Lock screen that doesn't hide video? - Galaxy Tab 10.1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Anyone know of an app that allows you to lock the screen but still display video? Would be nice when my daughter is watching movies so there's no screen interaction possible.

I know MX Player can do this.

As does the standard player

Yeah, I'm pretty sure VLC Player can too.

Well, this might not be the intended use for this app but from the description it might just do in your case:
1. Recording starts and stops in the background
2. Record with front or back camera

Thanks for the help but my Nexus won't open link right now have to try PC tomorrow....

[Q] is there a way to do this??

I play a lot of Xbox and watch a lot of YouTube. How do people record what they're doing on the TV and is there an app for this for phones? Basically what i want to do is record a game that im playing on my TV (Xbox 360) and get it on my phone to show a buddy.

I found out that I'd need to buy and install some sort of capture card in my PC to do this but is there anyway to connect my phone directly to my TV and capture what I'm watching on my TV? Maybe this should be moved to the regular question section.

Depends on the game but call of duty mw3 has a built in recorder and saves the entire game for playback then if you like a segment you can upload from the game for sharing. Hope that helps.

A phone cannot capture a televisions video input. You need the capture card and then move the captured video to your phone.

BS PLAYER works great.
Mx player, and vlc. It depends on how they were encoded though.

I third that. Mx all the way!
I cant get 1080p mkvs to play smoothly and ive tried everything. These are blu ray rips using makemkv.com software. its slight stuttering around characters facial ffeatures in fast scenes. I gave up and reencode now. Dissapointed because my s3 played back the same files flawlessly.
I use dice player and haven't had any issues.

Videos cut out

When watching videos in any browser, they will go black unless I either keep tapping the screen or keep changing volume. Example: watching Youtube in Chrome instead of the app, the video plays, but the visual disappears, not the audio. Youtube is just an example, it does this with any video online. Anyone else have this?
