I was wondering if there was a way to extract the unlocked stock rom and make it into a flashable zip file like other roms. What I'm getting at is I have my unlocked stock rom set up the way I like it now, but want to try out custom roms. I don't want to have to go back thru the flashing of stock sbf, root, unlock, if I want to get back to where I'm at now, so was wondering if there was a way to somehow extract how my phone is now to a flashable zip, that way if I flash a custom rom, and don't like it, I can just flash my current set up back to the phone? Is this possible.
I know I can nandroid, but I'd have to go thru the whole process of putting the stock sbf back on which means relocking and all that process. Just hoping that there is a short cut hehe.

If you already have your unlocked stock ROM and have CWM, then just use nandroid back up to get back to where you were. You don't need to relock/flash sbfs. I have my stock ROM saved as a nandroid and can flash that to get back to it if I want.
Oh, I didn't realize that. I had a nandroid of my locked stock, but couldn't nandroid back to it once I unlocked and tried rocko rom, It kept giving me an error. Now that I have a nandroid of my unlocked stock, I should be able to nandroid back to it then since its unlocked correct? Also can I rename the backups to set "UnlockStock" without it hurting anything. I had an epic before and renamed a nandroid, and i couldn't restore it.
Don't rename.

I cant guarantee it will work for you, but ive renamed several of my backups, all i did was add at the end of the normal default-time-name was _CM9 or _Stock and they work no issue, ive used them several times. As long as you have no spaces and use _ you *should* be able to still use it fine. If your going to rename make sure you test and insure that you can still use if before you get yourself stuck in a hard place and need it and it doesn't work for you.

My 3vo is kinda broken I think, the battery life is super bad and it just has a lot of software related problems. Now I did S-off and root, and then didn't flash a rom, but I did flash bootscoot, which I think started it all. Now what I want is to restore my phone, and delete things like bootscoot. Can I do that with a hard reset? Remember, I want to keep S-off and root, but the rest can go. What do?
I have GSM 3vo btw, so there is no good stable rom I can flash, so I really want to keep the stock rom I have on there now, but hard reset AND restore flashes stuff. No way to do this?
Dangit, title is stupid. Don't want to restore flashed things, but delete them (restore to stock), Like bootscoot moved some system files, will they be moved back?
What the hell is a bootscoot?
To restore your phone completely back to how it was and keep S-OFF+root+busybox etc., first run the superwipe.
Here is team Xron's superwipe: http://www.androidfilehost.com/xron/Betas
Download the one titled "XRONFORMATALL"
Next, download a stable ROM. I couldn't find the stock 2.08 rooted ROM but you may be able to find it if you keep looking.
Now, place both zips on your SD card. Boot into recovery. First, wipe data. Then, flash the superwipe. After that, flash the ROM you downloaded and boot up.
You should now have nothing on your phone except the ROM you installed.

If you want to return to complete stock 1.13 with S-ON and no root, you can flash the PG86IMG located here:

Flash the superwipe and wipe through recovery if you want just to be safe.

Bootscoot is this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=17748500
Ah damn this is the only way? That is not what I want...
I have the stock rom, but with root options. So what if I do a hard reset? It won't restore the flashed things? And what if I do a hard reset via cwm recovery? That won't fix things either. I just want to keep the stock rom, but with superuser. BTW I have GSM so not any good roms yet.

My Suggestion would be to just make a Nandroid backup of your phones Stock Rom, Then after you have the backup made try Wiping Data (Factory Reset) Also there PM86IMG Images that can be Ran from the SDCard which will Always give you back the OTA Updates!
OK I am still a bit confused/overwhelmed with how to get my phone to the OTA update. I am unlocked, rooted, stock ROM, and have AmonRa recovery. Just wanted to make sure i have all my ducks in a row before pulling the trigger on this thing.
1. Make a nandroid backup...CHECK...one thing i do know how to do
2. I know I will have to revert back to stock recovery for the OTA to go through.
-I am going to used Clean flash to flash the stock recovery (as it seems to me to be the most noob friendly way)
-Once i have flash stock recovery with clean flash I am good to go recovery wise, i.e. that's all i have to do to replace AmonRa?
-Will replacing AmonRa give me issues with my nandroid since i used AmonRa to make it?
3. Then go into settings and proceed with the OTA
4. After OTA completes flash (with Cleanflash) AmonRa to replace stock recovery
-do I have to delete anything with the stock recovery?
5. Restore nandroid backup to restore root?
Thanks guys in advanced...I am determined to figure this thing out, not only for this but I am still trying to wrap my brain around all the terminology and all the processes not just for this but I really want to branch out and install custom ROMs as well. Might look at making some instructional videos for us noob Rezound users that learn better my seeing something done versus reading how its done. Also if anyone is willing to jump on teamview and help me out that is a option as well.
and again THANKS.
1) Make nandroid
2) Go to the first post in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1467329 and download the ROM. Note, all you have to do here, is download and flash.
a) To flash, get into recovery
b)go to option to flash .zip menu
C)if you downloaded this with your phone (you should have) you need to go into the "download" folder
d)click on the ota update zip.
3) IF your wifi and wireless tether are not working after you have flashed! Go to this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1467793 first post and FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS!
a) the ph98img needs to be on the root of your sd card. The root of your sd card is when you have it plugged into your computer as a disk drive, its the first set of folders that pops up when you open the drive for your sd card. (if that makes any sense)
Voola, you are now on the new ROM, with wifi working.
eta a-d and if you scroll through recovery with volume keys, select with power key. Follow the instructions after the rom flashes.
Mmmmk, everything went fine till I get to step 3.
Did have issue with wifi not working. I tried to do both files but it wanted to instal the PH file first which i canceled. Removed the PH file and just flashed the wifi fix. rebooted, but still no wifi. thought maybe i did something wrong so I tried it again. The my phone stated bootlooping, so now i am restoring the nandroid backup. Any further help would be appreciated.
Okay think I am good to go.
download quickboot from the market.
Boot phone up,
download files,
use quickboot to get you into recovery
flash the 2.6 file FIRST
developer menu back into hboot
let ph98 flash
reboot phone
delete ph98 off of root
If I can piggy back on your thread, I too have some questions re: getting the OTA that I haven't yet found direct answers to.
1.) If using the [ROM] Stock Rooted OTA ROM w/ Firmware to get to the OTA, is the stock recovery still necessary? Or can I do this from Amon Ra? (I'm currently running Tachi's De-Sensed ROM with Amon Ra recovery, and I know my mainver is still 1.xx)
2.) If stock recovery is necessary, is a stock ROM necessary too? For example, is it necessary to have a stock ROM on the phone BEFORE flashing the stock recovery?
3.) It doesn't seem as if relocking is necessary either, is it? Do you have to relock only if you're trying to run the RUU?
thanks all (including OP)

Someone correct me if I am wrong, PLEASE!
If you lock your phone, and run the ph98 img, your mainver will be updated.
You will have to relock if you want the new radios, I didnt unlock originally and everything worked fine.
I have the new radio because I flashed the Tmo Stock ICS leak. I am still S-On and using 4eXt Recovery and rooted. Everything was working great so I made a backup. I then flashed Revolutionized-Senseless ICS Rom and that also worked great so I also made a backup.
I've decided i prefer Sense UI 3.6 so I tried restoring my Stock backup nut somehow cannot. My question is...is there a zip file I can flash through recovery that would give me back Stock Tmo ICS without having to go through flashing the leaked ph85img.zip, then flashing a recovery, then rooting it and then setup.
MD5 checked on the Stock backup but would still not flash. Any help would be appreciated.
My guess is, and I havent dug into this, that Revolutionized changed the radio or some other basic architecture that the stock ics needs. Im guessing youre going to have to flash PH85IMG.zip. Once you have that flashed and rooted, you should be able to flash back to your other stock backup so you have all your apps and stuff installed again.
Perhaps if you could offer more specifics on why you cant flash back to your stock backup such as error messages or what happens when you try to flash it?
Alright, so I wiped my phone in TWRP in preparation to flash something and I neglected to make a backup (I know, rookie mistake). The ROM I tried flashing will not go through and now I am stuck. I can boot into recovery fine but I really need a ROM to flash so I have something to boot into. I can't use an RUU (I have tried), probably because I used the bootloader unlock/root work-around. I'd gladly take any advice but I think what I need is just a flashable .zip of the stock ROM or maybe a backup I can restore in TWRP. If some kind soul could help me out, I'd be forever grateful.
are you referring the the stock rom offered by mycomputerdoctor? If so, the flashing does fail, but your phone will still work. From what I understand the only problem is the error in TWRP and you wont have root anymore.
My phone does indeed still work, but I wiped /system before trying to flash so I don't have a ROM installed currently and therefore cannot boot past the splash screen.

Unfortunately, that is an RUU, which does not work for me. Thanks, though.
install the rom, even if it says fails, it should still boot. you could also just adb push the updated rom on to your sd card.

Im in the same boat :/ stuck in recovery and have no rom to flash. going to try to adb the latest version and see how that goes.
I was afraid of something like this. We shouldn't be messing with our phones without a back to factory state.
I'm actually all set now. I flashed the updated stock, debloated ROM and made a back up so I'm good to go.

Hello everybody. I recently flashed my phone with the latest Cyanogenmod rom for the HTC one, using the wHil recovery flasher. However after playing with the rom for a bit I decided I want to swap back to stock everything that came with my phone. What is the process to go about doing this?
Thanks!
Did you make a nandroid before flashing the Rom, if yes then just flash it then flash stock tmobile recovery img then relock the bootloader..just do a quick search and you find out how to do it... But it will still say tampered on bootloader... But ota will work cause that only requires stock recovery and stock Rom

I did not, however I downloaded someone else's stock nandriod dump.
So all I need to do is flash the stock rom, flash the stock recovery, relock the bootloader and I should be able to get OTA updates and all that good stuff again?

Yes, that's what I did, and OTA updates work perfert
That's great to hear. So I shouldn't experience any issues when I return to the stock rom like loosing any kind of features and such?
I've been having issues trying to adb push this backup to my phone since 4.2 andriod has things locked down in regards to backups. Been getting the device not found issue, so I'm going to try and push it using a different PC soon hopefully. With where I work I can't live without WiFi calling/texting that Cyanogenmod lacks
So I have the stock backup through clockwork mod and I have it in the proper /clockworkmod/backup folder. Problem is, clockwork mod touch isn't detecting that I have any backups to restore. So I decided to make a fresh backup just to see where it was placed so I could put this other backup I downloaded in there.
Problem. I can't find it anywhere. I don't know where to put it. I don't know where clockworkmod touch wants it to go. Any ideas?
EDIT: Apparently there are two of these folders? *looking more*
EDIT 2: Clearly, If I try to restore from the saved backups, it shows the backup I made, but no amount of searching is finding it through any of my file managers. I'm finding the backup I downloaded, but not the one I made. wtf? Are there hidden folders or something? I have root access.
EDIT 3: There are apparently two clockwork mod folders on my phone. Clockwork mod is saying that it sees the test backup I made on 6-10, but when I check in my file manager for a backup, it shows me the folder with a 4-26 backup which is what I want to restore. The FILE MANAGER sees a folder with 4-26, whereas clockworkmod sees a folder with a backup of 6-10. Both folders are apparently clockworkmod/backup. Does anyone have any idea what's going on here?
So I just flashed the stock rom, reinstalled the stock rescue image, and relocked my bootloader.
How long does it take for me to be able to get the 4.2 update?
