G'Day All,
I have a T9193 that's about 3months old and have run into a Bluetooth issue.
When I start up the phone I get the message "BTTrayCE.exe is not a valid Pocket PC application"
When I try to turn on Bluetooth from Settings I get the message "Can't turn on Bluetooth"
I have had Bluettoth working before and the only thing that I think could have caused this is a failed installation of Tom Tom on the first go. I did eventually manage to successfully install Tom Tom but still can't get my Bluetooth function to work. I've tried a soft reset but that has made no difference.
Anyone have any ideas? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers,
Franz
I would suggest a hard reset. It looks like a system file corruption to me.
tomtom jacks up the bt files by replacing them with outdated ones. go to this post and unzip the bt files and put them in your windows folder (either by activesync or total commander).

Hi. My SGA has the latest Official CyanogenMod nightly. I have Windows XP, a bluetooth dongle, and bluesoleil drivers.
I am able to send images and apk files from my pc to my phone. But when I try to send an epub file, or a 7z file, my pc says:
"Access is denied. Please make sure you have the proper right to access the files or folders."
So I tried to create a compressed file and instead of using 7z, I used .zip. And it was able to send it. So I'm positive that my phone has a list of allowed filetypes to be received. Is there any way to edit it? Thanks.
PS: I tried declining a file (that successfully went through), and it gave the same access denied error on my pc. So I believe that my phone is automatically denying certain filetypes. Thanks.
yeah i think so...i cant send apk file via bluetooth i think ace wont allowed it
sent from ACE TO ACE
Same problem
What I did was changed the extension of those files to .Mp3
This way I was able to send via bluetooth and then on phone change it back to original extension
Problem?

Did I send this :O
Well that's really a hassle to do. I'll just have to wait for a real solution.
Also, every time I receive a file it asks me to confirm it. Stock Gingerbread had a check box to always receive files [from a specific device] automatically. I can't seem to see that option here. Any thoughts? Thanks again.

First off I will start off that I am new but I did try searching this forum and google as well. Everytime I download something either from a torrent or something from the internet, it says open file failed. Here recently i was tring to download some movies and I tried downloading bit torrent but I cant even open up the bit torrent to help me download other things. Has anyone ran into this yet?
open file failed could mean several things.
First, it could mean you dont have an application installed that is taking control of that filetype, the prime has no idea what applicaiton to open that file with.
The second is the file is corrupted and unreadable
Third it could be in use by something else and read protected
It could be several other things but unfortunately you have given us very little to go on.
What files specifically are you trying to open? .torrent files would need a torrent downloader capable of opening these files. Movies should easially open with the stock video player or MX player is what i use. If you are trying to install a .exe file you need to do some reading on differences between android and windows.
Hopefully this helps.
First let me start off by saying that Windows Phone is a great OS. I love everything about it, from UI to gaming. BUT, I hate how locked up it feels. I mean not even being allowed to download files that the phone does not recognize is just frustrating! Ok fine I admit not everyone will find this useful but I have figured out a(moderately easy) way of using a WP8 Phone to download unrecognized file formats, and to then put those files onto your pc/laptop via Bluetooth. Unfortunately it doesn't work via cable.
Step 1: Download UC Browser from the app store, it's free and necessary to initiate the download,as IE will just block the download from even beginning.
Step 2:Using UC Browser, go download whatever file it is you want. E.g. .zip , .pdf , .exe , .inf , .mkv , whatever you need.
Step 3:When UC Browser asks you to either save the file or send to skydrive, choose Save. The renaming section will appear. Now,
Step 4:Rename the file extension from what it originally was, to .mp3. Example : "Logic_driver345.zip" to "Logic_driver345.mp3" . Then begin the download. When it is complete, the phone will store the file in the music+video hub, under music, unknown artist, unknown album.
Step 5: Switch on your phones bluetooth and pair it to your laptop/pc ,make sure your pc bluetooth is ready to receive a file.(usually right click on the bluetooth icon in system tray and click "receive file via bluetooth".
then it's as simple as sending the file, and renaming the extension back to original on your pc. Example: "Logic_driver345.mp3" to "Logic_driver345.zip"
some people might say it's easier to just use your internet on the pc, of course, but this is a tip for those of us who don't have an internet connection at home and use our phone to download important email attachments or other files. I hope this helps at least one other person who had the same problem I had.:good:
many downloads is easier with GetThemAll....

What version is your firmware? Mine is the most recent from AT&T and have always and still am able to download any file regardless of the extension. All I get is a pop up that says it is unrecognized and may not be able to be used, would I like to download any way? Then you have an option of download or cancel. It goes to the download folder and I can then do whatever I want to with it.

Thanks for the reply, and I'm glad they sorted that out, it was effing ridiculous! Now we just need a file manager. I was still running stock firmware cause my network had not made the update available yet. I'm in South Africa on Cell C , just forced an update check now and saw the update is finally available. Now to find a wi-fi spot... Thanks anyway guys.
Hi I've been downloading torrent files for years and never had this problem. When I tried to download one yesterday I got a message saying "cannot be opened (torrent name) Torrent is a unknown film." I use utorrent pro and also tried flud but still get same message. Also I have tried different browsers but all the same. I also tried going into file manager and opening that way but I just get a list Text, audio, Image and Video.
Sorry if I have posted this in the wrong place. Not been on here for ages.
Thanks in advance.
