I was doing a little bit of surfing and noticed that cyanogen has made a cyanogen 9 version for the galaxy 2 and the nexus s... And I was wondering if it was possible to get this on our phones...
This should be in the general section...
Anyways one day it will

Agree is should go in general. Cyanogen said that it wouldn't be until maybe January for an alpha of CM9.
As for asking for your specific phone, give it time... it hasn't even been a month since ICS source was released.

In the meantime, CM7.1 would be nice - but will they just skip over 7.1 for new devices and focus on 9?
Just as a heads up, Max Krivonos posted that he stopped working on CM7 for the amaze and is going straight to CM9,
Double edged sword. Great for CM9 but no CM at all for a few months.
Yea I really miss CM. Wish it would get here asap.

I've thought alot about selling this phone due to the lack of having a huge community support (face it, it's no Sensation, Desire Z/HD, Evo, etc)... The hardware is good, the replacement? Obviously a Galaxy Nexus, if there is a solid CM9 port for this device, I would probably just save myself the trouble and keep using this, This has everything that the international GNex would have, except for the huge high res amoled screen. Please Koush/Max!!!! (I would think quite a bit could be borrowed from the Pyramid builds, with the obvious exception of the NFC/camera)
Uh... How long has the phone been out?? Let's face that first before complaining about the lack of development... It'd be nice if there was but its not going to happen over night...

Be patient my friend! I think the reason behind (kinda) lacking developtment for this phone is because there will be an ICS came out soon for it in early 2012 and most Devs are waiting for the official Amaze ICS release rather than wasting their time to built rom that would only last for less than two months
On that perspective I am really thankful for Xboarder for his effort to brought us something to satisfied our addictiveness of flashing meanwhile
I am more thankful to Max Krivonos, and Keyan Mobli (Scepterr/kmobs), Max is probably gonna be the maintainer for the Amaze for CM9 and is currently the maintainer for the MT4GS, kmobs is the maintainer of the Sensation for CM9 and has it to a point where he's said "So I'm now using ICS as my daily driver"... There is hope, but if you're looking for CM7/9 or any REAL AOSP build, don't expect xboarder to deliver that, I don't think he compiles anything, he's a themer/kanger/(insert less offensive term here). There is hope, but I'm dying to see some actual AOSP builds, GB or ICS.

Well, I'm by no mean a tech guy or whatsoever in that manner. All I can do is follows instruction to flashing Rom and stuff so when it come to judging who done what I have no idea eventhough I'm very much understanding what kang is ...
Perhaps when Max and whoever on CyanogenMod team came over and gave us some ICS or CM9 goodness, 'til then, the very few peoples who get this Amaze forum go on as it is and gave us something to played with is Xboarder56, Mike1986 and NRGZ28 .... and for that I am appreciates their times and effort putting into it
Heck, I even thanksful those themer like Alexia Whitehurst, killathenoob, TheSneakerWhore for uploading their theme file even though I myself know how to extract files from rom and uploading onto UOT kitchen
Those guy are ways better than those who did nothing .

Just trying to keep options out there during our "slow" (see:new) period. Development takes time--Hell, I'm stuck on a macbook until I can save up for a notebook. Once I get that, I'll be able to do real theming/modding. UOT framework feels like a cop-out right now, but it is all that is being offered and we need the activity to draw more people. I have a to-do list of mods I want to do, but until I get my hardware back, it isn't happening.
Ultimately, it is patience. This phone is very new--ICS is around the corner.

There is still very much a lot of effort being put in here.
I also am thankful to everyone helping out during our slow period. Although I can't wait for some true aosp action. I absolutely hate sense. It's pretty, but I just prefer aosp

Does anyone know the current status of ICS development for Amaze? Contemplating switching from Sensation, which is just at the doorstep of getting pure AOSP ICS, currently few minor bugs to be worked out. Just wondering how far development has gone, perhaps at other sites?
Xboarder is doing a ton of the work here and as far as I know he is the one working on it. I believe his latest thought was porting it from another device but so far all we have had is a functional touchscreen.

Similar stuff going on @ sensation - Tripnraver is doing awesome work @ Modaco. I had tried his pure AOSP ICS rom and it's almost ready, save camera and bt, and I can't believe how amazingly fast and snappy it was. Not my daily driver yet, but mighty close.
I guess I should be expecting similar time frame from xboarder (i used one of his CM7 based roms on sensation).
I'll raise a toast to our first successful developer, and send them some beer change, too They all deserve much for their hard work.
Here's the thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1378294
The last post from him says he is working on something else currently.
Is this ever going to happen? CM7 had easily the longest run time on my DINC. Just curious if we're going to get it or not!
It doesnt officially name any devices but they put together a little chart to help figure out if you will get an official cm9 release. Check it out. http://androidspin.com/2012/03/14/will-your-device-get-cm9-the-cyanogenmod-team-has-that-answer-for-you/
Honestly, I don't think it's going to happen. Based on the No answer to Does it currently have an official CM7 Release?, the next question is answered No as well.
Most people I've talked to about this seem to skip that and go to the question Is the manufacturer releasing ICS?
Based on the chart linked above (which is official and I saw it on their Google+), I don't think we have a high chance. I'll most likely be returning mine today unless my wife wants it when the SGS3 comes out.
The first rule about CyanogenMod ETAs...You don't ask for CyanogenMod ETAs.
Nobody asked for an ETA. Asked if we'd be getting an official release, whether it's now or next year.
No reason to troll someone just for asking a question.
There's an ongoing thread for it in the Dev section as to where it stands, probably some good info in there...
The only way it will ever get official support is one of two ways:
1) A current CM developer gets a Rezound and ports it, or
2) One of you guys ports it yourself and becomes an official maintainer of it, keeping the project active by continuing to merge in all the official CM9 changes as they occur.
There are still a lot of technical issues preventing AOSP builds from functioning fully on the Rezound. Once those are sorted out, eventually somebody will build a CM9 port. Whether or not it becomes officially supported by CyanogenMod as an official release is entirely up to the developers who ported it and whether or not they want to work with the CM team to make it official.
As soon as we get ics kernel source its very likely that a dev will attempt to port cm9.

~I do sincerely apologize if i posted this in the wrong thread, kinda was torn between general and Q&A, but Q&A seemed more fit according to the forum rules.~
If you aren't already aware, there is a hybrid rom floating around varied devices. The rom isnt a hybrid between say ICS and JB, but rather a hybrid of cm10, aokp and paranoid. If you are curious about the specific details, just search XDA for PAC. Im trying to get back into porting, and maybe even back into developing roms, but i dont want to step on any developers toes, or over work myself. I think I would love to try and tackle this port and bring another JB rom option to us all, but i need to know if it is even worth my time.
My question is simple, Is the photon community interested in a PAC-Port?
Please, answer the poll, and if you have any added feedback/comments/questions, simply reply to the topic and i will be sure to read it through.
I would greatly appreciate your feedback, and with any luck, i can start working on it as soon as next week.
Thank you all in advance for your feedback/input!

*now if i could only get up to the developers required 10 posts* :silly:
I'm interested.
We had another community project for the Photon lead by Th3Bill and Jokersax called Kitchen Sink that was based off of CM9
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1603595
What is project kitchen sink?
Its cm9, miui, cna, and aokp in one installer with all the options, tweaks, modifications, and changes you could ever want.

ah yes, haha, i miss that. Here, look at this link to get a better understanding of the rom. i think you might have it a little confused. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=32482802
Pac, is one rom, built from multiple roms.
PKS was multiple roms built into one aroma installer.
hope your still interested.
The more roms the better I say.
Seems how I flip back and forth between cna aokp and paranoid I could definitely live with and love all the options in one ROM.

Ah, cool. Of course I still am.
of course that is a good idea thats what i exactly need option of CNA with AOPK mixed with those of CM10 and phablet of paranoid
i even tried some porting myself
Well awesome. it seems that everyone would be interested in the rom. im getting everything together, but i probably wont have it started till next week. i wont give an eta due to my schedule(in college, working, taking care of my fiance) i might need surgery, so that could delay things as well, but im excited to tackle this project and finally contribute to the community.
On another note, if i get it up and running, i may decide to add in an extra rom for kicks. So instead of just pac, it might be pacc or pac-x. Thanks for your feedback. if you have any suggestions or added feedback, feel free to post your replys. I am following this thread, so i will be in touch.
Wish me luck!

Yeah. This would require your phone to be unlocked and rooted. This is because the roms it will ne built from require an unlocked bootloader, and a lot of the features require root access. Another note to everyone; I do not use gsm, so once this rom is up and running, i may ask for help specifically for gsm debugging for those in need of gsm.
Hate to like bump the thread at all, just wanted to update on progress.
The majority of the rom is ported over. Having a few problems as far as it booting and staying booted, got a boot logo starts, and then loops, so still a WIP.
On a side note; i wont be working on this rom for a bit, My hours have been doubled at work, and i just got in a wreck today( im not at fault ), car is totaled. So
a) i need time to recuperate
b) needa figure out car situation
Sorry for the delay folks. After im feeling better ill be starting up again, and maybe putting in some more time into it.
Thank you for your patience, ive been having a lot of fun working on this rom, and so when its up, i will be maintaining it as long as possible. =)
Time for my good friend bengay. lol
happy pre-halloween!

My sincerest apologies everyone. If you are not aware, Th3bill has released PAC. I just wanted to thank everyone for their feedback as far as interest in me porting PAC over. I couldn't be happier that bill made the rom. I think it is best left to those with more experience and who aren't so rusty. I had a lot of fun working on my port, but due to the circumstances i was not able to finish in time. This all being said, this topic is now closed. Have fun everyone, and happy holidays.

Hello,
I've been a fan of this site for a while, and I just created an account tonight.
I noticed that the ICS kernel source was released by HTC today. I am looking forward to having a nice ICS AOSP rom with working video. Thank you DEVS!
With the ICS kernel source, are we limited to ICS versions of android? Can the kernel source be modified to work with Jelly Bean? Maybe CM10.1?
From a verizon customer holding on to unlimited data,
thanks again to all of the DEVs and individuals that contribute to the Thunderbolt community.

From what I understand it's being worked on, maybe not actively right now but it seems to be a strong possibility.
HTC released their kernel version 3.0.16. That will out-of-the-box support Ice Cream Sandwich. Jelly Bean needs 3.0.31 (or higher). I think what the kernel developers now need to do is back port the necessary bits and pieces to HTC's version to make it compatible.

Already have one patched up to around 3.0.80, just gotta finish adding in the new board files, LTE drivers and defconfig.
As we all know though, older kernels can also be made to run versions they aren't intended for as well.
Also already have CM10.1 running pretty darn well...

Cyanogenmod 10.1 official support?
I'm curious. Once the devs are able to get the kernel ready for cyanogenmod 10.1, has anyone thought about submitting that kernel to cyanogenmod for official Thunderbolt cyanogenmod builds?
From the posting linked below, cyanogenmod requires a tested kernel and a developer or group of developers that will maintain the kernel for official support. Is cyanogenmod official support a possibility with the kernel the DEVs are working on?

I can't speak for everyone, but let's get "that" kernel worked out first.
It's now possible, but still not exactly a simple task.
Having already knocked out a custom Sense ICS kernel from the source was done without much hassle already.
And Jelly Bean has come pretty far for the Bolt already, but making a fully functional Jelly Bean kernel from HTC's ICS source may take a bit more dilligence.
So I would just say let's take it one step at a time.
Official builds would require dedication on a dev or multiple devs parts to continue updating and supporting it.
There aren't a lot of candidates left, that may still have enough personal interest in doing so when that time comes.
Basically, that's just not something that can be predicted at this point, as there are still uncertainties surrounding such a thing, from several different aspects/angles.
It would of course be great to see the old Bolt be added to the list of devices which are officially supported.
Who knows what else the future may hold for this faithful beast that keeps getting surprises, even if long overdue.
