Nokia Drive 2.0 Update Release Date? - Nokia Lumia 800

Hi Nokia Lovers,
Can anyone confirm or deny that Nokia Drive on your devices has been updated to 2.0 yet? I've read a few online articles that say it has and a few that say there still is no set release for the 2.0 update yet?
Thanks!

Downloaded and tried the offline route calculation for about 273km distance. I must say it is faster than my gps device
Simulation would be good to have next ...

You may have to reinstall the apps from the Marketplace, the update button wasn't appearing for me.

I installed the new NOKIA Drive 2,on my LG E900 ...and does not work......(Nokia Drive is not supported on your device)...!!! Is there any workaround in order to work? Thanks!

Nope, only exclusive to Nokia at the moment, don't know when they plan to release it to all devices, I think it'll be a long time though, as right now it's one way of marketing their handsets.

Just updated to v2.

on HTC Mozart not work too, we must wait to hacked version

Just did ob my LG and it works

do you have nokia drive 2.0??

First impressions...
The trouble I have with Nokia Drive (possibly more accurate to say the maps it uses) is that the only time I've ever tried it, I immediately hit one of the mapping errors within 20 yards of my home. Essentially the app tells me to "take the 5th exit on a roundabout, when it should say 3rd - I'm guessing it counts the small island between entry and exit lanes and doubling the count.
I know it's unfair, but when this is the first thing you see it really shakes your confidence in a product. Other GPS systems I have do not have this issue, but then again they are probably use other maps (and I'll admit they will have different issues).
Either way, Drive has been removed from my home screen.
Is there a way of reporting mapping errors?

Eris 2.1 OTA upgrade announced

Ok everyone can quit complaining about the 2.1 update! I just checked Verizon Eris Software Upgrade page and its announced that there is an update coming soon! I know theres no date but at least it is now finally up on their site. If you dont belive me check it out your self & for those who doubted it would ever come this just shows that paicence is a virtue.

Check out both pdf files. The Benifits of Software link states all the updates for 2.1 and that it will be OTA
Credit to "Brainfart" on the Verizon forums for spotting first, thanks !!
Willing to bet money its going to be the same as the last leak. Or at least VERY close to the same...
If you read the pdf., the software revision is the same as leak v.3
I think they just posted the upgrade page to shut everyone up!
The upgrade will be here when monkey's come out of my butt!

I think (hopefully) they may be talking about getting your corporate email through verizon, kind of like how blackberry does it. I dunno though, that would be lame to have to pay extra to be able to connect to your companys network.

Actually, it appears to have a few things that did not come with leak 3, like the 3d gallery and voice to text:
New support for voice-to-text entry.
− Whenever a text-entry box appears, simply tap the
microphone icon on the virtual keyboard and speak.
New Gallery application with 3D layout. View and share photos

And THAT is a *****. Because the new software version # is the same as the last leak, which means Verizon probably won't push it through to your phone because it will think you already have it. Guess it's a wait and see thing. I suppose you could reinstall one of the older leaks and then see if Verizon will push it to your phone. Ya suppose that would work??

They already charge for this. It isnt something new. I believe the price difference is 5-10$, cant rem. BUT you keep your regular plan and still do corp email as I dont think there is a way for them to stop this from happening at the moment. From what I rem (this was almost a year ago) the Verizon rep telling me, its on the "honor system".

Yeah, they ran that scam on us for awhile. They were charging us $15 extra per month (!) on top of the $30 data package, on top of our other regular charges, just so my wife could get to her work e-mail. Then we got her the Eris & I realized we could do the exact same thing (access an exchange server account) without paying the $15 extra per month. Bastards.

there is no way to downgrade as of yet. Hopefully someone will capture the update file like when the Motorola Droid got its update. If the ota doesn't come to those I'd us on v3 we'll have to do it the manual way. Either way the phone is going to be wiped. Gonna be a lot of pissed off people after this update

See, I'm not convinced yet. If you have leak V3 installed, I doubt you'll get the update, because the software version and baseband numbers are the same. The phone will think it's already updated. But what's to stop you from reinstalling leak V2 the old-fashioned way?? Then it should see that there is an upgrade/update available. I have a (kinda) unique advantage here...my daughter's Eris is untouched and still running the original 1.5. My wife's Eris is running leak V2, and my personal Eris is running leak V3. So to some degree I can just sit back and watch it all unfold. I have no reason to think my daughter's untouched phone won't get the update. Once it does, I'll know it's out there. If my wife's V2 gets the update and mine doesn't, then I'll reinstall leak V2 on mine and try again. Afterall, none of us really knows what's gonna happen until it happens. Man, I hope I didn't **** myself on this deal. I "resisted" installing a leaked 2.1 on my own personal Eris until last weekend when I called Verizon and they pleaded total ignorance about any software updates for the Eris. That just pissed me off, so I finally installed leak V3 on my phone (I had already installed V2 on the wife's). I'm anxiously waiting to see how this all shakes out. But I do hope someone captures the "real deal", so we who lost our patience can still get the new "official" 2.1. As far as the phone being wiped...I've got that down to a science now...not a problem.
LWP
I want live wallpapers does anybody know if we will get them or is the eris held back by its graphics card

The OS version on my AT&T HTC Titan is 77.10.7720.68 Your manual update seems like it pretty easy to do I was wondering if I wanted to try this then roll back how would I do that since your file don't have the version my phone has?
Also, do you happen to know if this new version or any newer version takes care of the random power cycling/reboot that occurs like 1 or 2 times every 12-18 hours? My phone seems a little better now that I uninstalled the HTC apps (except for the HTC version of Tango video chat software since that is made for the Titan) hope that these updates take care of that too.

Hello,

Thank You,

Hey guys,
Just updating you all on this if you haven't already read the Windows phone blog today.
They have mentioned in their blog that this update and the future 'maintenance updates' will fix more than the change log just to maintain any issues raised by the carriers. However, these maintenance updates will only be released to carriers that ask for it. So if your carrier did not ask for this maintenance update or anything else in future you won't get these kind of small maintenance updates. I am going to manually update my phone today as mine is SIM free and my carrier will never get me any maintenance updates.
I will post back if I see anything noticably different. I would however recommend that if you feel confident, then go for manual update as your carrier might or might not have asked Microsoft for the update. The reason I understand is these maintenance updates once applied require your carrier to put their crap back on your phone. Some carriers happily will do it and others will take long time to re-do their crap on the phone, which means you get update later than the world. I do appreciate MS's approach regarding maintenance update, but it's a shame we have some lazy carriers supplying network to windows phone!
I am thinking of doing the manual update as well. Would you indeed be so kind to post the result? I am curious!

I got an update from Zune, but it was OS update only. There was no firmware. Should I restore and try it again?
It'll come later, some have got the firmware and not the OS.
Thanks for letting me know.
I just got a similar reply on Nokia Support. They're being pushed seperately. The user I replied to had received the firmware, but not the OS update yet.
I'll try to be more patient.
I just did the disconnect trick, and it's downloading 8107, will report what firmware I have when it's done
---------- Post added at 09:42 PM ---------- Previous post was at 09:18 PM ----------
Got 8107 + new firmware in one go
Tried the disconnect trick when the last update was being rolled out but wasn't working. :S I thought they fixed it?
Clearly not
Also, MVNO's are better supported now, my phone shows Giffgaff instead of O2-UK, not seen that in a while!
I'll give it a go.. Hopefully it works this time around.. Any tips?
Took me about 5 goes to time it right. Best tip is preserver I guess. I also turned flight mode on as I read that helps.

+1 to this. took a few attempts, worked in the end
Just managed to get it updating. It's getting new Windows verison, not sure about FW tho, will have to wait for it to finish and check.
Any noticable improvements yet? I know it's too early though
Mine only said Windows version, but firmware was included too. Auto-brightness seems better, diagnostic app contains more stuff. Charging now to see new capacity.
I just flashed back to 11451 via NCS, then forced the update through Zune.
I got both the OS update and firmware (8106.11500). I'm hoping this firmware is the answer to all our battery problems. Full charge capacity is sitting at 1483mAh. Will post back if it starts to drop (like on all the other firmwares)...
T-Mobile USA Zune Force Update Worked..
Flashed and have joy now..
Like others mentioned above, battery capacity reads 1481 rather than 1517; so was this the correction I wonder?
Will have to see how it performs over the coming days.
Autobrightness seems to work MUCH better; that alone will conserve some power.
Going to close down my system and go home now; I am curious if Bluetooth will be any better. I have a Nokia J - works better than non-Nokia, but have had to re-pair it a few times due to repeated connection dropoffs. Want to see if A2DP will work now. And of course, will try the camera to see if there is anything else good there (in spite of prior reports..)
Cheers
[1st Edit]
Ok, so far BT is holding together but we'll see.. I'll have to see if the belt holster throws it off. Still no A2DP though.. Podcasts, music, and Nokia Drive voices still play through speaker and won't route through headset.
[Edit 2]
Camera.. Nuts.. Spoke too soon. At work under fluorescents.. No pink spot. Came home .. Under halogen, spot is still there unless I use flash. So looks like nothing changed after all except the focus default setting (whoop dee dee... )
[Edit 3] Bluetooth seems very stable.. Going to try now with a non-Nokia earpiece..

[Q] AT&T 1308 update ETA - Edit: Now apparently...

It seems other 920 varients have an available 1232.5957.1308 updates from nokia. It supposedly has bug fixes and camera improvements. Unsurprisingly, the AT&T varient is notably absent, and I'm on AT&T, and I am a fan of bug fixes and camera improvements. While i'm sure there's a reason for the absence, i'm certain it's not becaue its not ready for public consumption. So I ask, WTF AT&T & Nokia?
What is the ETA for AT&T's 1232.5957.1308 update?
If you know how to use NaviFirm to get your updates, its now available through there. In regards to an OTA update, only AT&T knows. But one would think that it showing up on Nokia's update servers means its coming sooner rather than later.

You gotta clear your cache, in case you haven't. Otherwise NaviFirm always pulls data from your cache, which could be days old.

Yes.
If you want to simply update and retain your current data that isn't backed up, you need to wait for the OTA.
Navifirm will erase it all and start you from scratch (or from your Windows Phone 8 cloud backup).
I've already installed it, I used the nokia updater.

Brand New Touchpad update App Cat and All udpate Fail

Hi,
Just bought a brand new Touchpad 64 GB. after created new sign-up, connected to Wi-Fi (no issue with connectivity to Internet).
after booted in, the Touchpad detects there are new updates, App Cat, Office, and few more. Tap on Update All, after downloaded each app to update, it shows 'Installation fails' or Update fails - all of 4 updates one by one. Therefore; it will not be able to install any additional from App cat, besides those that already installed by manufacturer.
Any one has this experience in their new Touchpad in recently? Maybe HP has completely discontinued the HP Touchpad services?
Any idea ?

You have to set your date back to like July 1 or something like that than download. And if I was you I'd install android on the touchpad. Way better experience plus more apps for the touchpad

Thanks it did work after changing the date back to Jul-01.
------------
I dual boot with Milaq CM10.1 nightly build. However, I still need to boot into WebOS from time to time, especially when I am on free Internet such at the Airport, Starbuck, McDonald, because only VPN in WebOS works (The VPN in Android CM does not work, it's a known issue. But the VPN in my Samsung Android works.)
Glad it worked for you man. I was getting frustrated with that one day too and I googled around and found out if you change the date back you should be able to download. Sucks that the support for webos is dying but there's suppose to be something by the Phoenix team ACL. The only thing bad about that is your going to pay well over $30 to get it and I mean its like all they're doing it for is because of the money. They reached well over their quota to get the project started. I know all other developers would be like donate to here but have the download for free because sometimes people ain't got the money at the time.
