Anyone else having this problem? I was rooted on 4.1.26 (<i think that was it). and updated and rooted on the newest 4.1.57 using a guide here. Well I tried to send a friend a picture and it keeps coming up with an error. I also heard the tethering workaround using a custom apn wont work anymore either (havent tried myself). but I just wanna know if im the only one experiencing this or not, and if im not alone is there anyone with a solution? I am new to this forum and to android (changed from iphone).
Hi there when i purchased my phone i had a Gingerbread installed in it and it was all fine good once i inserted my data cable and pc companion said that it has a better android version of update called ICS..
anyway i had enough of ICS because of its bug...
i tried rolling my phone back to the Gingerbread but its not like the same one i had with me before i downloaded many types of ftf files and flashed but none of them were like the first firmware i had at the start when i purchased my phone...
is there anyone who can provide me better and good Gingerbread firmware which has no bugs at all?? like the one i had before when i purchased my phone??
the thing is when i flashed rolled back to Gingebread i downloaded ftf of Gingerbread through internet but they had bugs like cannot switch of vibration from dial pad could anyone help me on getting the proper ftf which is good and clean??
Help would be much more appreciated thank you
Hello folks,
Here's what I'm trying to achieve. My two Us are Middle East devices with the SI numbers 1261-8745 (white) and 1261-8746 (black.) As some of you may well know, there was (and still isn't) no "official" ICS upgrade for Mideast-sold U's, so I had to flash ICS manually. I tried several versions of ICS, including Generic_World, but all I got was lag, lag and more lag! Sometimes the problem was so severe that the devices were almost unusable, what with having to reboot several times a day. I mean, heck, my old Xperia Rays, with their inferior hardware, perform much better with their "officially" obtained ICS upgrades - so much so that sometimes I find myself picking them up in the morning and leaving my U's at home!
So, I realized I was much better off with the stock GB that originally was on the devices. Now, I don't have the exact original FTF/kernel that came out of the box, but I'm figuring I should be fine with Generic_World or something similar. Problem is, each time I flash GB (2.3.7), it tells me that an update to ICS is available - which it never did when my phone was still on its original GB, not even through PC Companion. So, what I want is exactly this: to reflash GB and NOT to be notified of the ICS upgrade.
Now, I might have got this all wrong, but from what I've gathered so far, I figured that after flashing the GB rom, I can achieve this by editing the build.prop file and changing the SI numbers to the ones I mentioned above - which should prevent GB from notifying me of the ICS upgrade. Am I correct? Or am I missing something? Please let me know.
Best regards,
Shady
What you can do is that, root your Xperia with the GB f/w and then download an application that is capable of freezing system apps.. Freeze the 'update centre' app and it will not show any notification regarding the update..
Or download any root explorer and delete the same app!

Thanks, but what if I want to do it the hard way? Is there a way to get the phones back to the exact same stock GB that came on them out of the box (i.e. the one for the Middle East) without knowing what that exact version was? Is there a way to "modify" a Generic_World rom to turn it into that?
I also have two other brand new, unmolested U's that are still in lying in their boxes. Is there a way for me to "port" their stock roms into the older ones?

Hello everyone,
I am running into an issue where if I install a custom rom on my phone, I get no sound whatsoever. No sound from the speaker nor the earpiece. Also, related to having no sound, any app or anything I do relating to sound won't run or work on the phone strangely. (like Youtube for example, won't run)
Everything else works fine.
I tried multiple roms, and all of them ran into the same issue. When I reverted back to the stock rom or the backup I made fortunately, I get sound but I am lost as to why I get no sound from my S3 device with a custom rom. ALSO, when I do revert back to my old stock rom, I get a lot of gapp crashing for unknown reasons. So basically the phone is a DUD .
My Samsung Galaxy S3 device is model: SCH-R530U for US cellular. I hope I can find someone here who knows how to fix this issue =\.
Could it be that the Roms I installed don't have the sound drivers packaged? I made sure the Roms were compatible and all but I am not so sure since I guess I'm not really that experienced in Android.
Someone please help! I have had this issue for months with no solution or no way to fully revert back to a fresh stock rom with apps not crashing on me.
Bump, anyone?
I may be a couple years late but this means the ROM you flashed is not actually for d2usc
Hi xda
I am new to this site, so sorry in advance if this thread is posted in the wrong section of the forum. Please let me know if Im doing something incorrect.
Anyways, my problem is, that I have two SGS3's both flashed to cm-13.0-20160217-NIGHTLY-i9300 (older versions have been tried out as well), where one of them can't make or recieve calls. Everything else works on it - send and recieve texts, mobile data etc. (the IMEI and serial number are both original and intact). Both the phones were originally running the Android Jellybean 4.3 Nordic version (I9300XXUGND5_NEEGND1_Nordic_4.3), and both were flashed using twrp 3.0.0.1 (and running GAPPS 6.0 pico).
I find it strange, that the phone is able to make and recieve texts and access the mobile network, while not being able to make or recieve calls. Anyone got any idea as to why this is a problem?
It should be noted, that the phone has no trouble at all when running the stock Android 4.3 or CrDroid Android 5.1.1.
The two phones are completely identical, and only one of them has trouble with calls on cm-13.0-20160217-NIGHTLY-i9300 (and any other version of cm for that matter).
Hope somebody knows what the problem is.
