I'm in the USA on AT&T. Where should I pre-order from? I had a pre-order in with Negri Online - but they raised their price to $795 today -- I was okay with $660 (with a coupon) but an increase of over $100 -- when nobody else is close to that price is insane.
Suggestions?
I've looked at Clove, MobileCityOnline, and HandTec. Am I missing anyone? Anyone worth a few extra bucks?
im in the same boat as you. These prices are insane. If I cant get one for 650 or less I might just wait for att and get on contract.
I doubt you'll find it for less than $725...
You can get the i9000 on Amazon, so I don't see why you won't be score to get the SGS2 there at some point also.

Its a kick ass phone and I will have one eventually but besides hardcore SG2 fans theres no way that many are gonna sell at that price.
I could be wrong but its nuts.
Lets just say I sold my atrix for 400 I would still have to shell out over 300. wowee
I think its worth the price but its just too steep for me right now
Or you could wait until AT&T or T-Mobile launch it there.
Luckily I am in India during the Launch here and will pick it up here and hopefully not a stripped down version from there.
i'll like to pre-order for the Tmobile USA version

I have a galaxy s i9000 and I have unlimited data and tethering for $10 a month on AT&T.
I got my 8gb i9000 on ebay for $550 brand new. This was back in August of 2010. I'm sure you can find a GSII for $600 on ebay once they are released.
piggy backing on the USA thread, hope the OP does not mind
AT&T still has to release Samsung Infuse, there is no date even for that. They usually announce release dates 2 weeks in advance - is this correct? So Infuse is hitting the market closer to end of April or even later.
Then they would release SGS2 within 2 months or at the latest mid July, a year anniversary of SGS1? What sense does it make for AT&T to have two confusingly similar (to J6p) phones released so close to each other? Why would they infuse stock with the Infuse and make it difficult to captivate shelf space for the Captivate 2 a month or two later?
I am writing all this because I am suspecting Infuse would become SGS2, OR SGS2 will be pushed back to end of summer. Possible?

I've been thinking along similar lines. I really dont know what purpose the Infuse would serve for them if they also have the SGS2.
I've been wondering if the Infuse 4G is actually AT&T's version of the Galaxy S II. Why else would they be so coy about not letting anyone touch it or interact with it at CES...then keep it behind glass under lock and key at CTIA.
Having said that -- I don't want AT&T's gimped version of the GSII, unless the price is REALLY right!
</ConspiracyTheory>
If it is at&t's version of the sgs2 it needs to come with some upgrades to what it's listed as now (processor, gingerbread). I don't really care about NFC though.

It very well could be although I doubt they will deviate away from the 4.3 in Screen.
http://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_i997_infuse_4g-3705.php
the Infuse is a single core A8 1.2 Ghz processor while we know that the SGS II will have a dual core. That is what the BIG-BANG from Samsung was all about... The screen and the processor.
The infuse to me seems just a likely indication that it will be a while before you see SGSII released on AT&T. Same situation with Verizon and the Droid Charge due out any day now. Even if they do not localize versions of the SGSII like they did with SGS (And God I hope they don't, those alterations largely were just annoying), release across carriers won't be simultaneous.
So does that mean we can guess what order they will hit based on recent releases or lack thereof? If using that logic, Sprint-->T-mobile--> Verizon/AT&T
Sad for me as I'm on Verizon and want to get a 4G phone before unlimited dies...it's not looking likely I'll be able to wait for SGSII

I have free tethering and have never dropped a call.
I meant that carrier-branded, delayed-update, feature-deprived, bloat-filled devices are not something I'd endorse.

is t-mobile getting the sgs2?
i didn't think SGS2 had AWS support, doesn't tmobile run on 1700/2100 3g?
I'm here from the inc forums. Semi-beginning developer. My inc died about a month ago, and I'm dying for this badboy. Can't wait to see how everything goes with this thing.
Will pick it up the first day available.
right here! although my store might get it the 15th so i may have to wait a day.
I absolutely cannot wait. I am finally switching to Verizon from us cellular. I bought a desire on us cellular thinking it would get development like the Inc or the GSM desire and it has pretty much received no attention from devs and still hasn't had kernel source for froyo released by htc. I am excited to get a phone that will be supported with updates from both devs here and htc that will keep this phone fun for more than 5 months.
Ill be there at 9am, morning of the 14th!
Ditching this bionic as soon as I get my hands on the Rezound.
I love this awesome array of people and developers coming here. Plus it feels a lot like home with the amount of Incredible users coming here. This is awesome I have to wait a month to actually get it though
My upgrade isn't until January so I'll have to wait... hopefully its fully rooted by then! Get to work devs!

I am getting it Monday! As much as it pains me to go into that side of town during Holiday shopping madness. This is such a better deal than the Razr and the Nexus being that is comes with the headphones and such a badass screen! I wish it had HDMI though.
I'll be getting it at the end of December, when my upgrade becomes available.

It does have HDMI. You have to buy an adapter to fit the micro usb port, but it has HDMI capability.

Heh me too, just returned my skyrocket tonight. Not a bad phone but the screen res at 4.5" wasn't that good and it just feel cheap and plasticy. The new Vivid is nice but the specs on the rezound are awesome, I won't have to miss my iphone retina display.
I will be! Was wondering, can we pre-order it online and get that "online only" discount

Nope, I called yesterday for some account/bill questions they said it will be released Monday and then you can order it online or over the phone, but "free" shipping is 2 days, and overnight is $13. In other words, go to the store get it day 1, and save the $$. Unless you live 100 miles from a store and/or drive a gas guzzler like me.
Does anyone know if there is any way possible to beg them for an early upgrade? I'm due in January but I'm having a hard time waiting.

Might get my wife one now , here contract is up in July.

ICS in June? I'll believe it when I see it. I like my Note but it pisses me off when I purchase a cutting edge phone in February, and here we are in June and still no update, while others are receiving their updates.
I give Apple credit there for being better at updates. Much better. No wonder the values of Android devices do not hold up. 3 months old, already outdated, and available for a lot less than what I paid for it.
Ok..I have vented. Again, I like the Note I have, but the thought of going back to Apple is starting to appeal to me again. I pulled out my old iPhone 4 and fired it up, and started the Etrade App I use every day, and on the iPhone it had a voice command feature which is not on the android app. Whats with that anyway? I thought my Note was ahead of my old IP4, and it appears the app developers still cater to Apple.

Yes if Google made one big mistake, it was not learning from Apple's success. Apple owns its phones and demands control over patches and updates. We are being stymied by ATT not by Samsung. Because of the ATT experience on the Android devices we end up waiting forever for an update. My next phone will be a Google phone rather than a branded phone from ATT, so that I can get around this silly delay. Although it will have to compare well with the Note before they can pry this phone away from me.
I wish the phones in the US were more like the European phone as far as distribution goes, the phones there don't tend to have cell provider branding from what I understand and tend to work across more networks. I wouldn't mind paying more phone a phone every couple of years if our service plans were cheaper and the phones were updated more frequently with new software.
For the last few days the S2 (I777) has shown 'out of stock' on the AT&T website and now is not showing up at all. Has anyone heard any noises about AT&T discontinuing this device?
Mine is performing nicely on CM9 and I was considering purchasing one for my wife as well.

If you go to your local at&t authorized dealer, they will probably be able to get one for you.
Here in CA you could only purchase online or call in to order. Yet they just had a $9.99 with contract that is how I picked up mine this time. First one I sold and than saw the special and said YES... I just went to look and yes nothing is there it was saying out of stock after the sale. Hmmmmmm
I know Sprint is selling there's for $50.00 with contract my co-worker just picked it up... But hey the l777 is still cooler and sexier...

You may have better luck searching at stores in a non-LTE market - the i777 went AWOL from all the stores as soon as the LTE network went live here in the SF bay area. They were heavily pushing the ****rocket, even though their own maps show that I live outside the planned LTE coverage area (by a few miles).
T
Strangely enough, Seattle does not have LTE yet.

In my area the i777 hasn't been in stock anywhere for atleast a month now. I was in the same boat when my wife's upgrade came up about a month ago. Nobody had this phone in stock, not even the att store (it was online, but price wasn't conducive). I finally just settled on getting her the i727 (Skyrocket). Its a really nice device. A little bulkier than the i777 but she's had a good experience with it. Just upgraded it to cm10 (she was running cm9 flawlessly since day 1) and its running great. I actually prefer her display
Originally we had planned to sell the Skyrocket and use that to just buy her an i777 outright. But the Skyrocket wound up being a good device. You could always go that route if you don't plan on buying insurance anyways.
I just ordered a new GS2 from ATT. The invoice order I received in my email referred to the GS2 as the "discontinued Samsung Galaxy S(TM) II"
Business strategy to force users to migrate to the Galaxy S3.....instead the Galaxy S2 still is a actual phone...
Go to WalMart they got crazy deals on the S2, if I were u go hunt one now they'll be gone out of stock before you know it!
Thanks to all who replied. It is looking like there will be no more I777's. Buzzkill.
I guess the GT-I9100 will still be around but, of course, with no subsidized price from AT&T.
I just got my SG2 two days ago. When I called AT&T they told me places like radio shack, wal mart, and sams club would be must likely to have this phone. I got mine from sam's club for under $20. Just a thought for you

Walmart had a special about two month's ago for $ .10 for new or upgrade or even add a line. They sold out in less than twenty four hours I was told. Then I saw the $9.99 on ATT said okay gotta have it. Makes sense if ATT was trying to clear the stock for the Skyrocket and S3. Being it seems they are trying to only do LTE these days.
I am thrilled I got it though.
I am glad I got mine also. I have a HTC one x and the SG2. I am loving the root abilities on the SG2 and the ease of rotting it

So from my constantly flipping phones for fun I was offered a note 2 on craigslist and when I asked if it was a tmobile note 2 he said no its an att i got it last week "when it launched" has there been any early sales or is this some weird scam? I am bringing a buddy and not to worried about getting robbed or anything just more wondering if its actually possible he will show up with one. I am supposed to meet at 1pm est tomorrow to trade so if it goes through and he actually had one I will be up for questions and system dump and anything else I can help with.
Only ones that launched last week were t-mobile. At&t are next week.
