Hi there,
the last days I played with my motorola milestone with CM 7.1.2 (Android 2.3.7) ROM and "found" an power settings menu, where I can set such things like "enable bluetooth if device charge" and many other usefull things.
Now, I tried to access this again but I can't. Now, I found not much about it but I found here some users which also find a/this menu: http://androidforums.com/evo-4g-tips-tricks/354267-hidden-power-saving-menu.html
Now, question: How this settings can reached? So far I can remember, I access this settings by "Settings -> About the phone -> Battery usage" and there was an entry which I call. Then I pressed a button for this settings and see them.
Any Idea how this menu can reached?

Is there a way in VEGAn-TAB 7 to select "Sleep" mode from the menu that pops up when you disengage (now shows "Power Down" and "Reboot" among other selections. but no "Sleep" selection). Also, is there a "Help" capability for Android 2.3.3 or the VEGAn-TAB 7, to give us new-to-Android users some assistance to understand how to use or work with this Android system and this ROM? All this is my first venture into Android land, and even though I've learned a lot by going from screen to screen and menu to menu, I could really use some additional help info along the way. For example, some of the icons and what they are for is unclear. In the menu, I understood the icon for WiFi and Volume, but not the other icons that are displayed (the volume icon intechanges with another unknown icon). Thanks for any help on this.
This is especially frustrating to me because I'm an old (now closing in on 76 years) technical writer who wrote PC software and hardware manuals for close to 25 years. But that's another story.
Hey i recently bought an Case with an included USB Keyboard for my 101.
But I noticed each time a "android related key" (ESC, Win-Key, Menu-Key, all arrow-keys, F1-F4) is pressed the device wakes up.
Is there any way to deactive this?
I remember there have been options in CM7 on my Cellphone for activating options like "wake up on home key",...
So they are propably set for wakup events somewhere (even in UD).
As far as I found out the keys are emulated as follows:
ESC -> back
Menu-Key, F1 -> Menu
Win-Key -> Home
F2 -> ?, Phone perhaps?
F3 -> Contacts
F4 -> Power
Arrow-Keys -> Directional Pad
Another option would be to deactive the USB port while in sleep - which actualy would be the best for me atm - as the keyboard would't take power then aslso...
Is this possible somehow?
Any help appreciated.

EDIT: Answers like "pull the cable while powered off" - are known by the author...
can't believe nobody uses a USB Keyboard here and seems to have this "problem"
anyway here is what i found yet...
http://www.kandroid.org/online-pdk/guide/keymaps_keyboard_input.html
looks promising - but i don't get how i can use it for an external keyboard - seems its just for internal ones....!??!
another problem i found is - in terminal emulator (no matter wich one i used) it seems i can't use all keys. So for example "del" key doesn't delete but print out ^@.
So each "not supported" key gives out ^@...
still glad for any help
also found this:

sounds promising - will report any results
Hey all,
picked up my tab 10.1 yesterday and loving it! One niggle i'm having that cant seem to solve is that when you type a search into the address bar on the browser, it defaults to the google.com version, and therefore when im looking for some things it brings me back to dollars and US websites! (Im in the UK )
does anyone know how to change it so that it searches on google.co.uk instead?

you can try setting the www.google.co.uk url in browser -> settings -> general -> set homepage
also try browser -> settings -> privacy & security -> enable location (check)
you can get the settings by swiping thumb from left or right edge which pops the quick controls

Yup thanks seems to do the job - cheers.
I have been lurking on this site for a while. Let me say thank you to all the developers here, its incredible that you would take time out of your life to help other people with our miniscule problems that we bring upon ourselves.
Anyway I recently upgraded from cyanogenmod 9 to cyanogenmod 10 on my Samsung infuse 4g. In the 9th version, there was a section in the system menu for developer tools. In it was a bunch of options but the one i am concerned with is the cursor. Actually i cant recall what it is called but when enabled, it shows a little circle wherever the screen is being touched. I love that feature and i figured it would still be in the 10th version but i cannot find it. I dont know what to search for to find information so i had to create this account and ask.
Okay i was playing with the settings and i found this.
Settings - Lock Screen - Slider shortcuts - drag the dot to a new location - activities - Dev tools - Pointer Location
but when i lock the screen and then unlock it and slide the dot to the icon, it just brings up a kind of app. the one in CM9 was global and it was different, it didnt track the touch, just showed it...
found it (?)
okay i found how to enable it but its hidden like a *****
Had to set Dev tools to the slider icon, then save, lock the screen, unlock it, slide to the dev tools icon, and the developer options is THERE. WHO PUT IT THERE?! How were we supposed to get to it? The dev tools contain many useful features. I use the long press back key kill app feature, and some people might use the max background processes to free up memory. You can change transition animation timing, and lots of other things. IDK why they hid it away on CM10 unlike CM9.
Anyway thats where the dev tools are. Question answered, maybe it will help someone else.

Go to settings - About Phone - And press on the "build number" for 7 times.
You will get a message saying "You're now a developer" or something.
And the Developer Options menu should be available in settings.
I tried to find this on here but it's hard to search a forum about modding Android devices with the main search word being "settings".
I just got CM10.1.0 on my Nook Tablet, build number cm_acclaim-userdebug 4.2.2 JDQ39E and I don't have the settings softkey in certain apps. I remember on my G-Nex there was a way to override when the settings key was off and on to make it so it was always on but I don't see how to do that in my settings now.
Anyone know a workaround for this?
