I install juice definder but is to hard for settings for me. Is that some simle apps just screen off then wifi and bluetooth off. Please someone

I don't know about the bluetooth but if you go to the advanced settings in the wifi menu there is a setting that puts the wifi off when the screen is off.

Bluetooth is only available in the Ultimate version.
OP, If it is too hard to configure, there are several apps on the market that do similar things, but you will have to test by yourself.

For all, I find good apps name SuperPower and it on xda site at link

Non-sense toggle data widget

Does anyone know if there is a widget comparable to the sense "mobile" widget, that will turn mobile data on/off, and works with the Eris? I've tried toggle data widget and switchpro and neither of them work. Thanks!

I used to be looking out for one, but I found out I always had one!
I assume your on a vanilla rom and dont have sense? use the control panel. there's a button with a circle and 2 arrows on it.
now this doesn't actually turn off 3g, it turns off active syncing. active syncing is what drains your battery when you aren't touching your phone. so if you turn it of, it will be exactly like if you turned 3G off all together. but! doing it this way, you can open up the browser, and it will still automatically load.
like, if you turn it off, your phone wont be using 3g to constantly check on your new emails, but if you went to the mail application and hit refresh it will bring in the new emails for you.
Thanks, actually I'm trying to convince myself I could use a non-sense ROM. There are many things that I love about sense and the mobile widget is one of them.
I'm on pageplus and only have 50mb of data, so I like to keep the mobile connection off unless I need it for some reason. One time I was listening to pandora over wifi and all the sudden my data usage was maxed out. I believe the wifi radio was turned off after 15 minutes because of one of the phones settings (I've since changed that setting and haven't seen this problem). Needless to say, since then, I've been paranoid.
The suggestion to disable syncing will help but I would prefer to cut the connection completely. That way, any app that might happen to be running in the background (That I no longer need) won't be able to suck away at my limited data. Or, if wifi get's turned off automatically for some reason
Are there any other suggestions?

would that work ?
Thanks rv, I've actually tried that one and it doesn't appear to work on the Eris. Other people have reported the same in the reviews.

I am on page plus also, and i faced the exact same dilemma trying a non-sense rom. I couldn't find anything reliable. I know its not as convenient but what about just pushing the power button for 2 secs and then selecting turn on/off mobile network from that list. I have to do this in sense sometimes because the mobile widget doesn't work occasionally.
For those that are using roms that still have HTC Framework, then a shortcut is to long press the end call button and select the last option. Which is Mobile Network ON/OFF
Atleast that's a workaround but not a complete widget replacement, sorry
Check out beautiful widgets, it's 1.99 but it might have what you need.

u should try droidwall. am on pageplus too and use this one to control the data usage. u can block some or all apps from using 3G and restrict them to just wifi. its free. try it out

Yeah that will work fine, I never noticed that was there... but do the AOSP/Cyanogen builds have this option?

I actually have beautiful widgets, but there isn't one to turn off data.
Just to post an update for anyone interested:
SwitchPro widget works great at least on White Widow. I'm assuming it works on any AOSP ROM. I tried it with a stock sense rom previously and it didn't work for me, so I'm assuming that it doesn't work with sense.

Location Question??

I have had my new streak since Wednesday, this thing is awesome!! I do have a concern about my GPS constantly turning on, every time I take my phone out of stanby mode it starts to search for my location. I "killed" all apps with Advanced Task Killer and it still try to locate my position... I don't mind too much, but it cant help my battery life so if anyone has any ideas as to what programs could be requsting my location all the time that would be a big help. Thank You for Your Time!!
Did you set up any widget?
I think you can use power widget to turn on/off GPS.
try going to the settings/location and security/ and turn it off?
hopefully the three top checkboxes are self explanatory...
use wireless uses a bit of data, but not that much, and is much more battery friendly than using gps (the second one).
however if you're not using location aware apps or widgets (such as beautiful widget) then there's no need for them.
any app that really wants to use gps usually asks you to turn it on, if its off.

Thanks for the reply, I did turn off the GPS option and kept on the Wireless one. Seems to have fixed the issue with contantly trying to find my location... I still have no idea which program was activating it.... Just have to turn it on when I want to get acurate directions... Hopefully my battery will last a day now!!! Assuming I can manage to put it down for more than 5 min...
Just a suggestion, have a look at the threads regarding using task killers on the streak. I was a WM user for years so thought task managers were essential. Caused me nothing but bother on the streak, been using it for weeks without one now, it occasionally has a temporary slow-down, but supposedly the streak doesn't need a task manager.

Yeah I use Advanced Task Killer... it works great!

[Q] Block specific wifi networks?

My Galaxy S2 keeps automatically connecting to the BT Openzone wireless AP (basically a portal that you have to pay extra to use). Sometimes it connects to this instead of my home network which is a huge pain. I can tell android to forget the BT network but it soon rediscovers it again. Is there anyway I can block it completely? I cant seem to find an app that can do this.
hi mrjeffery
I had exactly the same thing happen to me yesterday - and I noticed it only started happening after i installed that badly written "My Vodafone" app.
So I "assume" that you're also running the same or similar app?
In the My Vodafone app, select the "more" tab, press your menu button - settings - and remove the tick from "Enable BT Openzone"
I have noticed that even if you uninstall the app with that option ticked it still tries to connect to BT Openzone - so if you still have the problem after you removed the app, re-install it, remove the BT openzone tick and you should be good.
Why Vodafone decided to enable the function for people who didnt sign up for BT openzone is beyond me?
Good luck and I hope this helps!
You're absolutely right! I've disabled the option in the Vodafone app which should resolve the issue completely. I never knew it was there in the first place. Thankyou!

[Q] Auto airplane mode keeping wifi on, in gingerbread

Hello. I need a free app for automatically turn on/off airplane mode without turning off WIFI or Bluetooth. So, only the cell signal.
There are a lot of apps which can do it but all them turn off wifi too
Before, Tasker had this option, but in Gingerbread google has disabled it, so it cant do it
I have tried this: https://market.android.com/details?id=be1ay.flymode&feature=search_result
But dont work. So, any idea?
Thanks so much!
I do believe it's not possible to do it anymore, unless big changes in the kernel or the OS are made.

When you said there are a lot of apps can do it, can you list some out? Thanks.
aavan it should be possible because you can see this app: SwitchPro. This app do it through a widget so is not automatically, but works perfectly. So it is possible

Tasker also do it
All of them are about airplane mode including wifi, so are not what I am looking for

Nothing exists right now. Although there are 3rd party apps that turn airplane mode on and off with a touch...the roots of actual airplane mode run much much deeper than that. It would take ALOT of work to create an app for that.

Thanks for the info, but I have discovered something that works! Switch pro widget has an option for set any time for turn off/on airplane mode automatically, just like I was loking for
So problem fixed

Auto Wifi Off Apps

Anyone know a good app that turns wifi on/off not based on location? So if I am connected at home and leave it turns off my wifi and then periodically checks to see if a known ssid is within range and reenables if one is found. I used to use one called Auto Wifi On off but don't see it in market anymore. I don't leave the location settings on and the couple I have tried that use that feature don't work to find my "home" location so never bothered to try them for long. Running Mean bean 3.6

You can do that with tasker...I've never tried it before, but I've seen examples where people have done it. From what I hear though, it's pretty hard on the battery and there's a fair amount of scripting to get it setup. A simpler solution would be to buy an NFC tag and use NFC task launcher to write a profile to it that disables wifi, enables mobile data, etc. Then you can just tap your phone to it when you leave the house. You can set it up as a toggle also, so it will do the opposite next time you tap it (when you come back in).
Tags are pretty cheap, and there's a bunch of other stuff you can do with them...one of my favorite features of this phone. Here's where I bought mine from:
http://tagsfordroid.com/store.html
8 bucks for 2 tags and a programmable keychain.
