Ok I think I just went crazy or something. I had been messing around with my phone a bit, kinda just looking around the house in 3D for about 15 minutes or so. I put the phone up and went to my back yard when all of a sudden I noticed my whole yard was in 3D...LOL!!! I know it is real life 3D but I was in focus like I was looking at my phone.
It only lasted a minute or two but believe me it was there. Kinda strange and I did re-focus back to normal vision but it spooked me for a sec... I guess my question would be is this a good thing or bad thing. I mean it is giving the eyes some exercise but I think maybe it should be used in moderation? I know we are all different and my eyes are lets say really older than most but I was just curious if anybody else has had this happen. Kinda funny when it does...

I think that the way the parralax display works is like the old 3D pictures. You have to unfocus your eyes just enough to see the hidden image. Looking at it long enough make cause the eyes focus to stay that way temporarily. It is cool, and you have to focus closely to see the 3D well.
I HATE guitar hero, but I played it and after a while the walls move as well as anything you look at. I believe his eyes gave him that affect until they refocused.

I guess my eyes are kinda old and the transformation between the 3D and normal kinda took it's time getting there. I must admit I got spooked for a second...then hey this is cool...then hey it's gone...LOL!!!

I have something like this happen when I close my eyes after extended 3d viewing. Kinda see images in the same way they are presented on the screen.
Then again, when i close my eyes after a lot of tetris or most puzzle games I see the game objects in motion.

It's the way your eyes are focusing. I get the effect too. Not noticeable unless I'm really concentrating on it.
I've noticed this effect after looking at a lot of 3d pictures while I was tired. It went away after I slept it off. I suspect the eyes either get tired of moving and sort of stick in their focus, or the tired mind can't bypass hard line recognition because after its been flooded with the sharp depth delineations from the phones 3d screen.
Geez I almost went 3d reading that...LOL!!! Pretty deep stuff.

This happened to me too! My wife thinks I'm crazy, but I know what the OP is saying. I think your brain just starts thinking about depth more than it normally does. It's like my 3D elevated my brain to another level...
is there a way to make your home screen/lock screen 3D? I've been playing around with it and seems like the only 3D feature on this phone is the camera and viewing 3D pics and videos... it would be really nice if I could make the whole phone 3D. Any advice will be greatly appreciated!

This cannot be done it was designed to work only with pictures, videos, and some games.
while I agree this is a dumb noob question, I also kind of understand where the guy is coming from..
I saw a commercial the other day for the 3d for the first time, and they show the icons on the homescreen coming out of the screen as it says FIRST 3d phonneeee!
I don't want a 3d homescreen, but i still think that is a kind of deceptive commercial that leads to these kind of posts.
Yes cause the commercial doesn't mention only those, just has android tossing glasses on main screen with it in 3d still. I know it was only meant to be video pics & games, but I think the lock screen should at least have 3d as well, or able to put your 3d pics as your background pic.

On my old HD2 i was running the rom from Kingdom and there was a check to enable 3D homescreen under settings/display. When you activated it, you could tilt your phone and the screen would shift and seem to pop out. Even though the 3D part did not work on the HD2. Sadly, it was not on my EVO 3D when I got it, but maybe it is hidden or can be enable with root or cooked into a rom once the bootloader is unlocked.
a 3D live wallpaper would be great.
Idk I could have sworn that in one of the tech demo's way before it came out, one of htc's reps had shown 3d interface and home screen. I specifically remember because I was stoked after they showed the weather app which I thought to my self would look awesome in 3d

while most wouldn't want it. i still think it would be a "wow that's cool" factor with a 3d lock screen for people that want to check out your phone kinda like how the 3d pictures and movies are. its not like we use the 3d part all the time but its cool to show people when they ask what its all about.
I heard spb shell has a 3d option for their homescreen. I just can't justify paying $15 for a launcher though.

Agree that it would only be a wow factor since 3d will eat up your battery and you aren't gonna use it much just like live wallpapers.
My wife is kinda mad... or confused... or just in "that time of month"... Im not really sure, but she says she cant see the 3D effect, and in the same time she cant look at the 3D effect for more than a second or two, because it hurts her eyes...?
Is there some people who is 3D "blind" for this effect that is on our phones?

Yep it's totally possible.

When I was 12 I went swimming in a lake near where I grew up. I did so with my eyes open and ended up getting an infection. It scarred my cornea just over my pupil, so I don't see so well out of my left eye. That impediment to my binocular vision makes it far more difficult to see 3d effects. It also killed my depth perception for a while (until i got used to it) so it killed my budding baseball career. Imagine watching a 12 year old kid in the outfield, running up for a grounder, planting his feet, putting his glove on the ground, and the ball stopping 5 feet in front of him. Or better yet, running up for the grounder and it flies right past him. - LOL
Ya know what? My I never thought I had any problem with my vision. My eyes just strained a lot but I could see. Got checked out by a specialist the family knows, turns out my eyes are just a hair facing away from each other (why the strain). got glasses to correct it over time.
Before this, 3D hurt my eyes really bad. After glasses, 3D is as natural as looking across the room. interesting how just being slightly off can make such a big difference.

Yep, I can't see the 3D effect on the phone at all, but then I'm stereoblind as well.
I've taken a few 3D pics of a chair just to see how it works and when I show other people, they all say "Wow!! That's really cool!" I however see each sub-picture sort of overlapped and offset from each other. Where it jumps out in 3D to others, all I see is a ghosted mess of 8 chair legs.
It's actually more common than you might think. All it takes is a slight misalignment of the eyes and you can't see 3D... at least the way most of us do. So someone like Tommy from the most recent season of Hell's Kitchen: probably no need for him to get an Evo 3D.

Came in here solely because of the interesting name..
I thought for a second y'all might be starting a 'club for the sightless' who were suckered into buying a 3D phone.
Anyway, I have terrible vision in BOTH eyes, so I wear contacts to correct, of course. However, if I lose a contact, or have to take one of them out for some reason, then bye-bye 3D effect, (and those "Magic Eye" pictures are absolutely impossible, even if I know what I'm looking for.)
Sounds possible, then, that someone who simply has a pronounced difference in vision quality between their two eyes "naturally" might have a problem 'seeing' the 3D effect?

I`ve meet two people that couldnt see the 3D effect (my wife - of course)
and some dude. Everybody else thinks the 3D is awesome (myself included! :-D )
But the weird part with my wife is that she cant see the 3D on my phone,
but there is no problem in the movies/theatre/big screen (with glasses), but yeah that is two different kind off 3D, but still... weird.
(and the samsung and iphone 3D blindness - LOL nice one! )
I have nystagmus (seach wikipedia since i cant post links) so i can't see 3d in more or less any form. I still got the evo 3d because it a good phone. It suck when people are like "you can't see that?!?!?!"
I read an article about the human eye and the 3D effect. It was mostly talking about the "headaches' people get from looking at 3D content. For the typical human, throughout the years, your eyes are trained to look at things exactly the way we see it. Shapes, angles different objects are embedded in are brains in 2D form. So now we get to looking at 3D content, which teaches are eyes to look at a picture (which are really two of the same images) and look at one image at a normal distance and the other image at a somewhat further distance, thus this being the reason we get that effect. Now none of use come out the wound looking at the world like this so when we are exposed to this type of effect normally it will cause headaches. The more 3D content you see, your eyes & brain recieves training on how to acknowledge this way of seeing certain things. That explains the reason you don't get headaches after a while, and how you can look at the 3D images without thinking about it. Oppose to seeing that sh!t, rubbing your eyes & popping a advil.

Anyone else have the game Monsters Ate My Condo and the game keeps crashing their phone? Guess I should've read the reviews by device first.
Too bad tho since it is an awesome original game. Think the same issue is on the One X. Really gonna have to get on AOSP soon to see if it works.

Definitely taking some time.. It doesn't feel near as good as black ops 1 so far. The guns all feel the same, doesn't feel crisp plus it is plagued again by connection problems.
It's early tho.. I'll post pix in a few

I don't have to care for discs. As soon as a new Call of Duty title is released, it goes from the case into my PS3 and doesn't leave until the next release.
Yeah this game is most definitely different...and super different for me.
I've been playing mw2 for 2 years straight. I picked up Black Ops 1 when it came out and then went to mw2 and never looked back..in mw2 when you shot at someone..chances were pretty good that you could kill them. And if they shot at you, chances were pretty good that you could find a way out of the situation before dying. And to me that seems fair because in mw2 there were gun fights I lost because someone ran away and I just didn't hit them enough, and there were gun fights I won because of the same thing.
In black ops 2, if ANYONE sees you..you're dead. They don't have to have good aim or anything. You can't win gun fights unless you win by surprise or your connection is better. Kinda makes me mad. Plus, the spawn system is total trash.
All in all...this game is sweet though and I'm pretty pleased. The game is pretty damn ambitious and I respect that. It really isn't the same ol' COD put out every year.

Is Spawning that bad for you? I ask because I actually think there have been improvements over the last couple of games. Remember though, if you're on a small enough map, like 'Hijacked' for instance, and the entire enemy team is spread about the map, you're gonna spawn close to someone. I feel like I'm put far enough out of the way of danger when I respawn, but I see more of a problem with lag compensation (example: I run through an area, make a turn and don't see someone running up in front of me and get killed, but the killcam will show that I looked right at the person).

Well the spawning is just really bad on small maps...and for some reason I keep playing those maps.But now I'm just getting used to shooting someone and turning right around or to my side because for some reason...people seem to be everywhere but nowhere at the same time. I'm confused as to how there's no Marathon Pro, yet when I kill one person...there are 3 other people next to me despite the fact that I'm pretty far away from where the action should be. And all the hiding and head glitching is really killing me...with no marathon pro its unbearable because I turn around a corner and just get dropped by someone hiding behind anything...then I spawn so far away that making the run to anywhere isn't worth it because someone WILL be hiding.
The hiding in this game is beyond ridiculous. They tried to stop camping but all they did was add some anticamping stuff to Ghost. But there are too many things to hide behind..too many corners..lag compensation issues and some more stuff....it makes playing the game hit or miss.
I pretty much have a heart attack every 3rd game. Ain't no way on earth I'll be able to play this as much as mw2...I'm gonna try to though because I need a new game...but mannnn :/

I've had mine since the 40GB fatty model. Had it up until a couple months ago and the Blu Ray drive went out. I plan to fix it at some point, but I have a slim 160GB now, so it's not priority anymore, LOL.
