I might purchase one of those. Seems like the Note would be the perfect size for it.

Ill probably getting one like that except you can roll it up pretty tight. At school it would be perfect lol.

I got it yesterday! Still didnt try It on my note obviously. All I did so far was cut the stand so it hold my note. I just had to widen it

So...how does it work with Android? I have the really nice but pricey, Moto BT 89507n with the nifty slide out trackpad, but it is kinda cumbersome. I like the portability of yours.

It works well. I downloaded keypro and set up the keyboard. If you need help setting one up let me know. On mine i have the stand. The only problem was the tabs on the sides. I cut them off. Then the phone wouldnt stan up in portrate mode. But i just put it into landscape and it works fine. I absolutely love the fact that the note came with an office program. My teacher lets me make powerpoints in class on my phone now.
Another thing i would recommend is a mouse. You can use bluetooth ones, or usb ones. I use my logitech trackball m570 with a micro usb to usb adapter i got on ebay. Very nice.

Click the scan button. Now...
Tap the menu capacitive button, click discovery and click this...
Now click save.
Now go to google and hold your finger on the text box. Then select input method.
And then hit keypro
It will autoconnect. Now type on your keyboard and it will work!

[Q] Nib for the pen?

Today the nib fell out of my pen and I haven't been able to find it - let alone figure out how it fell out in the first place. I didn't get any replacement nibs in the pack that came with my Flyer: does this mean that I am going to have to get an entirely new pen, or can someone point me to where I can get new nibs? A search on ebay didn't turn up anything.

I'd get a hold of customer support. I think they used to come with extras, but stopped.
Also a different alternative:

If it's the wifi version from best buy, i can swear they say on the plastic you can get a replacement one from them.
you might also jump on Ebay and contact this seller that seems to be a 3rd party supplier of HTC pens.

Thanks for the replies, everyone. Being outside the US, seems like I might have to go for the full replacement of the pen. I'll let you know how it works out.
I would contact customer support. The nibs ARE replaceable!
You can buy them, saw it somewhere but not sure where
Anyone get a replacement nib tip for the Scribe pen? I just contacted HTC USA at 866-449-8358 and unbelievably they have no clue on where to get replacements. Spoke to several service reps in various departments yet no one knows. They also transferred me to their accessories dept and they don't even carry the pen.
Can anyone here give me a lead on how to get a hold of one? Thanks!
Surely you have gotten hold of someone that hasn't a clue. They are using the same stylus with the Jetstream tablet and upcoming phones.

I spoke to 3 reps and 2 in the tech department (1 specifically for the tablets), ultimately they will direct you to a company called 'Let's Talk' who states that HTC sends them requests for parts that they never have. Called 3 Sprint stores and spoke with GM's who refer you to contacting HTC directly.
'DigitalMD' it seems like something trivial but do you have a source for ordering the replacement nib?
Thanks.
No I don't , I never tried to obtain one, but I am shocked Sprint and AT&T are currently selling Flyers and Pens
Wish Me Luck!
OK, so I have absolutely NO idea where my stylus tip went. One minute it was there, then gone. I've searched everywhere but it won't turn up until I'm no longer looking for it. So I was looking online. I didn't call support since it sounds like they really aren't much help on these kind of things but I did find tip replacements for a similar pen used by a Motion Computing tablet.
They come in five packs for $15 plus $4.95 shipping. I'll let you know if they pan out. http://www.provantage.com/motion-computing-509-500-02~7MOCUE8C.htm

I know. But I have the two button stylus (well actually two of them) so I figure this is probably going to happen again sometime so I might as well have a backup. Of course that assumes this set works.

The minimum supported API version equates to Android 2.2. It might work, but it probably won't be optimal due to resource requirements for the tablet sized images.

No... charging bubbles are just fine and shown properly. The white block is only for whale. Rotation is also working without any issues.
Installed on my ATrix4g. But when I go to look at it or apply it as wallpaper, it force closes. same thing happened on other APK or widgets I pulled from prime rom dump.

Also, just figured out that clicking on the settings button force closes this wallpaper (at least in my case). No big deal, since it could be just the option of "Enable/Disable Water Rotation", which is anyway Enable by default. Just keeping you posted.
It does work on my TF but the water does not react as fluid to movement as with the other Water Live wallpaper that you made.

I really didn't "make" the wallpaper. I simply pulled it from a system dump, deodexed it, signed it, zip aligned it, and shared it here. I do plan on tinkering with it a bit when I have some free time.
Yes, I tried both settings. But the water does not moves smooth.
But you did 'made' the Rubber Duckie Live wallpaper?! That and
No-Go on the Sensation. Everything loads and looks great for a good 3 seconds and then FC.
But thanks. No biggie. Just going to wait for the Prime to actually sell so I can buy one. LOL
Hi @jshmier
Looking forward to a tweaked version of this wallpaper, to get rid of the white block for the whale on some devices, if at all you find time for the same.

I want to know if the GS3 att will be like the HTC One X. No quad core in place of LTE.

Actually, I'd be ok with having a bigger screen, but only if the extra screen real estate will replace the bezel around the phone.

This.
I would love to have a nearly bezel-less phone. I measured with a ruler on my S2, and if the screen is edge to edge like some of the concept pictures, a 4.8 in display will fit on it without increasing the phone's footprint at all. This is what I'm hoping and praying for...
It may just be the announcement for the Galaxy Tab 19. We all need a 19 inch tablet.
Impressive, indeed. Though when I'm available for an upgrade, we'll all be waiting for the GS4 to be announced. Oh well, I just got my GS2 a few months ago and wouldn't want to give it up yet. Besides, the screen size on the GS2 is as big as I'll ever go.

I completely agree. My Captivate was the perfect screen size and I've made due with 4.3 but anything larger is just getting too large. That is quite a chore, you have to plug it in and set it down. And if that wasn't enough you have to unplug it in the morning. Just terrible.
I am tempted to mod my phone to use a TouchStone, it is really convenient on my TouchPad. I heard the GS III might have inductive charging built in.
I just hope TW 5 or what ever they use is not only themed a lot more like stock ICS, but also portable to the S II.
I am also hoping for a bigger screen with a smaller bezel. Like the ONE X, but with thought out buttons.

Will you embrace the NFC abilities?

I'm planning on buying some pre formatted tags for around the house, car & at work.
Hell I might keep a tag in one of my light jackets.
I'll be using this a hell of a lot more than the 3D on my current EVO.
More on Android+NFC (how it works):

Where to get NFC Tags for your EVO LTE:

Looks fun. Probably useful for the car/nightstand/stroller. Will have to think about how to work it.
I'm waiting to see more of what people come up with.
This is my first android/smartphone so I'll have plenty to play with for a while.
Just looking at "Tasker" seems like I can do everything based on triggers and events. If those end up being cumbersome, NFC tags it is!
I will embrace! With open arms

I'm gonna make tags and put them everywhere for no reason. Its gonna be fun. Maybe someone can make a scavenger hunt type game out of them. Each tag you scan gives you GPS coordinates or gives you a link to a picture and you have to find out where it was taken....the possiblities are endless.

I wouldn't fret, you (not the drive thru people, never give them the phone ) hold it over the reader (Most stores have them, al least in my exp (Phily/NYC) & the app will auto open for your prompts.
Mastercard, Visa & all of the others are supported.
I already have some tags in my hand right now (just got them in the mail). Once I get my LTE, I will program a few for uses. So far I have:
Car:
Turn WiFi on/off
Turn Bluetooth on/off
Open/close music app
Keychain that I should be getting:
Either personal info so I can just send it to another phone or open my fire dept app... Haven't decided yet.
Workout:
Turn media volume up/down
Open/close music app
Play a playlist (if I can)
Bike:
Turn alert volume down/up
Turn media volume up/down
Launch/kill Move
I have a few more ideas but I wont bore you with them.
Android Police has an article that shows you how to program a chip and some of the tasks you can do. I got my tags from TagsForDroid.com.
I'll be interested to see if the NFC radio uses any significant power,
and if it can be turned off.
If I'd have to turn it on every time I wanted to use it, that'd completely defeat the purpose.
Also, Google Wallet won't work on a rooted phone :-(
Right now the only card choices are *certain* Citi Mastercards, or a pre-loaded debit card. Google was doing a deal where for trying it out, they'd give you a $50 wallet credit - I'm not sure if they're still offering that, but if so it seems worth giving it a try.

Multi-window: LG as good as Samsung?

All,
I'm very close to upgrading from my rooted Verizon Note 3 to an LG V10. I'm not looking forward to losing root, and the free WiFi tethering that comes with it, but other than that, the V10 looks like a solid choice.
One thing I use a lot on my Note 3 is the ability to re-size a window. It's great when I'm driving, because I used desktop widgets to control my audio, so I shrink the navigation window, and have access to audio and navigation from one screen.
Is this possible on the V10? I've watched all of the demo and review videos on the phone, but nobody covers the multi-window functionality that I've seen.
Thanks.
Yes

Thanks for that. I had heard that there was a way to shrink a window for easier one handed use, but it blacks out everything being it. Here's a shot of how I usually drive around with my Note 3. The navigation window is small, and the home screen widgets are accessible to pause or skip tracks in both my music app and my podcast app.
Is there a way to shrink a window on the V10 and see the home screen, or other apps at the same time?
Thanks.
That's actually a bit better, but at least on The V10 is possible and you can still drag it to wherever you like. Only thing missing is any back ground. Might be better for battery life though.
really like my v10 coming from galaxy family with the last one being note4...
I only miss the little pen
It looks like there are some third party apps that enable resizing windows, and at least one of them doesn't require root. I'll probably just give that a try. Thanks guys.

You could keep the nav screen size as-is and use the 2nd screen to control media? The media controls on the 2nd screen are extremely simplistic but that might be all you need?
That sounds like a great idea.
Do the second screen media buttons work with third party media apps?

I'm running PlayerPro as my music app and I know it works with that. Can't say for certain with other 3rd party apps.

Works with PowerAmp
You can still use free wifi tethering with the FoxFi app. Costs a few dollars, but it works great.
tcrimsonk, I'm also coming from a rooted Note 3. And am also on the fence. Thanks for posting as you asked questions I had. Funny the little things you miss when you don't have root. Or other way around, the little things that Verizon "turns off" so they can sell you that function as a service. Like Call Block. And I like to not have any camera sound (or remember to turn the volume down).
I'm still not totally convinced to switch. The Note 3 is still working pretty good. But the V10 looks like a sweet upgrade. Was also considering the Nexus 6P.

I still haven't made the leap. I'm even looking for a way to pay cash for an unlocked V10, but it doesn't sound like any of them would work with Verizon's LTE. I don't trust T-Mobile's service in my area, and Sprint's 4G service was abysmal here for years, so there's no way I'm going back to them. The Nexus 6P on Google Fi seemed like a good option too, but I'm not ready to give up Verizon's network.
It's a shame really. I'm willing to pay Verizon's higher prices to use their better network. But why do they have to rub salt in the wound by locking down the devices, and packing them with bloatware?
