Ensquared warranty question - AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note I717

If I root and/or flash my note with a custom Rom can I still use the ensqaured warrenty? I have not bought it yet because I plan flashing cm9 on this and don't want to waste my money. Thanks

Even if you do, it wont be long until the stock kernal and rom are up here
Then you can just revert it back to stock and send it in

I think my ATT Note is fried from trying to make it work with t mobil

Pro's please help!
Well, really do not know what to do now.
I started off by unlocking phone, then I installing CWM with Odin, I then installed saurom v7 and then Modem t989, Did everything the instructions said about wiping data before installs. Now phone just freezes after booting up. changes pages, but real real slow and keeps restarting. I then tried installing ICS, the phone works much faster and does not freeze, but now it does not find the t mobil sim card.
So, I tried to restore phone using Odin with a att restore file I downloaded at: http://rootgalaxynote.com/galaxy-no...brick-att-galaxy-note-sgh-i717-android-2-3-6/
Phone is real slow and keeps locking up, nothing works.
So what do I do now. Phone was brand new in the box as of this morning.
Please help, real frustrated.
Swap it out or call warranty
Install CWM and then factory reset. Wipe data 2 times. Clear cache 2 times. Clear dalvik cache.
Install the stock att tar file from this address with Odin:
http://m-s-j.net/dagnarf/pda-odin-att-stock-kernel.tar
Make sure the only thing checked is auto reboot. And make sure you're using PDA.

Factory reset is an option in CWM

Well call warranty and tell them its not functioning properly. Tell them you've had it over 30 days and they'll send a replacement.
The phone worked perfect out of the box in the morning. I tried the fix of using Odin to put on the ATT kernal, but the phone never started after 10 minuts.
Is there a fix to get ICS to read the sim card?
Right now it says no card is loaded.

He got the phone fron ePray, and he's with TMobile. AT&T wont even touch that claim. His only viable option is through Samsung. Even still, why would you encourage him to commit fraud? And people complain because carriers are charging a restocking fee, and wonder why.

Was it reading the sim card on Gingerbread?

Sound like you flashed the wrong modem. Try the ics modems.

Thank you everyone for all your help!!!!!!

Lmao, I didn't suggest he commit fraud and please don't tell me about these blood sucking cellphone companies. They charge you $35 to put a phone back in the stockroom even if its defective. I returned my original Note and got charged $35 even though the phone was clearly defective. I didn't sweat it because I just called at&t and they refunded the fee.
Or purchase from Best Buy since there is no restock fee.

+1 because the guy is doing all these risky things to the phone, and doesn't even know how to factory reset. Do yourself a favor homesite and just learn how to swim before just jumping into the deep end buddy.
Go back to stock by flashing with Odin like the above post mentions and start over and take baby steps. Maybe root and flash the modem just to get it working on your carrier...

[Q] Reset Flash Counter (Sprint)

Anyone find out how to reset the Flash Counter on Sprint S3 yet? The only ways Ive found are for the International version.
No known counter resets on the American variants as of now.

Because if your carrier detects that you have been flashing, it voids the warranty. No worries, devs will build a workaround.

Can I return my phone if that flash counter shows something beside 0?
Wouldnt hold your breath...
Although I'm sure he'll pull through if its possible this was copied from chainfire's twitter:
Chainfire XDA ‏@ChainfireXDA
@virtuatony the US/CAN models use a completely different method. No idea if/when it'll be supported by Triangle Away. Maybe never.
So wouldn't count on it being soon

my sII had a flash counter of 98 with current binaries = custom and i had the yellow warning triangle. and sprint still helped me, they usually dont care as long as your problem isnt from rooting custom ROMs and or overclocking

International version, root, warranty

Hi guys,
I am about to buy the S III international/European version. I would like to use it with a sim card I already have from a different carrier, and thus I will need to unlock it. The research I did though tells me that I need to first root it which is not reversible and I will void my warranty because of the counter cannot be reset.
I am not interested to put any roms or anything, I just want to use it with a different carrier from my country. So can someone confirm that rooting it will void my warranty or that has been overcome already. If not, will it be possible in the future, say in the next month or so?
You can root it and you can use voodoo sim unlock from the play store and that will unlock your phone.
Afterwards if you need to you can use triangle away which will reset the counter to zero and Samsung will be none the wiser if you have to send it back for warranty.

Cool, so I am safe to root & unlock. You can reverse the process on the intl version as opposed to the US version. Sweet!

Sprint Motorola Photon 4G Accidentally Flashed [2.3.5][SV2]Custom SBF files

How can I fix my sprint motorola photon 4g phone after flashing the us cellular rom on it? HELPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP
Get replacement if you have tep or send to Motorola to get it fix. Use your common sense what you would say to describe the problem. Otherwise there is no fix.

There is I did the same thing, Theres no way to go back to stock, but there is a way to fix it so it works again. Check my thread that says rocko ROM 3.0 or somethin
Sent from my MB855 using xda app-developers app
If it's the 2.3.5 you're locked for good. Get a replacement. Not sure how so many people accidentally flash the electrify sbf's to the photon...

Something needs to be done to avoid mixing these two identical phones and yet so different.

It's not so much different phone, problem is, that it's 2.3.5 and we don't have any 2.3.5 for photon for reflash.
It's not bricked, you just need to learn some steps to bring it back to sprint services.

Hi peetr! Thank you for your responce. My system build before flashing was (198_7)-1FF-sunfire-user-2.3.4-4.5.1A-1_SUN-198_7-CM-release-keys-signed-Sprint-US.sbf This is what I was on before I rsd'ed the 1FF-sunfire-user-2.3.5-4.5.1A_SUN_USC_19.0-19-release-keys-signed-USC-US
I accidentally flashed my photon to the 2.3.5.usc electrify rom as well and would love a solution if there is one besides taking it back to sprint. I believe my warranty is voided now and being a full time student i can't afford to pay for them to fix my phone. any solutions ?
Talk to motorola, just tell them phone doesn't work. I got new refurbished phone from them.

OK thanks but quick question since I'm on T-Mobile network to I flash tmobile modems or at&t modems?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using xda app-developers app
They will be under downloads if u used ur phone to download them.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using xda premium
Well I tried flashing the T-Mobile modems but when I reboot I don't have service so I guess I should flash the at&t modems since it is the at&t phone guess it doesn't matter I'm using tmobile service
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using xda app-developers app
It does matter what modem you use and it depends on your location. ANY and ALL modems should give you phone service at least. So you have a problem. A problem talked about much many months ago. Again Backup, wipe completely, and install the factory ATT ROM using odin. Before you set it up do a factory reset for ****z and giggles. Verify that you have phone service. Then install recovery and superuser. Then install a T-mobile modem. Verify you have data and phone service. Then install the ROM of your choice. Do not reinstall a modem.
And please quit posting everywhere. You have been told what to do by a few now and all you do is rant everywhere. Maybe you should have purchased a T-mobile phone to use on T-mobile and saved yourself the trouble.
Yea but they charged more for the t-mobile version ima prolly wait and sell this one for 300 and put that with my check 2 hrs pf battery life is sad i thought the note would be better then that lol but i already did all that and i know im in a t-mobile 4g area cuz i had a t-mobile phone before and i tried all the modems they are not compatible for this phone im thinking the guy lied to me i think o might have a foreign phone again

super everything, and look for SIM unlock.
this will instruct you how to unlock from ATT (getting a code from them) then unlock.
just read it the yesterday as a matter of fact. RANGER CAPTAIN is the author of the thread. in the first post, scroll down a bit and it is listed with some MOD's.
titled "UOCKING STEPS"
once unlocked, then you can put your Tmobile SIM in. as he states this only needs to be done once. you can then flash other ROM's and the process should stick.
good luck
Thanks man sorry for being a noob lol

by the way, if you e spending a lot of time in recovery or constantly flashing something, your battery is going to SUPER SUCK.
your battery should be in the higher end of charged when flashing. recommended 70% or better. could probably get away with 55 or 60 though. again, every time you flash, you take a hit.
Ah ok but a friend of mine used it today it was fully charged went from 100% to 5% in like an hr and 45 min and i was reading on the sim unlock this phone was already unlocked when i purchased it that's how i was able to get t-mobile on this phone i get 4g but it doesn't stay connected i have to restart a lot to get it connected again and most of the time i have no bars so idk maybe i should stop buying unlocked phones lol
