Does the AT&T/Rogers Galaxy Note have gorilla glass? - AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note I717

I was on cornings website
http://www.corninggorillaglass.com/products-with-gorilla/samsung
And its shows the international version having gorilla glass but does the north American version SPH i717 have it?
Can anybody confirm this?

I would be very surprised if it did not. Would not make any sense to run two different sku's for parts, production etc. It would cost more to do it that way. Remember the phone are just coming out this week.
On a different Note (No pun intended) What are the initials after each model number for the Canadian models, I assume it is for the carrier? I am looking to get the Bell Model but their website says it has 512 MB RAM...surely it has 1 gig? Can you confirm 1 GB of RAM? Thanks!

Well i have the Rogers variant of the note and it indeed has 1GB of RAM

R=Rogers, M=Bell, D=Telus.

According to GSM Arena it does.

Click on your link and then click on the small picture of the Note. It takes you to the i717 page.

[Q] SGSII roms on the Hercules?

With the release of the Samsung Hercules close to upon us, i was wondering if anyone knew if i9100 roms will work on the hercules or if we will have to wait to get our own
You mean the tmo celox? Different modem, different soc, bigger screen... i doubt it.
Celox? Last i heard it was, and always had been, the hercules
Sent from my SGH-T959V using XDA App
Celox/hercules don't matter, totally different hardware.
SGH T989 = Samsung Galaxy Hercules
no clue what is that Celox
spec wise they seem to be the same phone, even the back panel says Galaxy S II

so with the release of the Hercules only 3 days away, i was wondering if anyone had anymore information on my question regarding potential roms for it and if they would be the same as for the i9100?

Roms for the i9100 will not be compatible with the hercules. I'm sure like all the other variants, it will have it's own sub-forum and development support.
I figured as much. Well that means I won't be getting it on launch day, i need to be able to use Titanium Backup....

[Q] Different Dev Threads for S3?

Since we have a new sub forum for each carrier and their S3, how will we be able to get good development? I'm guessing most of the main developers are on international and AT&T or Verizon. Couldn't there just be one development thread for Verizon and Sprint and another for AT&T and Tmobile?
Hopefully the whole S3 community will just port each others Rom for their respective carrier!
Ya but are all phones exactly the same? The others have LTE bands..

Nope.
ROM's might not be INTERCHANGEABLE.
That is true. So the Tmobile one is the only one with no LTE (not even for future proofing?)?
For what I've read, roms may be interchangeable. The only difference will be the radios, they must be different for each version... but I'm not completely sure.

So, same roms, different kernels and radios. If that's true, I think will be easy for devs... and we'll have amazing development!

Hopefully Verizon just made a mistake

I was comparing note 2 and DNA on Verizon's website and it lists note 2 as not having NFC Lol

Doesn't the Note II need NFC for S-Beam to work? ...Yeah, I'm definitely thinking that was a typo.

Yes, has been discussed to in Q&A. VZW has even acknowledged this is wrong IIRC, yet they are not going to fix it on their webpage.
Gotta love the Verizon web devs and marketing folks making errors of such significance as to leave out NFC support and putting in S-Beam which the average person won't know what it is.
Of course I do like the commercial where the dad is leaving on a trip and as het gets in the taxi the kids use S-Beam to send him a movie and then his wife does the same, but suggests he not watch it on the plane with a smile oh yeah. I guess those iPhone folks can't do that.

which one? :good:
The box looks good but I am skeptical because Samsung went away from using roman numerals with the s4 so conventional wisdom would suggest the same with the note but who knows.
This screams Photoshop job to me.

[Q] Does the international wireless charging back fit on the Korean model?

You'd think it would as there's only one version of the quick circle case. However the backs of the two of them don't seem the same - the wireless nodes seem too far apart on the international compared to Korean models.

Nope, it would NEVER work. LG made the ports DIFFERENT!
Even if the Korean version didn't have the antenna, the wireless charging adapter still wouldn't fit. They made the ports in different locations on the European and Korean version. I found a picture to prove it, see hidden picture below...
