Help please.
Running cm7.2 drownings 8.9.2a kernel & reverted gps and see others have had trouble with sending/receiving mms. I've tried the fix of deleting the telephony files using root browser (/data/data/cm.android.providers.telephony/telephony), but can't find any other fixes. Does anyone have any other fix for this? Pleeeeease?
Was this ever fixed? Was it an isolated problem?
cm7 unable to send/receive mms
Well I still don't have a fix myself, so if you hear of anything other than what I've already tried, I'd love to hear!
Have you tried flashing the new CM7.2 RC1?
No I haven't. Hate to be a whimp about it, but I'd rather wait for a stable release. I like my phone to work

Ever since upgrading to 2.2 I have lost the ability to connect to my schools WPA2-Enterprise network. I've searched and found that this was an issue introduced in 2.2 (I could connect fine on 2.1) and has been fixed in 2.3. I've tried all the solutions I've found online and zero have worked. These include using apps from the market such as Wifi Advanced Configuring and replacing the wpa_supplicant file in /system/bin/ with the version from 2.1
The werid thing is, after completely wiping and flashing a new rom, it will connect fine the first time but not after that so im thinking it has something to do with certificate/credential storage?
The network I'm trying to connect to is WPA2-Enterprise, authenticated via PEAP and MSCHAPV2
Can anyone point me in the right direction? What system files might affect this? Can I try replacing them from a 2.3 build?
Any ideas/input would be appreciated
Ummm.....I connect the same exact way with the same exact settings at my job and I haven't experinced any issues while running 2.2. Which rom are you using?

Its happend on all of the 2.2 roms I've tried, (AOSP, MIUI, CM6, TW).
I've had the same issue. The odd thing is that some days I actually get it to link up on the first try to the same router, but other days I do all the various steps that you can find while googling for answers and never get to successfully connect.
Almost makes going back to 2.1 seem worthwhile...
Flashed a new rom today and connected to the network fine first try like usual. Cycled wifi and it wont connect again.
Anyone know where it stores wifi credentials? I'm thinking if I can clear them each time I want to connect it should work...
I'm in the same boat...although, my thread is on the second page with no replies. I am also unable to connect to enterprise wifi on campus...drives me nuts. I've spent countless hours trying to figure this out. I had no problems with enterprise wifi on 2.1...I wonder which file I could flash from 2.1 to make it work, I'm sure someone knows.

Are you saying my school restricts Android 2.2 users from using thier wifi while allowing 2.1 users to use it? I'm not sure what you mean...
Im saying maybe they needed more bandwidth so they put a block/allow list on their wifi. Nothing to do with your froyo. Or android. Could be they are ALLOWING ONLY KNOWN IP ADDRESSES now..(Since you dont know what an allow list is) Happened to me at work. And i dont have 3g at work so it sucks.
Only other explanation is that you screwed up during flashing. I was giving you the benefit of the doubt. I mean.......my wifi works just fine and ive flashed every rom in the dev section...currently on ec01 and wifi wpa2/enterprise is flawlessly working.

I'm fairly certain its not either of these issues, considering after I flash a rom I can connect to my schools network fine the first time. Its the subsequent connections that are giving me issues.
Here's a link to the issue on googles open source android project.
http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=1386
It basically says that it was an issue not present in 2.1, introduced in 2.2 and fixed in 2.3. I'm wondering if anyone knows what system files might affect this (wifi driver, certificates, deeper kernel issues?) and if anyone can point me in the right direction so I can start trying to pull files from other builds and see if it fixes my issues. I'm a complete noob but willing to give it a shot.
Can anyone let me know if ED01 or the official froyo rom has a fix for this wifi problem..??

As I'm sure you know by now, none of the froyo updates fix the wifi problem. However, I can report flashing JT's CM7 build did fix the issue and it truly is an awesome rom if you can stand a few features missing.
As of now, there seems to be no fix for froyo builds

That is nothing short of a disappointment...until there is a fix, I'll just have to keep a close eye on my data usage.
I am having same sorts of problems on all wifi since upgrade to 2.2 froyo pushed out to me by VZ when I changed out a "bad" handset. VZ no help, referred me to Samsung; they have acknowledge problem but have no fix, or eta....

The MMS issue is a known one. I sent the dev some logcats and I'm sure he'll get to it soon. He's juggling a few things right now.
As far as the SD mount goes, you can flash the USB fix, after you use the iternet passthrough workaround it should mount normally after that, atleast it did for me. You can also try the dream kernel, which always mounts perfectly for me.

Hope that helps
ever since gingerbread I haven't been able to send out MMS messages; however, I recieve them just fine.
Im unlocked, rooted, alien v4 with fauxs 1.3 kernel.
Im using stock apn settings, and I've even gone into message center(*#*#4636#*#*) to try fixing it but it doesn't do anything.
I've had this problem since I upgraded to gingerbread when I was still stock.
I use GoSMS, but the stock sms has this problem as well.
Anyone have any ideas as to what I can do to fix this? I've done full wipes at least 10 times since gb.
Update:
Found out the source of the problem.
It was the GoSMS app I use which I've used since I installed gingerbread.
The problem was I had preserve image resolution checked on, and had the max size set to 1.2mb for any MMS. So I assume my MMS was timing out because it was trying to send 1.2mb.
I changed the max size to 300kb, and now everything is sending.
Never thought that would've been the source of the issue. I guess poking around helped a lot.

have you tried installing the froyo fruit cake from samcripp? if it's a gingerbread problem, that might fix it.
How would that help at all after I've already flashed multiple times?

you stated the problem started with gingerbread, if it's a problem with gingerbread the froyo framework might fix it.
other than that, you could try to flash a different radio. which one are you using right now?
Im currently using 1.77.30p.
And I did that fruitcake when I did my unlock a few months back.

Whats good about that radio?
also, that link is gone.
Also, i noticed that my bar turns from Blue to White in the middle of sending an mms
Have you tried sending mms without the faux kernal installed on the phone?
Just thinking of ideas here.

Hey guys. I looked all over and can't find anyone with this specific problem, so if this is a duplicate post I'm terribly sorry.
I'm running CM7 official, Glitch 13.1 with EH03 radio (not sure if that's important or not)
Problem is, my phone can't send or receive mms (sms works fine), and since receiving an MMS message, the Messaging app has been absolutely consuming my battery (screenshot attached) even after multiple resets.
I originally thought it might be a radio issue, since I was having trouble switching between 3G and WiFi, but since switching to the Glitch kernel, everything's been fine connection-wise, which is why I believe it's something else entirely.
Has anyone experienced similar problems?
MMS seems to be a sore spot with custom roms. Do you need MMS, or can you live without it? Also, can you just kill/freeze Messaging and use a third-party app?
Yeah, freezing the app solves the CPU problem.
If I freeze mms.apk and use handcent, it's generally more reliable. Why is this, though? What're these 3rd-party apps doing differently than the standard?

I'm not a dev, so I really don't know.
Dear Genius Developer Community,
First let me say thanks for the MOUNTAINS of information I have mooched from your collective brains over the last 5 or so years. From the time Android first launched you guys have made my whole experience more enjoyable.
I am using a Motorola Droid RAZR MAXX (XT912) on Verizon running Cyanogenmod 10.1.2 and the built in messaging application with Safestrap 3.11. Great phone made even better by a great ROM. The only issue I have had so far is a strange intermittent MMS problem: sometimes I just don't receive the message. Texting is fine and all other data access is perfect. Sometimes they come through, and sometimes they don't. When they don't, if I reboot the phone I can receive them again (at least for a time) but the ones that were sent during the down time never come through. Below are the things that I have tried and the effects they have had (if any). Any light you guys can shed here is greatly appreciated.
Wi-Fi
I read somewhere that MMS wouldn't send without a mobile data connection so I have tried completely disabling Wi-Fi - no effect.
Access Points
Everything I have found points to the Access Points being wrong and so I have messed with them for days going so far as to delete telephony.db and COMPLETELY removing all of the default access points replacing them with the EXACT APNs from the stock ROM - no effect.
Rebooting
Whenever I reboot my phone I can receive again. As previously stated, nothing sent before ever comes in but I can now receive new...for a time. Eventually I will get a text from someone "did you get that pic?" - temporary fix.
As an additional note, on the stock ROM I have never had an MMS issue of any kind so I know it's not a service or phone issue.
I to have been having issues with my MMS. But I run the newest nightly of avatar ROM. It is based off of Cyanogenmod from what I understand. Any who I'm having issues with my MMS not allowing me to send pics. This is only on this ROM. I had carbon and it seemed like it worked fine. Any way does anyone have a fix for this or is it a known issue with the Cyanogenmod at this point. And sorry, hope you don't feel I jacked your thread. We just both have a similar issue.
If you are running adblock plus turn it off. This fixed my issue
My MMS usually doesn't work on most custom ROMs, I switched to the handcent app and MMS always works.
