File Sharing toggle LOCKED - cannot switch on

This is a feature that i had a quick look at earlier and it didn't show ny problems.
Settings-> More Settings-> Nearby Devices-> File Sharing is locked on Off and i cannot switch it back to On.
This is getting quite irritating as I've been trying to set up Allshare Play streaming between laptop and S3.
Not sure when it got locked but it might have happened only after my latest update to LFB with Odin.
I had used Odin before to flash CF-root and it was working fine.
I tried switching on and off all the other toggles such as NFC wi-fi direct Android beam and S beam but nothing helped.
Anyone's got an idea how to get this working again??
ANY suggestions please.
No clues?
I got the smae problem original stock rom

you gotta do this magic trick:
- connect to wifi network
- open that settings tab
- should be disabled
- say 'i love my galaxy' three times - loud and clear
- tada!

I don't see "Nearby Devices" under the Applications manager. What am I missing? My file sharing option is also disabled and everything is greyed out.

I must be blind because I'm still not seeing it under the "All" tab. In the N's I see Network Location, Nfc Service, and NFC Test.

NFC in CM9

**Posted this in the wrong place originally**
Okay I searched everywhere for this answer and could not find it.
I see that Google Wallet works with CM9 which i have the most recent nightly installed.
Google Wallet is up and running and I go to sign in and it tells me to enable NFC and brings me to the setting menu under Wireless & Networks / More.
There is no NFC setting or anyway to enable it I can see.
Please help! I am so close to cell phone paying goodness

Droid Dna Update from 4.1.1 to 4.2.2 with GSM service

You can try this but I cannot guarantee that this will work. but it has worked for me. first off go to about-software update, and their on the top right corner is a settings button where it says update over wifi connection and make sure that this box is checked. then take out the sim and then go to settings-mobile data-preferred network and change from gsm/umts to cdma/lte. now make sure that your phone is connected to a wifi connection. you will get a message saying no cdma connection was found. just hit okay and ignore it. then go to settings- apps- all- and find google services framework and then hit clear data then force stop. now go to settings- software update- check new. do NOT go to settings-about-software update-check new to check for updates because it did not work for me and kept telling me that their was no update. I do not know why but if its confusing to understand then make this note- if the check new option is under status then you are in the right place I thought I would post this because it was such a pain in the ass to look for this solution, and finally somebody that had found this posted it in a section that I cannot for the life of me remember to find it to give credit to. but this worked for me. and thought I would share to help all others out because it was difficult as hell to find the solution for me

Guide on how to get Wi-Fi calling and VoLTE

This is a guide on how to enable VoLTE and Wi-Fi calling on the Mi 9 and (possibly) other MIUI 11 devices.
NOTE: Wi-Fi calling WILL NOT work if your carrier doesn't support it.
Root is required for any of this to work.
Download the Wi-Fi calling document because you will need the text inside
Go ahead and download build.prop editor by JRummy Apps from the play store. Open the app, allow superuser access, more permissions, blah blah blah whatever.
Now, press the pencil (that means edit the document) and scroll all the way to the bottom. Right at the end, go down a line and paste the text from the document. Now press save (floppy disk icon). Refer to image 1 if you had a hard time understanding this.
After doing this, restart your phone.
Now, go to settings, tap on SIM Cards and Network, tap on your (main) SIM card, and an option should be visible and should be asking you if you want to use WLAN to make calls. Image 2 should tell you what it should look like
Now to make sure that Wi-Fi calling and VoLTE is on, go to settings again, tap on My Device, tap on All Specs and tap on Internal Storage several times until a network testing menu appears. Tap on phone Information 1 (or wherever your main SIM card is on) and find an option called Mobile radio Tower. If you are having a hard time finding that, look at image 3. Wi-Fi calling, video calling, and VoLTE should all be turned on.
The VoLTE option sometimes doesn't turn on. To fix that, you just need to turn off the Mobile radio Tower option off, wait for it to slide to "off" and wait for a couple of seconds. Turn it back on and wait until the VoLTE option has slid to "on".
If all three are working, congrats! You have Wi-Fi calling and VoLTE!
Hope this helps!!
Thank you! That works for me!

Question Google Pay not working

Hi there, I've just got this device for about a week and tryi ng to properly set this up. However I can't see to get my Google Pay/GPay working even though it shows as set up and ready for scanning.
Everytime I scan this at the counter, it just returns with an error and tells me to use my card. Let me know if anyone resolved this issue and how to please.
Thanks
Hi, I had the same problem and fixed it by changing the secure element to HCE Wallet. You can find it in settings under Connection & sharing.
I can confirm, changing to HCE Wallet solves this problem (Settings / Connection&Sharing / Default wallet / SIM Wallet

Thanks again man, I was struggling with this, and had already set up my Google Pay as the main wallet. This HCE Wallet setting did the trick!!
Another noob question but is anyone having issues with WhatsApp calls? my call overlays are not showing at all.
