For those who pc companion/repair does not work, and I was one ever since I unlocked my bootloader, it maybe the pc that you're using that is the problem.
I installed pc companion on another pc, and in the process of checking that it was ok, one thing led to another, I clicked on repair knowing it won't work on my phone....well it did!
Surprise and joy turned to surprise and 'what have I done???' as I watched everything get wiped, when it didn't need to be.
But it's all up and running again with a super clean install
To be honest, I've read about doing this here, but I couldn't see why it would work, but it did.
It's certainly worth trying if your phone is bricked, good luck
Sorry to hijack but this thread seems to be the most recent on PC Companion issues.
I have a Xperia S, flashed with flashtool to the latest generic firmware. I want to do a repair with PC Companion to ensure updates will work once ICS is released. PC Companion recognizes the device and presents the option to repair. I choose this option, everything works fine until it begins to flash. Then PC Companion states "There is no firmware available for you rphone. Please try again later"
Here is a piece of the log where fail occurs.
09:34:41,86 [PhoneUpdate 12/03/20] CWizFlash failure detected
09:34:50,59 [PhoneUpdate 12/03/20] CWizFlash no firmware available reported.
09:34:50,63 [PhoneUpdate 12/03/20] Add statistic: Function: Phone Repair, Completion status: Fail, Error: No firmware available
Any suggestions??
Did you do what the OP said worked for him? I have read in other threads that using a different pc allows repair. Just uninstalling pc comp does not work. Try new pc.

Hi, I can't help you much without leading you astray, but maybe you have the wrong firmware, I've had that problem before. But more importantly, if you have a Xperia S then maybe you could check the Xperia S section.

Got it sorted.
By the way I have multiple posts in the Xperia S section but did not have many users experiencing my issue since the device is fairly new. Had an X10 prior to the Arc and Arc S so I figured I'd visit my old stomping grounds.
What are the steps you followed ?
Launch PCC, repairmode, then connect in flashmode (As in my guide "How to use PCC") ?

Try to restore option in SEUS/PC Companion, and update it from there.
If that doesn't work, try installing

After downloading files and update process, it shows a message that update failed.
I disconnect the cable and now the phone is not booting. It stuck on the following screen. Error picture attached. This is my first Android phone. Pls help me...
try updating your phone by connecting it again to sony ericsson pc companion , it should mostly work , if it fails flash the .ftf file from this thread using flash tool

arunrv could you exactly tell me what you did to work the phone ?
because i have the same problem as you
I downloaded "update service" software from Sony website.
Download it and after installing, launch the software.
The software will guide you to how to connect your phone. (Initially don't connect your phone)
Software will take care of rest of the process.
Regards,
Arun

Thanks it works but a little unstable. because first i tried 2-3 and it gave me an error on both ways (factory settings or just update) by the way i tried many diffrent ways then i tried again with se update service with factory settings and it worked.
I think the problem is root. this version doesnt love root and my phone was rooted. if anybodys phone has root first remove it then update urs phone.

Download firmware ftf file and simply flash it from flashtool.
Or use wotanserver.
Sent from my MT15i using XDA App
Hello,
I do not wish to annoy anyone. I seek some help. Before posting and mostly before doing anything with my phone I read all information I could find.
Unlocking bootloader (hardware and official way), rooting, the autoinstaller for CWM. The flashtool, the wotan server, SEUS.
Yesterday I've upgraded my firmware via PC Companion to .62. However this unrooted my phone and I wanted to go back to the old firmware so
I flashed it with WotanServer
After this my phone didnt start and after the SE logo a sign with excalmation mark and phone appeared.
Please, help me. Tell me what should be my next step. Can i fix it myself? Should i pay to someone in the local shop with neon advertisment to fix it?
Please.
Anton.
Download SEUS (Sony Ericsson Update Software), and repair your phone with it.
I got same problem with WotanServer, SEUS solved it.
@tomassz82,
can you point me to a working link. All links that I have for SEUS redirect me to a sony support page?
I also forgot to mention that I have done a backup via CWM but I don't know how to restore it as I can't go into CWM anymore.
Ok. Fixed. Thank you tomassz82 for the hope
For future reference: SEUS is an outdated piece of software.
Sony Ericcson PC Companion is its successor.
Intially PC companion fails to recognize the device because it's not turned on completely (by completely i mean booted to the Android).
I restarted my computer. When I connect the phone and start PC Companion somehow, seemingly at random it still doesn't allow to update but it will recognize it once or twice and offer repair. Do it!
Wipe personal settings bla bla..
I could not manage to repair the phone with PCC, but SEUS worked like a charm.
@tomassz82
Which verions of SEUS are you running and where did you downloaded from?
Gentlemen, I couldn't find a section for Xperia Pro, please excuse me if this is misplaced.
I rooted my MK16i from ICS 4.0. according to a guide here on XDA forum, with no problems (from 4.1.a.435 .. i think).*
Then I installed system tuner and backed up the bloatware and what I believed was obviously named as packages that support them. Things were working great and the phone gained some performance improvements.
UNTIL, I installed Viber and Skype, and niether were working. I thought I would fix it by restoring all the backed up services and apps. Once I did that and rebooted the phone, it became useless
THe phone keeps rebooting. I get to the XPERIA loading screen and then it restarts again
I tried to connect it to the PC to flash another ROM with the Flashtool, but it is not recognized. All I get is in the computer screen a removable disk drive, that is not accessible.
Note: I didnt update the firmware after I rooted.
Can anybody help?
have you worked with flashtool before ? because there hardly could be any wrong with flashtool. use the latest version with proper drivers.
and since you have rooted phone, have you unlocked your bootloader ? if yes, then flash any custom kernel, go to CWM, then place rom zip on sdcard and stright flash rom via CWM.
flashtool should work though. you can try on different computer.
If flashing a kernel or installing custom ROM sounds a bit out-of-reach, you can always go for the repair option in PC Companion. It worked for me when I had soft-bricked my Neo V (it wouldn't go past the SONY logo). However, be advised that this repair option will erase your phone's internal memory. Also, your phone will be brought on the latest stock ROM, so you will need to root your phone again.
Good Luck!!! :good:

I tried to do somethingn like this but sony companion itself cannot detect the phone either.
My question is, is there a brick that cannot be fixed? I took it to a shop today and still they cannot fix it.
Have you tried to use sony update service?
How are you connecting your phone to flashtool?
Can you show us log from flashtool?
New development:
Now I tried to flash the phone with flashtool 32bit rather than 64-bit and it detected the phone! I could even flash the only firmware in Aeonworld's post Here.
Now I can see the phone connected in my computer.
However, the phone still won't boot but when I power on it gives black screen and after a short while, the led on the side becomes green.
For some reason though, I cannot continue with the rooting steps in his guide.
So anyways, after the second reboot, not the first for some reason, the phone gets detected in PC Companion, and I installed the update and now it is working again :victory:
Thank you all for your support.

Good to hear that bro!!! R&D always makes a man better
Hi all,
I tried several times to repair my phone with Sony Companion after flashing a different region. Unfortunately, it doesn't work, as it stops with the message to prepare the phone and need more than 50% energy. If I try to repari it with the flash mode, I get following error:
UEUpdateFailed UE_200

As it seems that I am not the only one with this error, I started this topic.
Does anyone have a solution for it?
At risk of breaking things further, have you tried Newflasher?
Newflasher works, I did also an update with it.
But making a clean install with Sony Companion doesn't work.
months ago i've tried the Software Repair with Xperia Companion (on 5 II), but it doesn't work. The phone shut down during the process, and of course everything fails. The same with 10 III.
I think SONY seriously needs to upgrade Xperia Companion or, why not, give the community another software for updates/repair on Windows.
