[Q] How to find the Product Code??? - Nokia Lumia 800

How can we find the product code of Nokia Lumia 800?
Previously on Nokia handsets we used *#0000# to check all this. But this code doesnt work on Lumia. How can we find the product code?

Nokia Care Suite. Probably best to skip that idea if you don't know what it means
Anywho, i found this on the Nokia Support site:
Lumia 800 and Lumia 900:
You can find product code information from the label on the back of your SIM card holder, right under the QR bar code. For information how to insert and remove SIM card holder for Lumia 800, see your Nokia phone's user guide.
Lumia 610 and Lumia 710:
Remove the back cover and battery, and see the label on the battery holder. For information how to remove the back cover, see your Nokia phone's user guide.
Hope it helps.

SIM unlock Nokia Lumia 710?

Anyone knows of a good way to SIM unlock the Nokia 710 for free via an exploit or program?
It's literally too new, nowhere will be able to unlock it yet. Cellunlocker.net are due to have codes for the 710 within a couple weeks, but I reckon it will take even longer than this.

Guess I'll play the waiting game....
Dude, it won't take long, seriously. I'm going to email cellunlocker.net again tomorrow to see if there's any progress.
---------- Post added at 07:01 PM ---------- Previous post was at 06:58 PM ----------
I think they (cellunlocker) can unlock it on some networks right now anyways, it's only the more stubborn ones (O2 UK) that are a bit more tricky and take longer. If you're in the states then check with them now as they might be able to do it.
I tried cellunlocker and they couldn't do my 710 on Vodafone, so gave me a refund.
Currently waiting on Vodafone to get an unlock code for me (it was the same price with them anyway). Apparently Vodafone just put the request in with Nokia themselves so should be more successful.
Vodafone issue N95 unlocking tutorial for Lumia 710 - FAIL!
OK! I unbelievably got my Lumia 710 unlock code from Vodafone with 8 hours (yes! I said 8 hours). GREAT!!
...until you try to put the code in the phone. The code issued uses an old Symbian style code starting with #pw+, however it is impossible to enter the pw+ symbols using the WP7 dialpad. And just make sure it is more difficult than ever they link to an N95 unlocking tutorial.
Tried:
entering the code with the dial pad - no joy
creating a contact with the unlock code as part of their details - no joy
only entering the numerical parts of the code - no joy
No luck with these so I sent Vodafone email request to sort it out so I will keep you posted as to what's happening. That said, I'm not convinced they'll come back with anything as this seems to have been going on since December looking at some of the Nokia forums.
I tried putting in another network's SIM to trigger the 8 digit pin unlock prompt but strangely nothing happened. So either the Lumia 710 was shipped unlocked (again something I'd heard on the forums and a wasted £20) or the BT SIM card I used is accepted by the Vodafone networks as BT is an MVNO piggy-backing Vodafone.
I suspect the unlock codes issued are incorrect so trying to uses another more featured dialpad from the WP7 marketplace to enter the code would probably be pointless.
I suppose it's a question of sittingg this one out until WP7 - Vodafone - Nokia sort this out and start issuing 8 digit unlock codes.

AFAIK, you can check the unlock-state on the 800 via ##782#. You can try this on your phone as well.

[Q] Who knows where to buy ENGINE BOARD for lumia 710?

Hello everyone. I'm still in search for the motherboard (ENGINE BOARD) for lumia 710. Already more than a month of nowhere I can not buy.
In General I suggest this topic highlight for discussion purchase of spare parts for lumia 710.
If anyone knows where you can buy the ENGINE BOARD, write in the subject or in my personal messages
What do you need it for? If yours is broken send phone for repairs and Nokia will suggest swap.

The phone I bought in the USA and I live in a completely different country. On this I can not send the phone in the us for repair.
Nokia should have international warranty. Try taking to a local nokia centre and see if they will fix it. I know a friend who bought a phone in europe and they still serviced it here in India.
Service goes region wise. A phone bought in india cannot be covered under warranty in europe. Or a phone bought in north America cannot be covered under warranty in south America or anywhere else. You must live in the same region.

What if you desolder NAND flash and flash the loader manually ?
1. Replace Lumia 800 engine board with Lumia 710.
2. Flash Lumia 710 unlocked bootloader.
3. Win!
The boards are not at all alike.

Are you sure the phone is USA one? what RM is it. Maybe we can do something to trick Nokia. And how much are you willing to pay in the end?

I have RM-809 (T-mobile), Bought in the United States. In the USA they can charge to fix, but I have no way to send it there. If anyone interested can sell the phone man from the USA. I learned in the official service of the nokia, the phone is out of warranty and they repaired it for free, provided that the phone WILL BE SENT FROM USA.
I live in Ukraine, and friends in the States no. The solution I see two or sell the phone to the person with the United States, or to purchase your motherboard.

why is it out of warranty? what is the problem with it to be out? you broke it physically? i can check phones history, warranty and country it is from, intended to be sold. you have to PM the IMEI. i know it is not wise to send IMEI to strangers, but i am a Nokia Care Point. if you want pm me. also if i can find you a main board it would be an rm-803 Unbranded or Cosmote. Cheers

First of all I would disassemble the phone to find out the nand flash manufacturer and model. Second I would try to find some one with flash progammer and JIG which supports the flash above. Then I would I would ask some one to dump first 1-2 mb of working phone, and flash it to your nand chip, and solder it back.
Note this is only theory, if you kill your phone I'm not resposible for this, so think twice before you do something.

Where to Register Your Nokia 920?

Hello,
Does anyone have a link to where we can register our Nokia 920s? I looked all over the Nokia site but can't find it. I was told that the warrant period begins once you register the phone. But I can't figure out where register it lol.

Unlock Lumia 620 like 710/800?

I currently have a Lumia 710 (Orange UK) which I use with Virgin UK. However, I have just made the plunge to buy a Lumia 620 which comes locked on o2 UK.
Is there a way to unlock the Lumia 620 like there is the 710/800? i.e. flash a bootloader and install a custom ROM?
or should I resort to changing contracts to o2/Tesco/GiffGaff?
Thank you all for any help/advice you can give me! :highfive:
The model number of the phone (RM-846) isn't showing up on Nokia Care Suite. I guess firmware isn't available yet then!

They show up for me today. Only I don't know which one to pick, there are hundreds of variants. Any ideas for the most generic one valid on UK networks?
Hi,
No any way to unlock Lumia 610 now...
About firmware - pick one that matches to your phone's Product Code.
BTW, if you want to change the boot-loader to OSBL QUALCOMM - use ATF Flasher
it can change boot-loaders via TP. =)

Thats great. I'll take a look later today. Might flash a generic firmware to get rid of the o2 Branding.
so is it possible to sim unlock this device? i bought one but i havent opened it yet in case i cant unlock it.
I picked up the Lumia 620 on the O2 deal to play around with and requested an unlock code which O2 have sent me so can use other SIM's now and tested it with an Orange SIM.
It didn't cost me anything to get it unlocked as I am an iPhone pay monthly customer already.
The problem now is the branding. I downloaded the Nokia Care Suite and flashed the generic firmware which put it to stock but it mentioned something about the product code not being specified however it all worked fine but unsure how it would effect updates in the future.
The product code is 059R788 which looking at the firmware matches the O2 branded one so will future updates still have to wait for O2 if they are based on product codes?
For now I flashed it back to the O2 firmware using the Nokia Care Suite as there are not any updates available to check.
Cheers!

Are you able to advise how you got O2 to unlock your PAYG Lumia 620 as I asked over chat last night and they wouldn't have any of it...even though I told the I (well my wife) has an O2 iPhone contract...!?!? Their policy is based on the phone being owned for 12-months or more before being unlocked, not the PAYG SIM or Pay Monthly contract...
I threatened them with leaving and referenced the fact Vodafone would do it at any time on PAGY for £20...!!!
They've told me to ring support on 4445 directly to discuss...
Any thoughts?
Judging by the comments above, the 620 cannot yet be unlocked via firmware?

Unlocking Rogers Lumia 920

I've been searching for a reasonably priced unlock service for my Rogers Lumia 920 but most unlock services are priced at $20 and above. Searching on eBay I find quite a few sellers offering cheap AT&T unlock codes, $4 and less, but Rogers Lumia 920 unlock codes are priced way higher. Does anyone know of a reasonably priced service?
Also, do I have to reset my phone to original state, prior to "Portico", for the unlock codes to work?
Any help would be appreciated.
I was not aware the Rogers phone is locked since it is not an AT&T subsidized model. The lock is to keep you from buying the AT&T at a reduced price and then using it on another network.
but fulepar
