Was shopping at Fry's today and I saw the price tag saying "Samsung Galaxy S II WHITE", specs are exactly the same as Black one.. but don't know if it's true or not, didn't bother asking the employee to find it. Probably a mislabel or something is my guess since I can't seem to find a white version of the SGSII on AT&T website or anywhere....
Knowing Fry's and the kind of people that work there, it's most likely a missprint.
That'd be sweet
White skyrocket?
Sent from my GT-P7510 using Tapatalk
Maybe they got it confused with the tmobile galaxy s2
^The sign was in AT&T section.. and T-Mobile version and Skyrocket has 1.5 GHz Dual-Core which they list it in the price tag.
That would NOT be cool. My return period is over x.x
The sprint version with the same 1.2ghz as ours was just announced in white....

Fry's don't sell Sprint phones though. They only sell Verizon, T-Mobile, and AT&T (contract phones), at least in the Bay Area.
Searching the PLU gives the original black one, however there might be a white one coming, and they put in the wrong name...

White Skyrocket's official. Goddamit, if only my return period was still on x.x
^I thought skyrocket white has been official for a while? xD
Yeah it came out exactly a month ago, actually.

Is it true this is the at &t carrier branded version of the galaxy s 2? it has the same specs as the galaxy s II except for a bigger screen ( 4.5") and it lacks a a dualcore processor, does this mean the galaxy s II will not be released for at & T ?
I think the Infuse will come out at the end of this month or early next month, but the sgs 2 won't come to US carriers until end of this year.

the end of the year? the samsung captivate (also on at & t) was released just one month after the international galaxy s
Personally I'd rather have the larger screen (for video playback) than dual core.
there's a May date floating around for SG2
May?!?!?! I really wanted April. =\
Yea a lot of people are forgetting about the Infuse. I likes the idea and design but Im definitely going to be getting the Galaxy S 2

Samsung came out today saying that the leaked specs were inaccurate. So while the device may be the SGS3 the specs may not.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1215034
I'll take a wild guess, and say that might actually be the model name for Samsung Hercules, which is just SGS2 with a slightly larger screen
which already got pictures leaked out for Telus and Tmobile USA
I think Samsung will hold back S3 specs until Apple play their hand. Apple remain very cute at the moment with I4 still doing amazing.

ICS is coming to the note in Q2!! Read This http://www.mobileburn.com/19014/new...ite-to-update-galaxy-note-to-android-40-in-q2
yes but is this for the AT&T note?
From everything I can see, no date yet for the AT&T note. TBD.

Yes from q2, which means starting in q2. So international will get in first in q2, and the carriers will get it a few months later likely.

I'm going to take a shot in the dark and say ICS was post-poned until Q2 so that this could be a full rollout; meaning within days the first to the last note should recieve it's OTA.
Seriously, look at the publicity behind this device. I honestly think AT&T and Samsung managed to NOT be assholes this time.
Isn't this just for the regular note and not the LTE version.

I dnt remember what samsung was advertising in its facebook official page, but there was this pic of the galaxy note i717 running ics...so maybe it is closer than we might think
Someone say angry birds? Not in a hurry for ICS, already enjoying it on my Transformer.
Sent from my Transformer TF101 using Tapatalk
Even though at&t is "promoting" the Note, you think they are going to roll out ICS quickly? It might cause harm to their "flagship" icrap.
I went into an at&t store on release day of the note to get a case for my international note & I about fell over dead when I saw a poster on the wall with the note. Something besides crapple.
Probably gonna get this Ics in Canada early

I think most of this hype is actually directed at the International version. Samsung even mentions the Note's "powerful 1.4ghz processor" in the newest Angry Birds PR. That sounds to me like the Exynos phones will get ICS first (GII and I Note) and then if we're lucky the Snapdragon models (SR and I717)
And that still doesn't count the carrier development time. I keep my original estimate of ICS on the AT&T I717 at October 1st and the Canadian versions in late summer.
Call me cynical but....
Of course the dev roms will flow alot sooner.

ICS was postponed on the international version because the current ICS leaks suck and Samsung probably doesn't want to release another half assed software update. I would be very surprised if AT&T sees this in Q2

Ok so i have had my galaxy s captivate for 1.5 years and love it. ATT now has a sale until March 28th to get the sgs2 for 9.99 as my upgrade. My question is should i grab this great deal or wait on the sgs3 which is going to be expensive as hell.
Sent from my SGH-I897 using xda premium
You should definitely get it!
Development has skyrocketed for the Galaxy S II and there's dozens of ROMs available, but the Galaxy S III seems ok but if you're impatient for ROMs 'n' stuff you're better with the Galaxy S II.
better wait for sgs3 and see what it offers and its price and sgs2 price will drop after sgs3
If price is a factor go for it. The S2 is a massive upgrade from the S1.
Sent from my GT-I9100T
if you can wait and afford it, then theres no question. the s3. no amount of roms can make 8 mp 12, dual core into 4 and so on. youll be competing with the best of the high end the likes of the s2 and the 4s.
unless the s3 turns out to be a pile of snot upon release ofcourse.
as an s2 owner since last may, i can say that i picked a gnexus on upgrade but found that the s2 was on a par or better in some respects. the s3, if it bests the s2, is a no brainer.
If that 9.99 is a one off payment its a bet to nothing .

Thanks for the replies. Gonna grab it after work at 5. Any ICS roms recommended or should i stick with GB?

This means he is an AT&T user in the USA, and is talking about an upgrade to the Galaxy SII for AT&T, or the Skyrocket. No chance he'll be able to upgrade to the GT-I9100. AT&T doesn't offer the I9100 at all.
OP, ATT has their own model of Galaxy SII, which is the SGH-I777, and another variant for LTE called the Skyrocket, which is the SGH-I727.
You are currently in the forum for the GT-I9100, which is the international model of the Galaxy SII. There are similarities between the SGH-I777 and the GT-I9100, but there are differences as well. Firmwares are not totally compatible between the two. If you flash an I777 firmware to an I9100, or vice versa, it won't TOTALLY break your phone, but things won't work right.
The I727 (Skyrocket) has completely a different SoC/chipset, so firmwares are COMPLETELY not compatible with either the I777 OR the I9100.
The SGH-I777 and SGH-I727 both have their own forums.

No worries; I just want you to be fully informed. It would suck for you to have gotten one of the phones, and try to flash a ROM from THIS forum. If you had gotten the regular Galaxy SII, it would have just acted weird. If you had gotten the Skyrocket, you probably would have completely bricked the phone.

Not sure if being sarcastic or honest. Either way, I haven't heard of that site before.

I would try websites that are in the UK that might seem the international version like Amazon.co.uk but wouldn't you want lte as the international version doesn't support lte? Also the quad core processor might drain the battery faster though things you need to look out for.
Edit: I believe you can buy stuff from Amazon.co.uk and will ship to the USA

Thanks, will look there.
I know, but I rather have the dev support. Besides, I'm on wifi 90% of the day, so don't really need lte. Also, I'm pretty sure lte will drain more than the quad core processor.
Thanks for sharing your opinion though!

Their price is a little lower than Amazon US, and their online rep claimed that the phone is from the second batch:

Are those phone from the second batch of production? I've read that the ones from the first batch had some issues.

Yes. These units are from the newest batch available.

I recommend going with Expansys USA since they are a USA vendor and you can get a square and trade warranty.
