Why didn't you just buy an Android phone? It's not like there is a lack of selection out there!

Donate a Radar to the guys @ the HTC HD2 forum n ask the devs to port some bootloader stuff (MAGLDR/CLK).. Should be possible but will take ages n will be tough, cuz there are no proprietary libs since ur phone came with WP7...
Cheers!

Here in the US we have something called CHOICE. He CHOSE to buy the phone with Windows Phone on it. He CHOSE to buy something other than what he wanted.
If you're so sold on your Velocity, go find a forum for it - stop trolling other forums to give them crap about a CHOICE they made!

Little troll don't belong out from under his bridge, EVER.
See, I can do that too.
Some moderator please remove that fake from this forum .
The Velocity is NOT a Radar
I like the smaller style , and coloring on the Radar as a pocket phone. I would also be interested in having one with Android on it, or finding the android replica, If there is one. I Looked up the Velocity after seeing that guys post saying it was the same phone, but what i found is not even close. I am still very interested in the Radar as something to play around with, look forward to watching this develop. If anything cool happens to the Radar it will happen here, You guys are the best at what you do! Thank you for making phones so much fun going all the way back to my poor crippled Wing.

Why are Lumia 710 and 610 user's writing in this forum?
ummm because there is no official 710 / 610 forum maybe
Worst thing is that they don't make clear what phone their topic is about. -.-

The 710 is the less expensive version of the 800. The moderators ask all 710 related posts to be in the 800 section.
Any other brilliant questions?

So 710 and 800 is identical phones? Same ROM, spec., functionality, e.g.

Not identical, but extremely similar underneath. Different camera, physical buttons on the 710 vs. capacitive, less expensive screen, etc. Internally very close.
Close is not good enough. That's why every phone should have it's own forum.

Make one then.
There is an unlimited number of devices with new ones being released every day, how could a forum keep up ?
710 being discussed in the 800 forum is fine, you know how to read, if you don't have a 710, don't click the link.
The topic doesn't tell me if it's about the 800, 710 or 610. That's a "problem"!

A lot of them are titled with the device model number, and it's not all that much of a problem to click 'back' if it is not for your device, after all it took many more clicks to get here in the first place
Anyway, there is a voting thread for people to vote for the next device to be given a forum, and from the last time I took a look, the 710 wasn't doing too badly, but it wasn't top of the list
Yes, us 710 owners would prefer our own forum too, but as the 2 devices are so similar, it works ok sharing for the time being.

You may need to take a day off for stress relief, my friend.
The moderators want 710 threads to be posted in the "800" section, because it's considered close enough to not require a separate forum.
If you have a problem with that, I suggest you poke a moderator with a stick, and see how that works out for you. Most of them are very friendly, but it depends on how pointy your stick is
Another alternative is purchasing a server, placing it on the web, and call it Lumia800onlybecausemrtabletsaysso.com. <-- I can't be sure if this is taken, but you could always add some random number to the end, in the event that it is. It could be a fun experience to learn web design, and if someone ever shows up, you can make a new friend.
A last form of resort could be to just relax a little bit. Take in the sunshine. See a movie. Read a book. There are other suggestions I could provide, but many would be considered crude, rude, or flat out get me banned. Pretty much anything aside from making troll threads would probably be a benefit.
Until then, pop a benzo, kick back, and watch the sun set. The forum will still be here tomorrow, and hopefully so will we, as well as our shiny devices.
/I wonder if in the Unix days random users (not sysops) got upset with each other because they asked a question about how to use a different punch card reader, and failed to state the model up front, even if it was basically identical to the one in the next room? Probably

Are you so incapable of reading that it brings you to your knees to tell the difference between a topic about an 800, 710, and 610?
You are a bunch of funny guys
Have a nice weekend!
go somewhere else then if you dont like it, there is so little movement on either of these phones that its really not an issue.

Good idea but i like the form of lumia and it hardware
Sent from tapatalk
That will never happen and a similar thread has already been posted. The Lumias have never been unlocked sim wise, much less running a different OS. You also have to make a custom version of Android that would support all the hardware differences in the Lumia. MS is not going to just lay down and let people remove their OS and put another one on the phones that the have endorsed.
It's all about encrypted bootloaders and security Microsoft spend millions of keeping their handsets secure.
We got the new april update for the Nokia X20 this week.

as if ANY update has been positive? I mean what was useful in Android in general- nokia killed off everything in favour of its "security features" so much so- their phones are no longer unusable. Story of M$, MK2

speaking of the "security features", I tried asking Nokia about unlocking my X10's bootloader via their customer service's email, they said that they can't because of "security and stability", lol. They literally used that excuse for, I don't know, 7-10 times (?) in the emails, until when I decided to just give up...
