[Q] Problem after upgrade 2.2 with QDL Tool - Streak 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi pals
Phone had 1.6 with o2 branded rom.
I decide to upgrade with QDL Tool, everything went fine in upgrade process.
Now phone not goes further dell logo, a black screen appears.
1/2 min later if i press power phone runs ok. but each time i start phone hang at black screen.
later upgraded with O2 stock rom with stock recovery, but problem remain same.
Code:
[B]Streak_319_12792_21.pkg + recovery.img [/B]
also tried to upgrade with retail stock rom
Code:
[B]Streak_351_15609_00.pkg + recovery.img [/B]
After all procedure phone condition is still same, after a dell logo only black screen for a long time.

Hi,
Yes, i can access both mode by pressing respective key. even phone turns on runs ok, just after dell logo comes a black screen which make unknown delay to turn phone on.

Like i suspected, you don't have a bootanimation or you have it replaced with a non-functioning one, hence the black screen upon boot.
You can download the stock Dell bootanimation from here
place it in /system/media and everything should be ok.

as i said in my earlier post, phone works fine.
as you may know, if you flash a phone with QDL Tool a very colorful dell logo u can see.
i ve another Streak flashed with same tool working fine.
The difference between those 2 handset is
Upgraded 2.2 From using QDL Tool to 2.2 = Working Fine
Upgrade 1.6 O2 From Using QDL Tool to 2.2 = Black Screen
Hope my made my self clear.

If you have ADB (haven't used QDL, so i don't know if it depends on having ADB), hook up the streak, have the screen on and on the PC type
Code:
adb shell bootanimation
If the screen turns black briefly and then lights up again, refer to my previous post.

Stuck in Loop; white screen and then Dell logo [RESOLVED]

What up everyone.
So here is my problem. I finally decided to upgrade to DJ_Steve 1.4.6 last week. I first went to O2 2.1. Then flash the clockwork recovery, flash the 2 files (amss and camera fix), and then flashed 1.4.6 and got stuck a Dell logo loop. Then tired to flash his 1.1.1 first, the two files (amss and camera fix) and I still was unable to get past the Dell logo loop. After trying the methods posted to get past the boot loop (none worked for me), I tried the QDL Tool and still was not able to get there due to a fastboot driver issue (which still has not been resolved). I'm using Win 7 64bit. I followed the QDL videos to the T. Here is where my new problem began. I just uninstalled the ADB driver and reinstalled it then ran the QDL Tool and it failed again at fastboot. Now my streak is stuck in another loop that I have not seen before. Here it is....
After powering on, I get;
Dell logo
white screen (wait for factory reset)
Dell logo
and then its starts all over again.
I tried to get into Fastboot (power + camera) but I can't. I also tried to reinstall the 8105 2.1 update.pkg from SD (both Volume + power, option 2) and I still get the loop.
I am not sure what I did but I would greatful if someone would walk me through this issue and get me on DJ_Steve's 2.2 1.4.6 or at least back to OS 2.1. I've been at this for over a week.
Thanks in advance
You have tried to flash the original stock recovery and after start the official 2.1 o2 upgrade.pkg?

I just tried to use the QDL tool to put my phone back into fastboot and then flash the recovery to use the 2.1 update.pkg to no avail.
Really need HELP!!!!

I am having the same exact issue here.
I am just now jumping into this and I am waiting on a fully charged battery, hoping this is the issue. ( I am at 40% now)
Have you tried installing with a full charge?
thanks.

No I haven't. The flashing of the Streak has really been more challenging than any other device I have ever owned. I am also waiting for the battery to charge. Going to try something new and will let you know if it works.

Instruction Guides are always useful. One thing, Do you need to reboot after flashing 1.1.1 before your flash 1.2?
And
Okay!!! the Streak flash file worked. Weird that the QDL Tool from streakdroid did not. just follow the instruction and you will golden.
THANKS GUYS!!!!! My week of torture is now over..

Tried rooting Tesco streak 15609 stuck at Dell logo

Tried rooting Tesco streak 15609 stuck at Dell logo
Hi, new to the streak but have dabbled very briefly in phones. I have a streak that I bought from Tesco's unlocked. I remember a reference number 15609 didn't write the rest of the info down. I am stuck at the Dell logl after trying to root it. I know Tesco piggyback of the O2 network but mine had no O2 logo at all. I was at 2.2.2 after over the air upgrades if that helps.
Any help greatly appreciated
easiest way if it still can enter recovery (remove batt then power on with both volume buttons pressed)then a menu should appear just do a factory reset and see if that fixes it(volume keys to navigate and camera shutter to select)..........if it doesn't fix it try the multi recovery flasher and follow the instructions........ good luck
Thanks, tried factory reset but still hangs. Just tried Multirecovery with my 3.51 rom but still no go. Goes through the motions saying successful but just hangs. I'm using win 7 64 bit if that has any bearing. Total flash time is a couple of secs?
Installed net framework 1.1 just in case but still the same. The three lights at the side stay lit up as well as the white Dell logo.
Your best bet is to get acces to a pc running XP. Install the drivers to run it in fastboot mode then use the QDL tool to reset the phone. This will drop it back to 2.2 build 305, you then may have to input the internet settings manually to update OTA again and you should be back at 2.2.2.
From there I'd fastboot the streakmod recovery then use it to install superuser and bob's your uncle. That's the technique I used when I almost killed mine on 2.2 trying to load clockwork recovery on it and the same thing with freezing happened!
edit:When I said use a pc withh XP to install the fast boot drivers it's not entirely correct. To use the QDL tool you need to switch the phone off, hold the up volume button and connect to the pc, then go to the device manager and install a specific driver from a specific place in the QDL tool folder but this won't work on windows 7 for some reason! If you want direct instructions let me know and I'll dig the link out for the QDL download and guide to installing the correct drivers!
Thanks for the input, much appreciated.
I am sorry, I should have mentioned that previous to trying to root the Dell I had Rom Manager installed and ran the clockmod app from it. It all ran fine it was only when I tried to root it using multirecoveryflasher that it hung at the Dell bootup screen. My apologies if this is vital info.
Thanks for the help. Copied the 188mb package to my sd card and followed the instructions and hey presto, working again
Happy bunny

Bricked Dell: Hangs on Bootscreen

Dell Streak through Rogers(Canada)
Ive read all of the "bricked streak" threads already and none match how my phone bricked. I was in the process of installing superboot according to the cyanogenmod streak wiki's instructions. After it installed it started hanging at the boot screen so as any good idiot who just bricked his phone, I googled and hunted on here until I couldn't type simple words. So I found one fix guide that I tried and all has worked except installing the stock rom. I will list the guild, its brief one issue I had to substitute the Rogers rom for an O2 rom as I couldn't find a rogers rom for the streak.
1. Download the stock recovery ROM and stock official Dell ROM. Make sure Dell PC suite has installed.
2. Rename the stock official Dell ROM to "Update.pkg" and copy it to your Dell Streak SD card.
3. Turn on your Dell Streak while holding camera button to boot Streak into fast boot mode.
4. Tap on "Fast boot Mode" button, wait 10 seconds then connect to your PC.
5. Open a command prompt, and navigate to the folder where your "fast boot-windows.exe" is stored.
6. Enter "fastboot-windows.exe -i 0x413c flash recovery c:\recovery.stock.img". Make sure the .img file is in c:\ directory. The program will now update the recovery image to your Dell Streak.
7. Once the phone displays "Recovery Done", remove the battery and insert it again.
8. Hold down vol up and vol down button while turning on your Streak to boot into Recovery mode, and choose option 2.
9. Wait till it installs and it'll boot into Android.
You have finished restoring Dell Streak to factory condition.
Method 2
1. Put update.pkg to SD card root folder.
2. Power up Streak whilst holding both volume buttons.
3. Select option 2 - "software upgrade via Update.pkg on SD card" by pressing camera button.
4. Press camera button again Job done.

Okay so I figured out the solution, I need to recover it to stock from what I understand. so I've followed the guide(s) and I still have the phone hang after "install update.pkg" with just a blackscreen. I've tried to put the streakmod recovery but I cant get it to install either, hangs on blackscreen as well.
Guys it will be great help if some body can give me the links to the official dell streak 2.1 rom.
Thanks in advance.

I'm having the same problem , did you fix yours ??
Mine hang a minute after the Dell logo ...
Just recentally fixed mine ie the screen after a year I managed to get it to boot did a reset as it was stalling at dell logo and then sometimes not even switching on just siting with leds on. So after the reset haven't been able to get it to boot so will give this a try see if it works so that I can at least sell it!
Rogers Dell Streak 5 - Totally Desperate Now
Great Forum everyone! Thanks for years of support. After three days of searching, scanning and racking my tiny brain for a solution I am finally breaking down and reaching out to all you good ppl ...I fear after several years of flashing various devices (albeit somewhat amateurishly) I have finally created my first true paperweight. Surely not!
Whilst trying to root my Dell Streak 5 using the Superboot method I think I have managed to brick it somehow...
Tried the method outlined at the beginning of this thread and all goes well until step 8 when my phone boots into Android system recovery <2e>. From here I have manually tried to "apply sdcard:update.zip" this hunts for the file but presumably its looking for a .zip extension not Update.pkg as I have named it. I tried on the off chance renaming the Update.pkg to .zip but then AR says 'bad package'.
Here' what I know:
Dell Streak 5 (Rogers) - Carrier unlocked via Streak Unlocker software (paid for)
Device boots up to Dell screen and hangs on logo, sometimes the logo splash
appears and hangs other times it just flashes Dell logo repeatedly.
When plugged in without battery and left volume key held down device did get recognized as A Qualcomm CDMA MSM device or something. So I don't think its completely dead.
Totally Lost at this point and desperate for help
Any suggestion or additional info would be most helpful.
Thanks
It happens when you using Clockworkmod.
I recommend you to use Streakmod. I had try Clockworkmod as recovery image. But it doesn't work well. I'm using Streakmod and it goes pretty well.

Thanks drsuocide I will give this a go and feedback...
Streak lives again
And my Streak has life again. Thanks for the walk through and help
Wish mine would live. It gave it up yesterday. I've tried every frickin thing I can think of including the QDL tool to revive it. Nada.
Guess it's time to part it out.

[Q] SGP311 stuck on logo screen after root and pixel density change

Hello all,
I wanted to change the pixel density of my Xperia Tablet Z (SGP311), so I rooted it using a script by Bin4ry. It worked fine. Then I used an app, which I forgot the name of, to change the pixel density. Upon rebooting the device, I noticed that it didn't proceed past the Sony logo screen, and kept rebooting over.
I have tried pushing up + power buttons, but the same thing keeps happening. When I plug in the charger, the battery display does pop up.
I can also get it to go into fastboot mode (led turns blue). But without anything showing up on the screen.
flashtool recognizes the device.
That's all the info I could think of. So, could I ask anyone for any suggestions?
Best,
d.

if you tried to put it into phone UI mode... it won´t boot anymore because you can´t change a SONY Rom into Phone mode.
You have to use adb and pull the file "build.prop" and change it back to normal or if you can´t use adb you´ll have to reflash your tablet with flashtool/EMMA or if bootloader is still locked SEUS/PC Companion

Thank you om22 for suggesting EMMA. Flashtool wasn't working for me, but I finally managed to revert back to stock and everything seems to be in order.

I cant get into download mode. ive tried everything

So i have a Samsung Galaxy X Cover pro that won't boot the bootloader. I've tried the adb reboot commands, button combinations, and recovery mode options. The result is the same. Basic samsung splash for 2 second, the the X cover splash, a short vibration, then the basic samsung splash again.
i dont know what to do...

Hmm. Have you been playing around with it? Maybe you messed up some partions?
Before having this issue, i was able to get the phone into download mode. I updated the firmware to the latest available. when the phone rebooted, instead of going straight to the Xcover pro splash, it starts with a 1 second basic samsung logo splash before before showing the xcover splash.
here is a demonstration.
