[Q] Organised ROM versions repository/history per thread? - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi there,
Not sure if this is the best section to ask the question I've got, but I couldn't find a general site Q&A section (please let me know if you know where to move it).
Within the xda-dev site, is there a simple way of finding organised/ordered list of links to updated ROMs relevant to a thread?
I found this thread when looking for a ROM for an old phone I just got for testing:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=864403&page=1610
As you see, it's got 1610 pages, so finding what I'm looking for there will take forever +-5mins

8525 (hermes) Questions

I have read all the posts the only questions I have now is:
I am looking for validations of someone who updated a Cingular 8525 to a new ROM and everything works? Please tell me to which ROM you updated.
I see a lot of people updating t-mobile and others but I want to make make sure that the ROM I get will work with cingular and will be in english.
Thank you

Another good place is the Wiki; here's the place for all your basic questions about the Hermes/8525. The link to the page of all the ROMs is below:

That is what I was looking for.

[Q] New (noob) User Questions about Roms and Flashing HTC HD2

Hi there, please accept my apologies if this topic has been posted (many times) before, but I am having trouble wading through the excellently huge amount of info on XDA-Dev, and am finding myself more confused than informed by the time I have gone through one or two threads Roms.
So, may I ask some very simple questions about what is a Rom, what it does, what information will be specifically interesting for me, what 'Flashing' does, a simple step-by-step ABC of how to 'upgrade' my HTC HD2 with a new ROM to make it work better, and what you may need from me in order to be able to focus my query in the right direction.
Again, apologies if this is a much hacked subject, as I'm certain on such a forum, with the very knowledgable and creative developers it has, you have been approach more than once on this very subject.
Any help is most apprecited.
Oops. Just saw the Sticky for the HTC Q&A forum.
Could you please move this to there? Thanks!
Hey Sir,
What type of HD2 do you have? If you are from the US and have a US T-Mobile phone then read this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=653614
If you have UK version of the phone please read this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=609477

this is the 3rd YES THIRD time you have pasted the same thing in this forum and I have fortunately or unfortunately replied to your desperate needs to ask same questions again and again - here is the link from 2nd time - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=887137 I HOPE MY ANSWER FROM LAST TIME DOES SATISFY YOUR HUNGER. IF IT DOESN'T PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE ASK ME OR ANYONE ELSE QUESTION IN THIS THREAD AND DON'T CREATE 4TH THREAD ON A USELESS QUESTION !!
Ps: YES I WAS SHOUTING THERE!!!
I don't see the reason for creating this thread unnecessarily when your exactly same post has been answered here - http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...=672234&page=8
I am quoting the reply below (again exactly from the same thread!) by Lesscro
"1 - Hello
2 - Use original ROM...
3 - There is real "ROM" as you say... but only build developpement...
And there is no final version actually on Android... no need to search better configuration...
Wait for final and stable versionof ToshDroid...
My Advise...
See ya..."
You could follow the same thread where you are most likely to get more responses rather than this new thread! I think it won't be beneficial for anyone who tries to search for some information to look into 450 different threads if everyone started to post their questions as individual thread rather than addressing it in the correct thread!
*MODS* Is it possible to not have this thread any more!? (unless you see it useful in any other way!)

[Q] Question about ROM choice

Hey guys, been a while since I frequented these forums.
Anyways, I am looking for a decent ROM for my i9300 (currently running ParanoidAndroid).
I would like a ROM that has:
- Samsung camera
- JB style (preferably no TouchWiz at all)
- extended Power Menu
Anyone know if a simple ROM exists with these features?
(I have had a look but I find these forums too difficult to sift through now, there is too many things going on and the new UI is irritating when trying to read- I can't concentrate)

Hi,
Try Rootbox rom.
I m currently using it .
It is definitely worth trying it.
Just check it out here.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1898798&highlight=rootbox
Plz post your questions in Q&A section.
Edit - ignore the title of my post.
Samsung camera requires touchwiz rom.
1) "which rom" threads are not allowed on xda as they end up in arguments
2) general forum is not the place for questions. Q&A is for this

Mod Edit
Best ROMS/kernels are not allowed on XDA.
Please test these things for yourself.
This is the only way you will get an unbiased opinion, and then, you can decide for yourself if it meets YOUR needs.

Can we have a sticky with links to the ROMS and a FAQ?

Is this possible?
Many readers/visitors to XDA would find it handy to have as much information in a clear and concise format and location?
For me, I find it frustrating the S7+ Rooting thread's original guide is less than thorough and is incomplete, plus it's now outdated since the original poster @Nightmare0 created the 200+ thread back in 2020?
Additionally, I came to this thread regarding what I would need to prepare for rooting such as what ROMS I may need (and how to determine what I need). Suffice to say, this thread does not meet my expectations.
No one is stopping you from creating a new thread/guide on how to ROOT the device.
