A YouTube app that WORKS on NOOKcolor CM7!!

I noticed how youtube/xl worked pretty well over on the Nook CM7, so I made my 1st app, hot out the oven! =) Skipping ahead through videos doesn't work so well but all other native controls work fine.. Feedback? Ideas? Props?
I attached the .apk on Cyanogenmod Forums..

Good start, but once I sign in it does everything but actually play. Seemed to play OK before I signed in. Once you tweak it, you are on to something. Also, when I do sign in it takes me to someone else's channel (yours?) Plus, it would be nice if it would store login info, so we don't have to re-enter username/password each time.
Tried this.... doesn't Work....
yay
Worked like a charm on c7 sdboot
thank you
Fully loads videos on CM7 #19 EMMC.
Only problem is that the videos are all flash embeds and the performance is horrible on my NC, overclocked at 1.1ghz, interactive governor using Flash 10.1.
The best part of the Youtube app is that videos are transcoded and play flawlessly without flash.
works fine on cm7 21
Its not perfect. n22 has gotten the YouTube app functioning, but TubeXL still plays standard (and full HD) much better than the YouTube app as it stands now. Im happy to see a lot of ppl have tried it, over 200 downloads in one day.. I hope most of you feel its a great work around until YouTube issues are fully resolved.
Works nice for me.

ZPlayer (WP7devteam) last.fm not working? :(

I recently bought the WP7 look-a-like music player ZPlayer I enjoyed the devs WP7Phone so I thought it'd be a good contribution, but as soon as I downloaded, I noticed that Last.Fm did not work on it?
It asks for my Last.fm profile user and pass, and i enter it, and then it does a bit of "making sure its correct" and then it just does.. nothing?
Anyone know what the problem might be?
Idk but last.fm isn't free anymore on mobile devices

[Q] Grooveshark hack?

Anyone knows how to hack the Grooveshark mobile app into thinking my account is subscribed to Grooveshark anywhere? Grooveshark is like the best app to stream free music, create playlists etc etc on the clouds.
Why don't you guys share your methods of discovering music on the go?
In other words, what's a good way to discover music, check out artistes, browse albums and enjoy songs on the go with an android in hand?
buuuuuuuuuumpp....??
In other words, do you guys know any good method for stealing?
No hack. If you like, pay for it. $30 for a year is nothing compared with what you get from grooveshark.
BUT, grooveshark isn't good at all at discovering music. I don't like radio function in Grooveshark. The best app for it is Pandora. And it's free.
Use TinyShark, its not nearly as polished and doesn't work quite as well but it gets the job done. https://market.android.com/details?id=com.exigo.tiny&feature=search_result

Nope, I don't see that as stealing.... It just works like grooveshark on a desktop browser. You get what you want to listen only online, you don't own the mp3 or anything. Sadly, the mobile version of grooveshark doesn't give its users these privileges...

Oh nice!! I think I'll make do with this first until I find myself a better option.
Opening grooveshark in dolphin HD browser with desktop user agent option seems to work for me too... But yeah, the page is too big for easy viewing on a phone's screen...
go to html5.grooveshark.com. sorry for bumping an old thread
dude.. GS Anywhere costs $5 a month... Get over it and pay those devs. They kick ass and Grooveshark is the best program on the interwebs. So drink one less beer a month and have as much music as you could ever possibly handle.
GS radio is kinda lame, admittedly so.. However you can upload new music to GS and it automatically puts it in your music. So that's pretty damn cool. If you can't find it on GS then just put it there. I do this all the time with new music I find shortly after it is released.

Has anyone tested this app? It looks quite promising but i am experiencing quilte a lot of crashing, for example when trying to access some options, or just for listening too long to music, etc...

just push it to system/app (change permissions)

[Q] Please help finding a music player

I have a question about players.. it seems it *should* be simple but Android does not seem able to handle it.
Music is important to me.. so important, i am considering returning my brand new Note 2 and eating the restocking fee.
I am looking for a music player on par with iOS basic player. Before the flame war begins, hear me out.
1. Most important feature. This one is the deal breaker. (if i find this, i can forgive the rest) MUST be able to sort Genre by artist. Before you say Mixzing, I will tell you it does not. If you go to Genre, then it shows artist. If you click on the artist, it shows ALL songs by that artist.... not just the one in the genre you picked.
Why do i need this? I'll give you an example.
In iOS if someone wanted to to play, Green Day (for example). They could:
a) play ALL the Green day music by going to the artist section, or
b) they could play only their favorites by going to genre, (favorites) then Artist (green day) then all their favorites are there without the ‘not so good’ songs.
I am sure I am not the only one that likes to play ALL the music by an artist on some occasions, while only their favorites on other occasions.
Aside from doing it the way it is done in iOS as outlined above(having the Genre list break down into artists and albums) maybe another (dare I say better) way to come at it would be a filter that could be accessible from anywhere that would let you select “show only 5 star” or something. So you could play all songs by an artist by going to the artist tab; or you could play only your favorites by going to the artist tab, hitting the “filter” button, then selecting ‘show only 5 star songs’ or something to that effect. That would filter the rest out.
I told you the first one was a big one! now the rest:
2) Speaking of stars.... Android doesn't seem to support them. Sure they can be viewed and adjusted in some players... but why? You can't sort by them, set up playlists based on them, or use them in any meaningful way.
3) 30 second rewind like in iOS. Seems simple enough. Yet deceptively hard to find.
4) This is another deceptively easy one... Why does the scrubber on ALL android music players show the play-time on the right of the scrubber, and a STATIC track length on the other? Again with iOS.. iOS shows the time left on the right. Seems easy, right? good luck finding an Android one that can do it.
5) a playing "X of XX" tally. on a playlist of 6 songs, it would be like a "now playing" 4 of 6. Seems easy.
I am by no means an apple fan-boi. I did, however come from the ipod touch. So i am used to the Apple way.
The funny thing is, everyone says Android is better because there is so much choice..... I would LOVE to choose one that does the above. It doesn't seem to exist.
please help!!
give power amp a try. i love it and it is very customizable.
I'm sure apple has patents on all those things.
Seriously, if you were that happy with the ipod touch, just get an iphone instead of learning a new app.

2 words. tiny screen.
seriously though, i am coming up on the 2 week mark. I have 2 weeks to return it. I haven't decided to do that yet, i posted here as a last ditch effort to find what i am looking for. I love the note 2.. .but if i am going to continue to carry an ipod, what is the point?
Poweramp and you're done.

You're welcome. Now get the dsp pack on you're own, figure it out and enjoy!

Thank you so much for the quick replies. I love this forum! very active..
Thanks for the link to PlayerPro. I actually already had that one. It doesn't do the main thing i want of a player though. There is no way to filter results of Genre by Artist. Unless i am doing it wrong. Can you advise on that? (see item 1 on my list in original post for a better elaboration of what i mean)
Still playing with poweramp... it is VERY close! love it so far, thanks for the tip guys.
Maybe someone can clarify to make it do EXACTLY what i am looking for.... When i go to Library at the bottom, I choose Genres. Then I choose the genre i am looking for... lets say Favorites, as in my original example.... then the Genre Albums pops up. This is very good... to make it perfect, is there a way to make it show Genre Artists instead of Albums? In my example of Green Day, it would shows up under Genres, Favorites, but there are several Green Day Albums that have songs listed as favorites. As is, i can play each album separately, but i would love to play all of the Green Day ones at once.
Again, thanks guy.. i hate to sound nit-picky about this, but i am just trying to get it how i want it.... i listen to about 6-7 hours of music a day in my car while working.
you guys are life-savers.... Tomorrow is the last day i had to turn my Note 2 back in and get an iphone. the ONLY reason i would have done that is for the music.
that's one (and only one) of the beauties of Android, for every request for a player or a function, there's 10 different players and opinions. keep searching, you'll find one. I wouldn't return this phone for 2 iphones. Android is my fav and this sammy is by far the caddy of phones right now, with nos and flames!

I would. Then I would sell both iPhones and get two Galaxy Note II's.
