Some people that I send SMSs say that my texts doesn't has letters with accents, I mean, letters disappear...
For example: "telemóvel" will be sent like "telem vel" , "almoço" -> "almo o" (Portuguese words)
My bl is still locked, and I already did a factory reset, and tried SEUS, but problem continues...
With another phone, the problem disappear.
What can I do?
No one know anything about it?

But it only happens with my texts... even some phones receive with strange characters
As aimcr7 said normally this kind of problem is caused due to the receivers phone's font doesn't having characters like these ó , ç.Soinstead it shows a blank space.Other than changing the fonts of his/her phone & not using those characters in sms I don't think there is much you can do to fix this.

I understand that, but the other phones receive that characters from other phones normally, only from mine is weird... I tried to send messages to 3 different phones: Samsung monte, lg p350 (both with stock firmware) and doesn't receive ç and á (spaces), and tried another that doesn't remember the model that receive ã instead of an á

Hi,
Two weeks ago the sms service stopped working. I can't send any messages. I checked with my carrier and they told me to try with mi sim card on other phone, so I did and it worked so I'm guessing it's a phone problem (they can't help because I didn't bought my phone with them) so I was wondering if you can help me?
I can receive but can't send (just keeps saying "sending" but nothing else)
Thanks
Usual SMS problem is wrong network settings in message centre .

Ok, but when the called the checked my setting and nothing seemed to be wrong.

From the messaging app: Settings > Message Centre. Does it have a number there? If so, Google the "Message Centre" (or Center, depending on your location) number for your carrier. If it doesn't match, change it to match.
Ok thanks, but checke and it's the correct one for my carrier and country.

Hmm. weird. OK, try clearing out the message centre number, and putting it back in. If that doesn't work, try a third party SMS client, like GoSMS or HandCent.
Thanks now it works. Still wondering why the stock messaging app doesn't =(

So GoSMS or HandCent works, but stock Messaging app does not? That's weird.
If you really want stock back, try a factory reset. If that doesn't work, you can re-flash a stock firmware.

Hello guys...
So I have an issue with my Xperia S, the problem is I can't send a 2 or 3 part SMS and the other issue is that the recipient can't see my special characters, looks à, or é.
If anyone knows a solution, I would be appreciated.

1 maybe your provider problem my works fine
Second the special character must be unicode or under region where you are.
Search for wikipedia for ASCII.
You will learn quickly what i telling you.

The strange thing is that before I've had a GNexus and it all worked fine... Maybe it is something related with the micro SIM or the SMS app...
Ps: Just tried Go SMS with same results as stock MMS app

Hi there neo MT15 supposedly has unlimited call log history but i can only see the log starting from the month start..!! where does the rest of the logs go..!
I never deleted any log ..!
Why don't you upgrade to .62 Stock Firmware? It may solve your problem
well when i was on X10 .. the same thing was there tooo..! it also shows limited timed log ... not the complete log..!!
or may be it has a hidden limit which overwrites after each entry, deleting old adding new..!! not sure though

Hi all, just wondering if any of you have had any problems with the unread sms message count on the home screen.
When I get a msg, I get the unread msg count on both the home screen and apps screen. When I read the msg the unread msg count on the app screen disappears, but on the home screen the msg count remains.
I tried all sorts to resolve the problem, deleted the cache, resetting the phone, re-applying the stock le8 firmware.
I have finally narrowed it down to changing the font.
If I change the font from default to anything else, the problem occurs, even if you change it back and delete the cache, the only resolution I've found is to reset the phone and not change the font.
Has anyone else had this problem?
Thanks
Rich
P.S. I can get rid of the unread msg count if I reboot the phone, but once I get another msg, I'm back to the same problem.

Maybe is firmware related.
What rom are you running now?
Maybe an update to latest LF5 or LF6 will solve your issue

Hi, This is my first post and i need help, I was texting with my new phone (SGS3) in the stock messaging app, and i wrote an SMS (4 Pages) and suddenly the SMS was automatically converted to MMS, and there is no option to disable this horrible and ridiculous feature, and theres also no option to turn it off! So how can this be possible? Such an expenssive phone, and you cant even write freely an SMS??? Why is there a limit of 3 pages? I was wondering if someone could do a MOD to fix this! I had the same problem with the galaxy note, and there was a little mod that could fix that, so i think im not the only one that want this fixed! (i dont like custom ROMS or anything like that, and i dont like apps like GoSMS, or stuff like that, i just like the stock messaging app, but with the fix) i just want PLEASE a little mod to fix this BIG problem. (Sorry for my english)
Sms are limited to 160 characters. Otherwise it has to be sent as an Mms.

Thats not what i asked for, i mean.. im coming from an iphone 4s and that never happened, in fact it never happened to me in all the phones i have had!! So, i dont see the point of converting an SMS automatically to MMS just because i write more than 3 pages, thats just ridiculous But the thing is, that i would like to know if someone could do a MOD for the stock messaging app to fix that and make it without characters restrictions! To explain it better this is what i want for my phone: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1371755
no one texts anymore, use whatsapp or some sort of instant messaging

i'm pretty sure that's not how it works, SMS longer than 160 characters get sent as multiple SMS which then then recombined back into one sms on the recipients phone. I've had the issue before when one part of a multi SMS message was delayed causing me to have the first or second half only and when the other one arrived sometime later the phone still knew to combined them together.
MMS is only when you attach a picture, video or voice clip to the message.
I have just tested what the OP has said and its true, if you type a long SMS, after the 3rd set of 260 characters, (there is a counter just above the send icon) it then gets converted to a MMS
But to the OP, I do wonder why you would want to type such a long SMS on a regular basis? you can also just send the sms at 3 pages then send a new one.
Can't you just send after every two pages. Yeah, it cost more but it will solve your issue.

Sms are limited to 160 characters (Per Page), And when you write more than 3 Pages, it will automatically convert your SMS to MMS without asking or option to disable, it will just convert it to MMS. (it will convert it even if you dont attach ANYTHING, Even if it just based on text)
Use Go sms... But this is stupid...
S3 shouldn't do that...
Lol at the Wattsapp suggestions

Wow I just realised that there is no option to cancel this 'feature' after I read your thread.
I do hope this is resolved since for those on Payandgo networks, like me, MMS isn't always free whereas practically even mobile plan has free SMS. Defeats the objective here, you can send very long SMS texts (counts as more than 1 but still sends fine) from other phones no problem. On the galaxy nexus it was possible to disable this SMStoMMS converting problem easily, I hope the devs come up with a workaround..

Who still has data rates for SMS and MMS? I thought this stuff was free now? In Australia SMS for free is pretty much standard and most plans have at least $500 of credit included, an MMS costs max 0.50c, is this seriously an issue? Just use a different messegeing ap or use an instant messenger.

Guys, am I right in saying that this was always a problem with stock messaging app? Hence most custom ROMs have a modded 'No MMS convert' message app? I remember this limitation on my stock SGS2 back in the day - dont remember this ever happening to me after custom roms.... or maybe I never sent over 3 pages.......
I just tried Texting over 311 characters from my SGS2 to my SGS3 and them back..........No MMS converting.... One whole page too....
Therefore this is not a problem with custom ROMs...
