Good find, where did you find this?
Maybe this fw upgrade also brings internet sharing! Anyone got hands on the change log?

So tempted to flash it. I just hate all the app-reinstalling afterwards...

theres an app called re-installer that scans your account for apps youve downloaded and you can chose which to reinstall. its a little manual, but it does help

ReInstaller is fantastic. Still takes time, but is MUCH faster than the standard method.
Yes, let us know what you find on the FW update. Curious about ICS.

Ok, just flashed.
The phone rebooted and I was greeted with a nice Vodafone logo! Didn't realise it was Vodafone branded...
Still playing around with it, but have just installed Diagnostics and they've updated the battery status app. It only shows Voltage and Current (ie, full charge capacity has gone). I have to say, it's idling at a MUCH LOWER discharge rate than before. At idle, it's discharging at 50 - 65mA!! On 11501, it idled at 140mA!
Will post with more info after I've had a play around

Awesome news about the battery! Also did they fix the backlight issues?

The backlight on the 3 buttons stays illuminated when on medium and high brightness too
Cant see anything to do with WiFi tethering though...

I only have Edge at home, so can't test 3G. Will test it when I go downtown tomorrow

I can't wait to try this out on my UK Lumia. I've got sick to death of the absolutely appalling battery life. If this doesn't sort it then I really will try to get shot of the thing.

Any changes to the audio quality coming through the 3.5 mm jack? (better bass??)

I may be wrong, but the camera seems exactly the same. Still has that red tinge in the centre...

Another "I found solution for battery" Thread :/
I think these threads should be made at the general section rather than in development.
At least untill we find a guaranteed solution, otherwise this sub-forum is going to be filled with crap
That was just "My" Opinion
Umm i don't think so since the update don't have any fixes for battery drainage on HD2! LOL?

actually same performance with the 7004 version,
i only just notice that it improves my battery, i dont know if this works for others
I've found the solution, maybe.
hd2 to connect my power supply, turn off the system reboots itself, and the battery lasts 2 days.
but I want to test well.
if someone wants to try ...
i updated the rom ,turn off, the system reboots itself. turn off again. i put my batt in a box. now im wondering how long my battery life will be. mod please close this thread.

I also found a solution to battery drainage, although it is a bit different than those above and it lasts for 3 days now!
I found that if you boot into WP7, then launch Android ADB (YES, ANDROID ADB), then type:
connect /dev/wp7
rm batt_stat.dat
Remove the cable WITHOUT CLOSING ADB, reboot the device & run around your home holding your HD2 as high as you can. Believe it or not - this worked for me. Don't ask "why" or "how" - I don't know, I found this trick on some chineese forums.

[Q] Extract Cinema Plug-In from firmware 2.3.26 and put it into firmware 2.1.08

I was wondering, if someone with firmware 2.3.26 could extract the relevant system files for the videoplayer, so we could put the files into the 2.1.08 firmware.
I just downgraded from 2.3.26 to 2.1.08 because of the battery drain.
So, is that possible and could someone test this?
This has been asked before and the answer was allways, IT IS NOT POSSIBLE.
One thing about the batteriedrain, do jou also have a wifi problem?
Since i switched OFF the energysaving feature ( no i switched on the not using the energysaver option ) the tablet is working ok and draines less.

I didn't have a wifi problem, but the batterydrain was always the same, even when I switched the energysave option off.
But why the issue with the plug-in isn't possible? How Archos made it working in 2.3.26 without the plugin?

1) OK, I thought it would be only a system file.
2) I mean, how Archos edited the firmware to do this. Archos has enabled MPEG2 and AC3 by default. I thought, we could do the same like Archos to port it into the firmware.

Ahhh
Then you have to ask sauron if they could do this in urukdroid
As i don't see batterie drain, there has to be somethink on on your tablet that does this.
And in uruk 1.1 ac3 is working and i don't see a reason to go back.

1) No, there isn't something. In other forums, there are lots of people saying the same. The 2.3.26 also charges only until 97%. The battery driver seems to be bad in the firmware.
And with 2.1.08, the battery life is perfect!
2) Sorry, but I don't want to use UrukDroid.
You know how a forum works?
Those with problems come here ( or there ) and describe their problem or are going "me too".
Those without these Problems normally don't participate.
So even if there are 20 People here that are complaining about batteriedrain doesn't even mean that they are the mayority.
It might be that all of you are using some software ( Twitter, facebook, Skype ) that is allways connected and needs more batteries because there are more possibilities then in 2.1.
If you want to stay with 2.1.08 you have to live without ac3 or get the plugin.
Otherwise find that software that is responsible on your machine as i don't have any drain at all.
And why not Uruk?

Yeah,you're right
That's what i allways say: Try Uruk
OK, I understand.
Then I've to live without the cinema plug-in.
I don't want to try Uruk, because I like the stable stock firmware.
But only a question to the 2.3.26 users: Do you've the problem, that the battery only charges to 97%, not to 100%? And the 100. % stays not so long as in 2.1.08?
Flix the latest firmware has a minor problem with battery . Its charges the battery to 100% and stops charging it . So when you charge you're tablet through the night when you wake up , if the tablet is not in deep sleep mode , you will see the battery to be around 95 to 97 % . If you charged your device for more than 12 hours the battery can be even 90% when you unplug it . This is what happening to my device . If I only charged it for 2 hours I see that battery is 100% .
Sent from my A70S using Tapatalk
Maybe it's different on different devices, but I had a ca. 30% more battery drain.
I tested the different firmwares with the same video under the same conditions, so my problem is proved.
And the battery charges only until 90-97%, even if I load it for only 2h.
I don't know, if you can read a bit german, but here is a thread from me, where much people say the same.
Have you counted the number of people in that thread?
It's exactly 5, so that's not alot.
Never the less it is a Problem and as snooper said his problems where solved with the WLan switch.

Happy to say about my DX battery life

With Power saver enabled option and Du battery saver app and frequent data connection (not continuous data connection) my Desire X (unrooted) battery life is very good.

my desire x is unlocked. but not rooted. it has stock jb. no extra features above these. only thing I am doing is I use data connection when ever I need, but not always. but roughly data connection will be in active position above 2 hours in a day. my battery life is 2 days for 3g network and 2 and halfdays for 2g network. my dx has 90 insalled apps.

Lol to be sincere my desire x won't last even 4 hours with WiFi and little texting with music, 2 hours continuous gaming and from 100% to 20% and that's what my battey life is all about. With average usage and random use of WiFi I get 6 hours..and AFAIK its really depressing

Battery usage

Hello everybody, here I am for some informations about the battery life of galaxy alpha. I am using an official stock rom 5.0.2 of Samsung. I charge my phone 2 or 3 times per day, but recently I check the battery usage in the setting and I see the wifi seems to be actived all the time even I set it off. Please check the attachment file for screenshot. I just wonder if the problem comes from firmware or I just have to change my battery?
Best regards

Yes, I am using this battery and it is perfect (2500 mAh instead of 1860), but it hasn't NFC (I don't care... never used it)
Does it last longer than the 1860 battery? There are cheap ones on eBay that claim to be 2500, but I doubt they last longer than the 1860.

I am on official firmware update from OTA, if I flash the official firmware from sammobile, it's the same thing I doubt... I am in France, if I flash the firmware that come from other countries, I'm afraid it wouldn't run correctly and there's maybe some problems with the network.
Wi-fi location scanning
There are two possibilities for excessive battery consumption with wi-fi. If your phone is set to always scan, then this will still cause the battery to drain as the wi-fi is never really disabled.
Disable this function with 'Settings > Wi-fi > advanced > always keep wi-fi on > never' the advanced settings are under the little 3dot menu at the top right of the wi-fi settings screen.
The other option may be that Google's location services may be causing a drain by using wi-fi to geolocate you.
Try disabling location services for a day and see how it pans out for you.
If neither of these help then I'm all out.
Good luck

Battery drain?

Is there something wrong with my phone? I have it over a year now and i noticed that during this time, its battery life completely dropped.
First it was like 70% of battery at the end of the day,
then like about 55 to 60 and now its 45.
i found out that google app is drainig a lot of power but obviously there is no way to stop it or to uninstall it.
Any advices? Im on stock 8.0.0.378 European software, zero modifications.
