You are using a firmware not released by Samsung its a buggy beta test rom .
What do you expect but bugs ???????????
Change the modem if you want to .

Is there any method to change the modem without changing the actual firmware.. Like can i just put the modem file in odin and flash it without the other two file(pda and csc)... Thanks a lot for ur reply

1) Fastest modem :
It all depends on your region . Testing will help find a good modem . I used KI3 and KI4 . It does everything I want .
2)Latest modem :
KL1 or KP1 I think .
EDIT:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1131950
Here's a link to the modem thread . BTW , try searching before posting . This thread is stickied and easy to find .
Latest KP1 possible KP2 is around by now .

Lost connection.

Hey there!
First of i want to tell you that i don't know if this is the right section to post this in otherwise tell me please.
Okay so i am having a big problem with my connection, it drops at random and never reconnects till i reboot my device. I am having this problem since i changed my kernel and my rom to sensation rom. I had another kernel and lite 'ning rom before. Now im wondering what could be causing the connection loss. The kernel or the rom or could it be both?
I hope someone can help me with this cause it is rather annoying not recieving important calls.
Peace

Not if you read the rules .
Question = Q&A which is logical .
Stock rom and test is the only way .

What model is you phone (international, T, G etc)? I have an I9100t which has a different modem to the international version. When I flash a new rom I reflash a T version modem.

Hello
My friend had that as well on the stock rom. Found out it was the sim card.

[Q] Flash counter and replacing the phone

I think my phone has a problem so I'm planning to take it back to the place where i bought and get it replaced (as it's only been like a week)
However i rooted my phone, so i was planning to use triangle away to remove this, but it says i need to reflash with the stock firmware to be perfect, but the stock firmware for my region did not come out yet.
What should i do?
Please give me some help

Hey I'm Australian and own an S3.. I'm sick of Vodafone update strategy.. I want to root, what do you think?
Sent from my GT-I9300T using Tapatalk 2
Ye root it, i rooted it too, except i think i need a replacement cause my phone has a problem.
Rooting could do lots of stuff.
If you ain't that good with computers and you don't want to stress yourself finding stuffs and working on it, don't do it cause it can risk your phone and might not brick.
Otherwise it's great to root
I've had the GNex.. I just hope it's as easy. Vodafone seriously piss me off..
I think Im Gonna root it.. just regret I didn't do that the moment I got it.. cause I seriously can't be stuffed going through the whole set up process again..

Why root it has nothing to do with updates or stock roms .
jje
Would I be able to flash the latest original firmware without root?
Sent from my GT-I9300T using Tapatalk 2
lol
well actually looking at your statistics i think you know well
hahaha
SGS3 doesn't really need root, as it is already good enough
but can make it better with root i think
yes

flashing is just to do with odin...so
if you get the firmware file and use odin
no need of rooting
Ohhh okay cool.. do you know any links that can help me flash the unbranded ROM for the S3 and if I flash that Rom.. would I still be able to receive OTA updates?

you can download this and flash it with odin
I'm not sure about the OTA update, as it's generally released by Samsung or the carrier...so

You can also download latest Official Firmwares from http://samfirmware.com

Yes. But you'll be able to do so with root too...
Many people confuse the two, so just to clarify:
Rooting means having a tiny modification in the phone's operating system so it doesn't restrict you from superuser commands. This will not affect your installed data or ability to upgrade.
Custom Roms is replacing the stock rom with a new operating system package someone else built which may or may not largely differ from Samsung's own version.

I just want an official non branded ROM .so I can get the latest updates without carrier delays .
Sent from my GT-I9300T using Tapatalk 2
There are always delays, whether carrier-, region-, or whatever-related.
You can flash the newer Rom's through Odin tough (again: the flashcounter does not increase with original ROM's) to get it as soon as the file is released.
Unbranded S1's had to wait several months for Froyo update over here...
Where can I find the latest official firmware?
Also since I'm in Australia.. does it matter what region firmware I update to? Say.. can I update to an European based firmware?

About hellraising

I am new to this great phone , and I have been searching information of hellraiser . I went through the steps hellraising a Taiwan version rom yesterday . It works perfectly.
After that , I was confused about the principle of hellraising. Can someone tell me how the hellraiser work ? Fix the original s2's kernal or modem ? There are many kernals for the rom I'm using now . Can I flash them?

It doesn't fix anything except the key layout (which is different than the international version) it replaces the kernel and modem with a compatible one for our phone. So no you can not just flash any kernel, it has to be one for our phone in this section.

Hi,
I would advise before anyone downloads and flashes XXUGMK6 modem that they check here: http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/1/ what was their original modem. For instance in my country 2 out of 3 operators are using XXUGMK6 but my operator is using BUUGMK1 modem. It seems to be working better for me.
