[Q] WT19i CM 7 + Rage Kernel, help?

Phone info:
WT19i || rooted || unlocked bootloader || cwm
android 2.3.4
stock rom
x kernel
build 4.0.2.A.0.58
downloaded latest nightly CM from here: http://www.get.cm/?device=coconut&type=nightly
confused which kernel to download from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=24553704&postcount=75
I'm a bit confused. Can you please help me?
Please correct me if this is wrong...
Steps I'm about to take:
Flash rage kernel -> then flash cm7. (or do i need to reflash stock kernel first?)
Questions:
- Can I flash kernel and rom from CWM?
- Will I lose my root/cwm when I do the steps?
- If I accidentally flash a kernel that is incompatible with the rom what would happen?
- Any list of kernels that works well with CM7?
Thanks for helpers.
Help. I'm having a hard time installing rage kernel 2.9 for FXP, after I flash it. It won't boot and it won't enter recovery mode. Because of that, I can't install the cm7.2 rom. For now I went back to X kernel. x______X Help please?
Or do I install the rom first before the kernel? Help pleaseee...
Edit: Nvm, fixed it. Found the solution on the original Rage kernel thread
- "If you used KRsH Kernel or X kernel before you need to restore /system/lib/modules/ with stock files. Or just simply flash this: signed-mango_stock_modules.zip (2.3.4) or this ics_wifi_modules-signed.zip (4.0.4) via recovery."

- Kernel can only be installed via fastboot, read forum or my tutorial for more info. For better battery life, use Rage Kernel 2.7 from that topic. ROM needs to be installed via Recovery.
- Root and CWM are included in the kernel already, no need to worry about that.
- Bootloop.
- That Rage Kernel and the original kernel provided with the ROM(in .zip file).

These modules are only related to WiFi.
First install the kernel, else you cannot install the ROM in Recovery.
Make sure your bootloader is unlocked, then install the kernel via fastboot, then enter Recovery(already in kernel, no need to install) and install the ROM.

installing dynamic rom xperia U

These are the instructions
- Flash u.elf kernel
- CWM flash rom
- Flash ICS stock kernel.elf
Despite searching, this noob cannot find where to download u.elf kernel and ICS stock kernel elf.
Any assistance is well appreciated.
surely question is not too retarded to merit a reply

[Q] How to flash anthrax kernel evo 3d gms

Hello and welcome all,
At start sorry for my poor english, its not my native language,
I wanna to ask how to flash latest (3.7.0) anthrax kernel ?
I downloaded it from official anthrax forum and its packed as a .zip, it containts folder (meta-inf etc.)
Generally i know how to use fastboot, recovery etc. but kernel is always as boot.img... and here problem starts.
I am s-on , hboot 1.53.007
Just tell me how to flash this zip via example fastboot.
Thanks in advance, Bazyl93
I think anthrax (and other kernels with aroma?) needs s-off to flash it through recovery
Yes anthrax requires s-off, i would suggest you ask in the anthrax forums, not here
(Don't ask me for help as I couldn't care if your phone explodes, eh! )
Thanks
Thanks for answers ill try to flash it, i will post results for future info ^^
Ill succesfuly flashed latest anthrax kernel. On s-on, using 4ext touch recovery. All features working fine

[Q] where kernal is located in mobile?

hi . this is my first andro. i already done google but stil cant find my answer in right way.
i came to know it is in boot.img(corect me pls if i m wrong)
then why kernal sources is so big like 2 gb
and boot.img is just 4.7 mb in hd.
so finaly is kernal a softwear to make boot.img with linux?
pls clearify me.
During the ROM installation whether stock/custom ROM, boot.img flash to boot partition as image. So you cannot see boot.img in phone
If you want to change the kernel (boot.img).. You have to flash from recovery
the kernel is not present as a code or a single file in android...u can its directly the executable kernel present... the kernel source code has lots f things. and boot.img is not the kernel... its the boot image... not kernel image... it is loaded at the time of boot. before the kernel is loaded..

[Q] AOKP 4.2.2 with KangBang 1.3 and PhilZ Touch Recovery possible?

Hello guys,
I'm using the following ROM http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1290468 with KangBang 1.3 kernel and the correspondig recovery (CWM 6.0.3.2).
I'd rather have PhilZ Touch Recovery installed, so the question is: is it possible to create a flashable ZIP file containing the KangBang kernel AND PhilZ Recovery at the same time (unified kernel)?
If so, can someone do this or at least explain it to me, becaue I've never compiled a kernel or similar?
Thanks!!
Seriously, no one?
One last bump...
