I hope this is the right section, I didn't see a carrier specific forum. Anyway, I am considering switching to T-Mobile next month. I was wondering if anyone knows how the coverage is in LaPorte IN. How is call quality? How fast is data? I looked at the coverage map online but we all know how reliable those can be. Thank you.

So I've read a bunch on this from all sorts of sites. I believe this to be possible, but need some help with the technical aspect of this.
I can get it activated that is not an issue.
A few questions:
1) How to get the phone talking to the network?
I've updated to the verizon prl, and when I *228 I get the verizon programming prompts, but It won't update programming due to not being activated.
2)Do you think the Thunderbolt radio will work with the Evo 3d?
2a) If not, would it be possible to merge the T-bolt radio code with the Evo radio code to create a hybrid?
3)Settings, would any know the ##3282# settings for the verizon network.
I understand this is difficult, I've also read the post, "Why not just go to sprint?", I'm not interested in those responses. This is a challenge, and I'd like to complete it.
Dev's what do you know?
Someone feel free to correct me, but I believe the two networks, although both cdma, work differently from one another. So I do not think its possible to flash a phone from one to the other...
Sent from another Dimension!
Let's break it down.
ROM: Perhaps, if I have to fork a github to create it.
Guide: May be when I get it to work.
Q: Absolutely, but I need people that know what they are talking about to help with a solution. General Q&A will just get filled with similar stupid answers like yours Liquid. If you don't know how or are unwilling to help don't post.
The two chipsets are very similar 8660 vs 8655. Both are capable of the same 3g connections. I'm not concerned with WiMax.
I will NOT be changing MEIDs or anything of the sort. Nothing illegal.
It may be possible, but I do know that Verizon WILL NOT activate a Sprint ESN or vice versa. I don't care if you have a buddy that works at Verizon they can't do it nor will Sprint activate a Verizon ESN. The ONLY way to do this is to illegally change the ESN which is not permitted to be discussed here at XDA. So, not only are you in the wrong section, you are in the wrong forum all together. Take this kind of question to some shady part of the interwebz where it belongs.

that's what I figured no input in this forum. Good job guys, and great job lufc.
Hi guys, after a brief unfortunate stint with the iPhone I'm heading back to Android. It's been a while since I had an Evo with Sprint and now with Verizon I'm wondering if I'll still be able to do free tethering if I root? I thought I read somewhere about Verizon somehow preventing this. Thanks!

Hello.
I have received my HTC Aria of At&t logo on it as a gift from USA. I paid to at&t and unlocked it in India. I was using my phone as a simple without mobile internet. I thought that this is a new release mobile so no one have the 3G settings for this.
But now I am in studying in London, UK and i cant use any network accept Lycamobile. In this one, I also cannot use the mobile internet.
I have call the customer care but they always told that they send me settings but i never received it. What's going on in this i don't have any idea...
Its too hard to roam around in the big city without having an Internet in my phone.
Do i have to unlock it again according to UK? or is there any other problem i am facing.?
Please Help...
Thank you
Regards
Tausifali.

I'll be taking a trip to Western Europe shortly and am looking for options to continue to use data in a few countries. Not concerned with phone calls. My phone is CDMA so that is out. Also have access to a T-Mobile Galaxy S II, but it is not unlocked. Also I don't think the T-mobile version works well for Europe. I was looking into getting a portable hotspot MiFi for the trip and found Xcom Global, but $15 a day seems a bit much.
What's the best option to stay connected? Is there any company that offers temporary android phones with data for travelers? Or a cheaper company for a MiFi? Need data in London, Amsterdam, and Paris.

Whoops. Sorry.
Well I did find my old Touch Pro 2 which does run on the Europe frequencies. Now I need to figure out the SIM cards. Any suggestions from anyone else who has used SIM cards in Europe? I will be traveling between London, Paris, and Amsterdam. Could use some coverage on the Eurostar between Paris and London as well since they don't seem to have wifi yet. Thank you for any help.
I guess I'll need to unlock it for SIM and then disable sense, etc. so that only wifi tether is running to save battery as much as possible.
Hi, everyone. I got my mother's lg g3 verizon phone when she passed away, and while I know that verizon phones are unlocked, I cannot use data with my French carrier. Verizon can't help, so I'm kinda sick. It's a much nicer phone than I can afford, so I really would like to use it. I think I have to change the APN settings, but I have no idea how, or what to change. Can anyone here help?
Hi! Please post questions in the Q&A section. I'll ask a moderator to move the thread.
I don't have any knowledge myself regarding changing APNs on the VS985, but it's possible that unlocking some of the other radio frequencies used might help too. I don't have personal experience with that either, but there are threads in this section having to do with that, maybe in Q&A too. Use the search field on both sections for "unlock" and you should find something.
I would guess that your first step is to make sure that the carrier you want to use it with uses any of the radio frequencies that are available on this variant. Some of the threads you find in the search results might list what all this phone supports, then you'd have to compare that to information about what your carrier uses.
