Scroll to and highlight Yes – delete all user data by pressing the Volume Down key. Then press the Power button.
7. As soon as the wipe has been completed, press the Volume Down key to scroll to and select wipe cache partition. Press the Power button when ready.
8. As soon as the wipe has been completed, press the Power button to select reboot system now.
9. The master reset should now be successfully completed and your LG Optimus G should restart.

Anyways, doesnt matter guys thanks for trying, decided to just go in att and buy a samsung s4
So, i was trying to install TWRP into my lg g3 and when i tried to go into recovery mode, it turned off and during the lg logo screen a little message appeared: error boot certification verify. Now everytime i try to turn it on the same happens. Also, my pc won´t recognise the device, can´t enter into download mode or hard reset it. And the red and blue leds are blinking all the time. Please help
hmmm, ok ive had that happen before, you corrupted the boot.img but theres a way! have no fear!
For some people its difficult, it takes a little skill to get the VS985 into recovery, remove your battery, then reinsert it, make sure its NOT plugged into a USB wire, press and hold power and volume down, once you feel the phone vibrate, let it go and immidiately press it again! keep holding, it may take some finesse to do it, but once you see the factory reset screen go down to factory reset and select it with the power button then press YES, and it will take you to TWRP, hopefully you know what to do from there.
plan B is, remove the battery from the phone, and reinstert it, plug a USB cable into a PC, make sure the phone is off, Press and Hold volume UP, and insert the USB cable, keep holding volume up until you see that youre in download mode
hopefully this helps

Hi
Crushed my screen and need to shut down the phone. Anyone know what to do?
Screen is currently not working at all, just showing some blue spots.
Pushing the power button for 10-15 seconds just make the phone restart.
I have also tried to shut down with various modes of Volume +/- while pushing power button, no luck.
Anyone have an idea here?
Appreciate anything.
Thanks.

Not possible, the screen is completely inactive.
Need to find the "button" to push for 20 seconds so it gets turned off, not restarted as it does now.

Ok. When booted, plug in usb from computer.
Hold power and volume up until phone vibrates, release Power button.
Keep holding volume up for about 20 seconds (this should be a lot faster with bootloader locked) then release volume up.
Wait for another 10 seconds to be safe.
(If you hear it connecting to computer it's not actually done booting to eRecovery yet)
Now, click on Volume down twice, then power. Device should now shut down.

Excellent, thanks.
This seems to have worked, are no more blue spots left on the screen, so believe it to be shut down.
God lørdag fra Oslo
just wait until the battery dies
