Hey, I used to have a Moto Q that I was able share my internet connection via Bluetooth with a laptop. Is there anyway to do that with the ATP? I have a rooted Samsung SG2 that hopefully I could use. BTW the ATP is rooted too.
Thanks

Look under Development for PROCEDURE..
If your running Overcomes Rom on GT10.1 there is a certain procedure in setting it up..I have mine running off a wireless tether app on my New Galaxy S 2(Epic Touch)..Your phone needs to be rooted to run wireless tether app..I believe its version 3.1 beta6..Let me know how you do..I can post the thread in "How to" set up your SGT 10.1 on a wireless tether...
I noticed we have portable hotspot on our tp but wondering why we do because that is for 3g to shared from the device. I use my phone to tether a hotspot to my prime but why from the tp? L

It wouldn't surprise me if the code is simply in ics and Asus didn't remove it when they customized it for the prime.
^^ this... no reason you would ever tether TO the TFP and it's WiFi only ability.
If you hook up a usb 3g dongle to the prime

Has anyone had any luck getting Pdanet tablet to work? It connects to my HTC Inspire AT&T phone but no data is sent. I have used pdanet to tether my laptops to this phone before so I know the phone can tether.

See the lost tether after ics update thread, various apps worked for some and not others, i was using pdanet tablet as well , then after the update it no longer worked , same problem as you , it would connect but not transmit if that makes any sense, someone suggested i try android wifi tether app, generic name i know, but it worked and i no longer have to fool around with bt pairing.
That said its hit and miss which app will work for you so try that app and search for the thread i mentioned for a further solution if that isn't working for you .

Okay, so I have heard a lot about the wifi problems on the Prime, but I have had mine for about 8 months and had no problems, until today.
I have previously had no problems connecting to the wifi at work, but today, when I tried to connect, the hotspot couldn't be found. I thought it might be an Android problem, but I tested it with my phone, and there was no problem.
Then I decided to test the tablet by connecting to my phone. I had no problem connecting to my phone.
So is there any reason why only my work hotspot isn't recognized? Could the channels be the issue (my phone is on ch6 and my office wifi is on ch 13)?

That seemed to be the problem. After posting this, I thought that the channels could be causing it.
I changed the office wifi to ch6, and now have no problems connecting.

It sounds like you have a rom installed that is based on the US release or one of the other regions that doesn't include the higher channels.
So any of the new JB ROMs support WiFi tethering? I need it for my tablet on the go. I was told that neos TRON rom had a working WiFi tether but my tablet doesn't even see the connection. Thanks in advance

Try [ROM][Unofficial] CM10.1 for HTC Rezound [2-9-13]
native tether/hotspot and the newest PDAnet+ both working for me

I am using this ROM as well. WiFi tethering works great with my Galaxy Tab 7 2.0 (running cm10.1)!

OK thanks I'll give it a shot

It works, but only when using ad-hoc instead. I've also read that 4.2.1 roms have a bug where 4g drops and requires an airplane toggle to reconnect as well. So stay with cm9 or sense based roms if either of those is an issue for you.

Ad hoc is a wireless network mode. Normal wireless mode is infrastructure where you have an access point that everything connects to which manages data exchange similar to a switch. Ad hoc is a mode where computers connect to each other and handle their own data exchange and collision avoidance. "Normal" tethering works in infrastructure mode where the phone becomes an access point. Computers support connecting through ad hoc, but very little else does. Most tablets and gaming devices only support connecting to infrastructure.
