[Q] Modded Phone.apk and Contacts.apk for larger caller photo? - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey is there any working mod for Phone.apk larger caller picture?
I do not want the full screen, because I do not like it. I want such thing:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1050251
but for SGS II of course. I couldn't find any... really noone modded this yet?

If you wait a month, cm9 (Android Ice cream sandwich) should hopefully be in a good beta if the kernel sources are released by then, and the stock Ice cream sandwich phone screen couldn't have a bigger photo. I am pretty sure that there aren't any larger photo id for gingerbread for the s2. I believe that waiting for ICS will be your only option from now
If I have help please press the thanks button below
This is what the ics phone screen looks like:

Yes I see. Well, hope Samsung will speed process up and we get ICS sooner than later.
Frankly this screen of ICS calling is uglier than Gingerbread :O
Well, you helped me in a way, so thx

Anything for ICS? I can't find any Phone.apk modded for ICS 4.03

[Q] CyaonogenMod 7.1 2.3.7 RC2 for Ace

Hey,
first of all I want to thank you guys for this very nice Rom which makes my Ace not running but flying. Everything is running fine but there are two things which make me a little bit trouble:
1. I choosed the Cyanbread Design, but only if Wifi is activated the icon for network reception is "cyan" otherwise its standart gray-white. There are any tricks or fixes for this problem?
Here some screenshots:

}
2. The Beautiful Widget is working fine with the stock theme, but I can´t theme another skin. I get the message the skin is damaged, but it isn´t. Somebody got it work? I don´t really know, but I think it´s caused by the A2SD.
Yours sincerely
thats a known problem with stock cm theme included. try installing other theme, they'll work.
Thank your for the answer. I´ve installed the ICS MDPI theme but there´s the same issue.

[Q] Question About Bezke's UltraICS ROM

Does anyone know if Bezke's UltraICS is an actual port of ICS/Cyanogen mod 9, or if it is simply stock gingerbread with an ice cream sandwich theme, and apps that make it look and feel like the real Ice Cream Sandwich? Also, how is functionality in the latest 1.3 version of the ROM? The post on the official thread indicates no bugs, but i was wondering if there are any known issues. Thank You!

It's pure ICS so no way of making it work on our phones...
Maybe you should read Bezke's OP again or better yet ask these question in the UltraICS thread.......just a thought

Red Squiggly Lines -Spelling Correction-

I remember seeïng in the ICS keynote that system wide spelling correction would be implemented. What I want is for text to be checked system wide when I type, like how on a desktop red lines appear under misspelled words as you type. Anyone ever use a galaxy nexus to see if it was present there? I swear that I saw this feature in ICS, but was wondering if anyone else has I tried the XXLPB ICS leak and didn't notice it =[
Yeah i was wondering about this also and not noticed anything thought there might be a setting to turn it on but cant see anything unless i missed it somehow but honestly dont think its there been using XXLPB for a over a week now :/
i am also after this too this was one of the main fatures i wanted out of ics as blackberry has this as standard and i was disapointed that GB didnt even have this on when i moved to android and when i saw ics has it i was chuffed but after updating my galaxy to ics they seem to have removed this feature?

I tried the CM9 beta, and it was working just fine. I just don't understand why it was omitted from touchwiz...

[Q] Why my Android Jelly Bean looks like Ice-Cream Sandwich

Hello,
I'm from Iraq, and before I have rooted my Galaxy S III. When updates for Jelly Bean became available I started to update my phone, but I couldn't because it was rooted, anyways; I downloaded the firmware from Internet and installed it through ODIN.
Today, I watched a video on YouTube, I found that the look of desktop of Jelly Bean has changed on Galaxy S IIl. It was like this:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
But my Jelly Bean's desktop is this:
It looks like Ice-Cream Sandwich exactly.
For your certainty, I took a picture of about section in settings:
It's really Jelly Bean as you see. But what is the problem? How can make it like the first photo?
Thanks a lot.
The person that recorder the Youtube video was either on AOSP rom or using custom launcher.
These are stock ICS/JB launchers that replace stock Samsung's TouchWiz:

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.teslacoilsw.launcher
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mobint.hololauncher.hd
^Yep!
Get yourself a different launcher and do away with crappy Touch Wizz. It'll be like having a whole new phone immediately. I, myself am currently using Nova Prime, but any of the 3 launcher links posted above will give you the look you are going for

What do you mean by convert? There is a different application for clock in JellyBean ROMs.

Yes I am fully aware of that.
But I would like the you ICS versions of some applications like
- clockwidget.apk (com.sonyericsson.advancedwidget.clock)
- SemcCalculator.apk (com.android.calculator2)
- Phonebook.apk (com.sonyericsson.android.socialphonebook)
Usually you would expect that a new software version (like Jelly bean) is backward compatible or downwards compatible with older versions (like ICS). But obviously not in the Android world.
I can install the old apps but they are not working.
So my question is:
how can I modify the apps or the system to get them working in Jelly Bean.
