Is there anyway to get the Note to go into USB Mass Storage Mode?
Lol ran into this earlier..settings then wireless and networking u enable us mass storage from there...awkward place for it..lol
Sent from my awesome GALAXY NOTE..
Go to settings-development-enable USB debugging.
Next time you plug in your phone to the computer you will get an option in the notification bar asking you if you want to enable mass storage or not. Click it and select enable mass storage and Voila!!

Hello to all!
This is my first post at xda so good day to you all I'm an Android dev and a lurker for some time, and now it's time to speak up since I've bought myself my own SGS2 which I already rooted and heavily modified.
My question is: I have a Kia Ceed and I can't make the Galaxy S2 to work with it as a source of music. The car's stereo isn't recognized as a PC so I can't turn on the USB transfer mode. Is there any way to force the phone to turn on the USB transfer mode regardless of what's it's connected to?
Thanks
Marcel

Have you tried...
settings > wireless and networks > usb utilities > connect storage to pc?
Nope, that does nothing. The car's lcd says 'reading' but nothing happens on the phone.

In that case, I think you might be stuck with having your music on your SD card and using a card reader!
Nope, if you are using Stock ROM, it does not use a standard USB ATAPI driver.
CM7 has a USB Storage mode which when turned on, should work. Since it uses a standard USB ATAPI driver.
try settings\ applications \ development \ click usb debugging.

As I mentioned, i'm a dev, so USB debuging is constantly on.

Thanks. I'm not sure if I'm ready to jump in the CyanogenMod bandwagon just yet, especially since it's still in it's early stages. But that's a solution!

The idea is to reduce te number of devices, not to multiply it.

A card reader on your car keyring is hardly increasing the number of devices! Just offering a suggestion.
Before going to cm7, i'm pretty sure i had to turn debugging off to get the usb to work.

You do, but it tells you that when you turn USB storage on.
I have also same car model (ceed) and also same phone (s2). So Cm7 really does the job? Can anybody confirm? Or is there any other solution that car stereo could recognize sd cards on the phone?
My Tab is P7500, rooted and I have Mod version: aokp_p4_build-31. My issue is when I connect it to my PC, it doesn't see the internal storage. I'm trying to transfer some files to the internal storage but cannot. Please help
Thanks problem solved with some search in the forums
How did you solve the problem?
Most likely the "problem" that everybody who doesn't search faces.
settings, storage, 3 dots, USB transfer, mtp connection

I haven't been able to get my Tab to connect in months. What do you mean 3 dots?

When I connect the phone to my PC via USB, I only get two options. One is a media mode and the other is a camera mode. Either mount the phone as a normal hard drive (like my Galaxy S1 does). While the media mode does allow me to copy files to the phone, it is really slow.
Is there a way to put the T999 in USB mass storage mode?
+1... this is stupid

Are you rooted yet? Requires root, but it also has some warnings not to use it yet.
It doesn't work for us yet

On a Mac...
You have to install the Android File Transfer: http://www.android.com/filetransfer/
You also, when connected, have to change it from MTP to Camera... It'll load automatically on my Macs now.
On a PC, changing it to Camera makes it just connect and open up an explorer window.
After working with the phone for a few days I find I am using dropbox more and more as a replacement for connecting to my PC via USB. We'll see how it goes.
So today I was fooling around with "Anycut" and I came across "USB Settings". I loaded that onto my homescreen and was shocked to see the options:
Samsung Kies (*) (checked by default)
Mass storage ( )
I quickly selected Mass storage hoping it would enable it but it hasn't. I still only get MTP when connecting to my PC.
Does anyone know what these options are for?
Whats anycut...i can find it in playstore

that is strange, maybe try wiping all data from the phone in recovery with a factory reset and try again

really want to avoid that… ill ring samsung today and see if they can help… ugh hope they are competent and don't waste more of my time!
They wont advise turning on usb debugging
ha! they went a step further to dismiss the option even exists… ugh.. should have stuck with apple, major problems if a consumer that has had an android device for 2 weeks and knows more about it than the 'Samsung Expert'
Called them on the phone too, said it was working and he had no idea why it wasn't on mine. that was literally it…

I just had the same issue.
Turns out the problem is having a Knox container - USB debugging was permanently disabled until I removed MyKnox from my phone, so it would appear the two are mutually exclusive.

Reset my device, which allowed me to switch on USB debugging, but noticed I lost it shortly after setting up Knox again. Removing it brought it back, so I guess that this is working as designed.

ahh ok.. funnily enough there was a guy working for samsung in an EE shop (oxford street, london) and he was super puzzled. he was showing me on his demo phones (which he explained about 15 times that it was a fake phone and not a real one, took me about 20mins to figure out what he was saying. its basically a phone without the calling features..).
Forget Password
Hi guys, it is possible to turn on debugging mode if the phone is blocked? i need some audio records from my s6 edge but i forget my password. and i don't want to do the hard reset because i really need the files... or if y do hard reset if i use dr.fone or something else it is a way to recover the deleted files?
usb debugging popup screen
I can activate USB debugging but i won't get the popup screen when I plugin mine usb cable, the Phone connects to the laptop. I can get files from the Phone to the laptop and from the laptop to the Phone but that's it
