Phone wouldn't boot - Optimus One, P500, V General

Hey gf was playing game (defender) and the battery died so after pulling the battery I got the cell to startup but it would show the bootloader or anything so after just letting it charge at the chargeing screen retryed starting up and left it for a couple hours still nothing and then I left it for a bit and decided to try it again and I got a backlight so I let it go for a couple more mins then normal it it went straight to the lockscreen with no bootloader I think something happened to the delvik chache since that usely makes it take longer to boot and nothing was changed so I don't think anyother chache or factory default was deleted the cell has pesopefect ROM any advice on what might of happened and how to prevent it from happening again

Try reflashing the rom again wiping cache and dalvik cache

Will give that a try I also noticed the other day when I was useing her cell that it no longer locks and the home button dousent work except to turn the screen on I suspect this will be fixed once I flash the Rom but for future problem is their a quick fix for this?

[Q] Anyone else experiencing Reboot with factory reset with 2.2?

I have a strange problem i am trying to track down, this ONLY started with 2.2 The hard part is that this doesnt happen everytime, sometimes when i reboot the streak it will either get stuck at the first dell screen and not boot further, or it will factory reset itself. Sometimes it will reboot on its own and do a factory reset. At first i thought it was the rom as i was using dj steve's, but then i loaded dell's 2.2 and am experiencing the same problem.
Before and after each install i have done the factory dell reset, and have also done the wipe data/wipe cache/wipe dalvik from clockwork, and i still yeild the same results.
Does anyone have any ideas on what the possible cause of this could be? I have seen talks of reboots, but no talks of chronic factory resets.
Check if it happens when you bump the phone flat against a table. If so it is the battery losing contact. I had the same problem (but without the factory reset) - fixed it by sticking a piece of paper under the battery. Hope this helps.

unfortunately its not a battery issue. Most of the time, i initiate the reboot and when it boots back up it does a factory reset. I have only had it reboot itself twice with factory reset.
I'd be seeking a replacement asap
I had issues with my DS on the weekend after having it for only 1 day, but realised that SetCPU was giving it grief. After a full reset and without using SetCPU, no probs, up time is now 73hrs and counting

Thats kinda what i was thinking, except this didnt happen until i started messing with 2.2. However i do realize this could be completely coincidental. I am planning on putting this back to factory 1.6 tonight and running that for a few days to see if i still have the same issue. Was mainly looking to see if anyone else had the same problem, otherwise i would say it seems to be an isolated incident!
Actually, I have noticed another issue with my DS. Sometimes when I turn off and turn back on, the button lights turn on, but no Dell logo. Just sits there until I pull the battery..
Doesnt happen all the time, but it is very strange.

I had a similar issue related to this. Basically it would boot to the dell logo, but wouldnt boot to the dell animation. I could let it sit there for 10 minutes and hold down the camera button and still get to fastboot, or volume keys and get to recovery.. Im pretty sure my phone is F'd so im gonna send it back.

[Q] phone goes black with panel lit

Phone is randomly freezing, screen goes off and panel stays lit.
Pulling battery is only way to reset, wasn't doing anything special to cause a freeze.
It's almost like it falls asleep, but can't wake it up without pulling battery.
Few times I went to turn of screen, froze on me before I touched the power button. Other times were random, switching screens, backing out of an app.
Since there is no full root, I only have stock apps. It doesn't reboot, just goes dark and panel stays lit.
Is a reset needed ?
I read the other threads, but phone doesn't reboot. Phone is not on a specific app when freezing, and not getting error of any kind when it freezes, just dark screen and panel light on.
Any ideas ?
Thanks

I would try a factory reset and if that doesn't work then I would take it to sprint and swap it out.

This ^ had a similar problem with my OG only got worse
If you don't have an Evo3d well you don't have an Evo3d
Did a factory reset, first time through bootloader. Went through the process but didn't reboot. Had to manual boot through power button.
Started up fine, but since it didn't reboot on its own after factory reset, I chose to do it through settings. Cleared storage card also( nothing special on there) , figured it might help. Process went fine, just no reboot.
Decided to go with it, did the manual boot through power button again.
So far its not freezing, will wait anotherday or so.
Q. If phone is charging while doing a factory reset, will it prevent the reboot, even if battery has enough juice for factory reset.
Q. Will doing a factory reset wipe the cache, or does it need to be cleared in recovery before a factory reset.
Figured id ask if it happens again,
Thanks

My phone started doing this yesterday. I took it into Sprint and ask them not to pull the battery and give it straight to the tech or a manager. Of course be walks away to a sales person and he pulls the battery out then calls me over and asks if i want a tech to look at it. I said no cause the phone obviously worked now. About an hour later my screen became unresponsive. I took it back and told them not to **** with it just give it to the tech. The salesman verified that the screen was dead and told me to come back in 2 hours.
When i came back they told me that they couldn't find anything wrong with my phone. I'm on my 3rd phone now and they said that they will give me one more phone and that's it. I'm scared to get another one cause they have all been so messed up. I've only had this one for 2 days now so I'm going to hang on to it and see if it keeps screwing up. It already looks like I'm starting to have green picture problems to though.

same here havent got an answer, not sure if its a software issue or phone hardware issue , screen goes blank with the screen keys still light up,
did a factory reset its been good for now hopefully stays that way but what does anyone recommend if it happens again, take it back and get a new one?
Same problem here i have been to Sprint 3 times for this issue and every time they just say they will look at it and then do a reset and reflash and send me on my way... Never fixes the problem and they say the wont swap my phone till they can replicate the problem them selves... Pisses me off.
I just had it do it to me twice in last hour
Going to call Sprint

Software issue, keep your panties on and wait for root or an OTA.
My ''xDU4L C0R3 SH00T3Rx'' shot you down in 3D!
Hi.
My original would freeze and i had to take the battery out. and the resets did not work and it got bad worse i had to take the battery out 5-6 a day. the second one my gps, wifi would not work properly even after resets. my third one would not freeze but my phone display would go off then in 5 sec or so the display would be lit but it was black and my search key would be lit. I did 2 factory resets ad a hard reset and it did not fix the problem. I know the repair stores say they need to replicate the problem to exchange and will do a reset and send you on your way. What i did was that i took pics and video of the problem. and showed the rep at the store. first he had said i had to wait 2 hour for a tech to check it then i showed him the vid and he just went ahead and changed it. So maybe if you have a camera available do this at least you might have a stronger argument.
Had same problem. I my recommendation is either take a video of the problem, or what I did was as soon as this problem happens again just bring it to the store frozen, as soon as it froze I just went to the store.

i am having problems with the screen timeout setting itself to 15 and 30 seconds. also had a couple freezes where i had to do a battery pull. lets all just calm down and wait for full root and we will be able to fix all these software issues ourselves.
Just relax and wait for root. Or call a waaambulance

Droid Razr shuts off on its own

So my wife's razr shut off on its own not even a week after her getting it. So I played around with different chargers till a little white light came on left till morning and nothing. Took it to vzw and they charged it for a few and turned it back on told her to use the cord that came with the razr. The whole time battery was a little more than half full. So today the razr decided to go blank or shut off if you will because it doesn't respond to button presses. Battery was a little less then 3/4 full and laying in bed. No apps installed today since this weekend. Wanted to know if anybody else is having this problem and how it was solved also factory state phone

Soundsike you've got a duff one. Send it back for a replacement
I've never had those problems... If I were you, I would go into recovery, wipe everything, then fastboot the .173. (The data wipe isnt necessary before fastbooting but I would still do it anyway) Before doing that however, I would also take a look at running applications on boot and try to eliminate possibilities. Since you replaced the razr already I would assume the problem had to do with some data somewhere. It could also be worth it to not restore any data from previous backups (Verizon adds things on to backup data and such. When you get ur phone you enter a pin to restore this backup) If you're using a data backup from another phone that could be causing it too. I would also download a battery logging application to make sure somethings not causing terrible battery drains. The best thing I thing would be restoring to an absolutely clean backup with no data and trying that out for a while. Obviously you could have another bad Razr, but I'm more inclined to believe that its a problem with data.

mine the day you received restarted every 5 minutes. take him to warranty, stayed 48 hours. they could not fix and I got a new
do "factory reset" and don't install any apps. if it happens again, you need to exchange the phone
Mine has the same problem. I just saw the last times when it happens.
The phone sends a sound of empty battery, and if you are quick enough, you may hit power button and the lock screen gonna show your batter complete empty, only the red border.
This happened to me:
- Just some minutes after I charged my phone;
- After a factory reset;
- After a fast boot room;
Have no idea when it happens or why. It just happens.
I will send my to warranty as soon as possible.
As far as I know, it is not related with any app or config you do, cause even factory default with no app installed I have got this error :/

I'm an MDM administrator for my company. We have had 4 razrs die with this issue and possibly a 5th today. It's a PITA but I just get them swapped out.

Random brick after night

So, yesterday afternoon i plugged in my phone to charge (about 11 PM) and left it for the whole night. I also have to add that Ive been running a mobile AP on it for the whole time. Today morning, I wake up and its crazy hot. I quickly DC it from charging, remove the back cover and let it be for a sec. I unlock it, it runs for few seconds normally and BAM, background behind icons is black and it froze up. I remove the battery to perform a hard reset of sorts and then the worst thing happens... Phone is stuck on boot Samsung logo. I turn it off again, hoping for a quick fix but it accomplishes NOTHING. I plug it into the charger and battery icon is visible but the circle on it is stuck and nothing seems to be happening.
Now I go into recovery mode that's working - surprise! And delete cache and dalvik cache. Nothing. I go back delete those things again and battery stats too this time. Nothing. I go back and do a factory reset... Nothing. Yeah.
So, imo since recovery is working it can't be a burned CPU/RAM right? Most likely (or hopefully) it's just the software that died? Im in the process of downloading a ROM and I will put it on my ext. SD card along with super-wipe that I will run but I was wondering - are there any good ROMs (or something else that might save my ass) that can be installed using Odin?
Yeah, it seems it was the case. Just installed ROM from my ext. SD and it's booted up which is very nice. Seems that it overheated and somehow killed my everything. Which is weird and anyone cares to help me explain this?

Phone keeps shutting down

Hi,
My phone keeps shutting down when I browse the web (facebook expecially) ,sometimes happens in Candy Crash.. it just freeze and after 5 seconds it shut off. And when i turn the phone on , w/e level of charge i had before (like 80%) it says low battery like 15% BUT if I let the phone off for a while and then turn it on , it restore like before...
When i'm playing with the phone when it is in charge, this doesn't happen at all ...
It's the battery that is gone wild , i don't know, maybe when in stress it become faulty ...
I have Stock android (4.1) , but the phone is unlocked (it's not my phone though , is from my sis , bought from a friend)
Sounds like a bad battery mate. Have you wiped cache and dalv cache if rooted if not just wipe cache in stock recovery and reboot.

Ok , i'll try with that.
Yeah def sounds like battery. The minute it tries something remotely intensive it clearly doesn't like it.. Try replacing battery, maybe a friend has a spare? Or even as a test try a friends battery with those few apps running and compare?
