just install ubuntu to ur w7's virtual pc and itll be better..

well isnt it possible to do that on windows? coz everything is just to make initlogo.lre I think gimp can open it. also i can open tar files via 7zip. so isnt it just simplier?
P.S. Im using rom based on GDX and i saw there it is initlogo.rle in ramdisk.tar file and i rly dont like that yellow droid. Can i just delete initlogo.rle and it will be gone?

u can create .rle file on windows but u CAN'T pack .tar files using any windows apps because it'll create different permission for the files inside, so ur android system will be unable to load it..
and u can't just open android's .rle file with gimp, once again it is different !!

is it possible to change the boot logo??
if my phone is with alfs kernel???

## (Extract package on pc, nothing else and script do everything itself)

- Reboot your phone
- xRecovery > Partition Tools > Mount /system
- Plug usb cable into phone and pc

- Run run.bat from package
Firstly it makes a backup from current bootanimation and after this change bootanimation to this one from package and reboot your phone
To restore oryginal animation run run_restore.bat

Work perfect.
New animations...
Thx man
Works Perfect!
My Fav.
When i upload the animations to the phone it gets low quality picture when boot
I saw this but it's not my fault, file with description of animation doesn't describes quality of animation and quality of every animation is high.
I don't know, maybe when system booting then doesn't have some driver for graphics and quality of animation is too high to view on screen
But I have one idea...
// edit - yes, its my fault
thanks you, work perfect.
Doesnt work i get error fault to copy read-only file system.
How i get this error when i have rooted phone???
- xRecovery > Partition Tools > Mount /system ? Do you click it? :>
i dont understand why we must go with this complicated way, because actualy on the market is app named "boot animation changer" you can also search boot animations on the market...i put super mario boot and is so cool...but i want this blue dancing android ))
Why we must go with complicated way? HYH
You must only reboot phone and run script... hyh
I tried it. It doesn't work (W7). But when i want to change my bootanimation i use root explorer.
can you tell me how to do it with root explorer??? procedure? tnx
I also used root explorer in changing my boot animations
can you please tell me how to change bootanimation with root explorer??? tnx

If you're on Windows: http://www.cygwin.com/ , cd to directory where the sources are, and run the make command.
On Linux, cd to the sources directory and run the make command.

Hm..
First I forked the FreeXperia directory, cloned it to my home directory. Then I cd it in my terminal by running this code:
cd /home/alexander/FreeXperia/android-cm7/device/se/x10/libgralloc
Then I write "make" and press enter. (I have installed make via Synaptic package manager)
Then I get this error message:
make: *** No targets specified and no makefile found. Stop.
..
Please help, what have I done wrong?

yes thats expected as there is no native make file..

it is simple..
i don't have linux. so i made ramdisk tool which allows me and to others to pack ramdisk as tar archive on windows.
custom boot image is replacement of mkbootimg, mkbootfs, tar, gzip, gunzip, cpio it is like gui tool to make boot.img which for now only x10 users can use to load new kernel.
looks really nice.
where can we get boot.img to mess with custom boot image toolkit?
Also, where can I get and use ramdisk to stock ROM? to use the Packager?
Tks
HI!
When I use SIN2IMG, in Vista, the extracted system folder is always with individual files shared. How can I disable that?
It is dificult to delete or move the created files becouse of the confirmation messages :-s
on first question: stock rom doesn't have ramdisk. it has bunch of init.* files on root which you can pack to ramdisk.tar and run same as on froyo, or gb. second part of question i don't get it. on second question that confirmation questions and your vista problems are intended for windows help forum... and sin2img just extracts img part from sin and yaffs2 extracts all as ro on windows..

ok if I understand your question you want to unlock bootloade
why you don't use new flash tool
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=986692
first you need to have root acces install super user and cwm.. but all that you can do with that flash tool
if your mobile it is posible to unlock, than you will have option "plugin" --> "unlock bootloader" --> "run"

Don't use images larger than 1080x2340.
Supported files: PNG, JPG, BMP, GIF (non-animated), HDR, PSD, TGA, PIC, PGM, PPM.
