I am running OMFGB and sometimes my signal bars turn white and I have to change the signal select to get connectivity back. Is there anyway of making it permanently stay on automatic.

Get a toggle like widgetsoid from the market! Then you can toggle 3g and 2g
Thanks mate ill give it a try
Edit- does not work, only links you to settings, and 2.2 doesn't give you a 3g only option

go to testing settings from dial pad type *#*#4636#*#*
then scroll down and change where it says set preferred network type try WCDMA only shouldn't drop down to 2G from that
@xepter, thanks lot it workedike a charm ;p
Sometimes my phone kicks me back to 2g which can be a pain when im dl, this saves me

Does your connection auto-switch between wifi and 3g?
I was out earlier and the wifi was still locked onto to my home network yet I was no where near home. I wasn't able to browse etc as there was obviously no connectivity. I would have expected it to switch over to 3g or H.

Anything I might be doing wrong? Or settings that may need tweaking?

Could it be down to the fact that I have gps turned off so phone cannot track position? Do you leave this on permanently and if so what's the battery drain like with it on?
Let's get some response on this please. I would like to determine if I have a faulty device and whether I need to start arranging a return.
Thanks
I have GPS on, but it doesn't use any battery unless an app tries to use it. But I don't think this has anything to do with your issue. There aren't any settings that I've changed. Try a reboot.

Y5 Saver
There's a very good app called Y5 Saver - https://market.android.com/details?id=pl.polidea.y5 which autoturns your wifi on/off depending whether your in the proximity of the wifi router (uses network triangulation).
Only issue is that it seems to override 'airplane mode'.
THIS IS ON CM7
What does a WHITE signal and wifi color mean?
My theme is meant to show them as green, but only the battery is green.
Does this mean its low signal? I thought it was, and i did a bit of searching
and got some people saying that its only green when the phone is syncing with google.

Funny, I get the same thing sometimes with the Ginger rom I'm building. I wonder that it means.....

Green means it's connected to Google's servers and you are logged in.

When I was using CM7 when it's white it means I have no connection even when the icon is in there. I really like that because my phone disconnects a lot.

check your setting in data/battery manager in settings. See if perfomance is checked under battery and in data make sure data saver is off and the checked boxes are first and third boxes
If both are there. Go to privacy ... chose factory reset. This will restore your phone to stock settings. Your apps u download from market will.be gone. Check the top to first. Chances are one is the problem. Also go into dialer and dial *22899 before factory reset and see if that works if other two are not the issue

Replace the following attachments to the system/framework/
Play the signal when the phone is switched on, please open the flight mode, close it again, later signal will appear
Will this work for cdma users running ltetakers rom
