Try updating to the latest version of Clockworkmod Recovery. The recovery is what is responsible for displaying the charging animation when you are charging a phone that is powered off.
Use the Recovery posted here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=23319202&postcount=200
Don't update through ROM manager. Do "fastboot flash recovery file.img" from command line while phone is on the fastboot screen.
man you are the best!
a very very very big thanx for you!

I'm having a problem with my girlfriend's Evo 3D. I did the HTCdev unlock method and then used adb to put superuser and team win recovery.img on it. I used the phone on its stock ROM for a day. Next I used ROM manager to flash clockwork recovery. This morning I decided to go with the Team Win recovery. I tried to flash a sense 4.0 ROM and now I'm stuck on the white HTC screen. Can someone tell me what to do?

Im guessing the phone is CDMA S-ON ( next time incude this info when asking question makes it easier for people to help you ) and with all sense 4.0 roms has is known issues about S-ON devices not booting or going into boot loops.
I would install a working rom then instal 4ext recovery with smartflash on.
This could fix your issue.
( Even if your phone is GSM and S-ON this should also fix your issue so make sure to click on the right link below.)
CDMA: 4EXT Recovery Touch
GSM: 4EXT Recovery Touch
I just wanna add one more thing, don't try to flash via rom manager, it's gonna ****ed up your phone..

So, I rooted my phone last night and ever since I've been stuck in bootloop. I loaded one rom and it was in bootloop all night until the phone died. I charged the phone up, wiped it and tried another, stuck in bootloop for hours with nothing working. Now, the bigger problem is, I - being an idiot - forgot to do a nandroid backup so there is nothing to restore too, yet when I set it to factory settings it's once again stuck in bootloop.
All my phone now displays is the green HTC logo on the white background, until the phone battery dies.
So... how screwed am I?
EDIT: CDMA, S-on, 1.50, I used HTC dev to root it.
Did you root with HTC dev. You need to flash the boot.IMG using fastboot.

CDMA, S-on, 1.50, I used HTC dev to root it. CM 9 Nightly.
Do what I said. Boot your phone into the boot loader. Select fastboot. Stick the boot.IMG from the Rom you used into the folder on the pc that you used with htcdev.
Connect your device.
Open up command prompt. Navigate to the folder in command prompt where you put the boot.IMG
Type fastboot flash boot boot.IMG
If it works it will say so restart your phone and enjoy.

If you hadn't said anything I probably would have been running around in circles for the rest of the day. I just did and I'm waiting for it to restart right now. Hopefully it works.
Hopefully it will work. If you flash anymore roms you have to do the same flash boot.img using fastboot since you unlocked with HTC dev.

Meaning I can just nandroid backup this rom? Or do I have to reflash it then flash the new ones over it?
If you want to flash a new rom do a nandroid backup first and then wipe everything. But everytime you flash a new Rom you have to flash the boot.IMG seperatley that was supplied with the Rom if that makes sense. This also applied when doing a recovery.

Unless the boot.IMG is automatically with each rom that does not make sense. However, if that means (which I pretty sure it does, I just need that extra clear clarification) that a new boot.IMG is supposed to be supplied with every single new ROM then that would explain why my phone is still in bootloop. No changes since last time I was on, about an hour ago I took the battery out and restarted it.
So it's still in bootloop whenever I try anything.
Help as well...
Stuck in the same problem. Hboot 1.50, S-on, and I'm trying to load Evergreen's CM7 port. I'm also using CWM 4.x (can't remember number, just the non touch version). Whenever I try to start my phone all I get is the white HTC screen with the little vibrate, then the black screen, and then the HTC screen once again and so on. I've tried flashing the boot from the file and then flashing the ROM with and without the boot.img in the .zip file. Help me. Please.
You need to flash the rom first then restart your phone load in to fastboot and flash the boot.img using fastboot. Search the forums there should be a more detailed way on how to do this. But its pretty much the same instructions I gave in previous post.
Try following this if your struggling.

If that last reply was meant me, I've already tried that. Doesn't change anything at all.
Ah ok you mentioned you flashed the boot.img first that's all
Also try formatting your sd card or use a spare one and format that and then flashing the Rom and boot.IMG. I had to do that with my desire s.

You can boot into recovery without a computer. Just make sure Fast Boot is turned off in settings. Then boot into boot loader (you hold either volume down or volume up when turning your phone on)
Or if you have harmonia installed you can just hold power down and then choose restart and then recovery.

So long as fastboot is unchecked in settings then I can boot into TWRP? If so please give step by step directions.

So it looks like my Evo was not s-off. I tried to flash a custom rom but I get stuck at HTC bootanimation
I don`t know how to solve these problems...
the phone has currently a unlocked bootloader (HBOOT 1.53.0007) and CWM Touch installed.
And it is still S-ON
I want at least go back to stock rom, so that the phone is usable again!
can somebody please please help me??
Thank you!
So all u need is to reLOCK bootloader with command "fastboot oem lock" and run official ICS ruu file.

right now I can do nothing... Phone won't charge or turn on
My bootloader is unlocked and CWM is installed (I think thats why its not charging when turned off)
CWM has charging bug. Pull out the battery to make sure the phone is off. then plug in the charger and put back the batteries. Does the red led light up? Dont power on the phone until it gets charged a bit.
Did you do the steps i PM'd you yesterday? the ones regarding boot.img?
wipe data and flash a sense rom. then extract boot.img from the rom zip file and place it where your adb and fastboot files are. then boot into bootloader and select fastboot. It should say fastboot USB in bootloader. then use this command "fastboot flash boot boot.img"
then just reboot phone

I'd recommend you try and get a custom rom to boot if you cant run RUU. Try Viper3D. Its known to boot on 1.53 hboot for most people
AW: [Q] bootloop, s-on, can't install other Roms!
Thanks for your help mate but I sold it now to a guy that has on other charged battery^^
But again thanks for your help

Hi Guys,
I have S-off, Super CID and Hboot 1.93 was working fine with the 4ext recovery and a Nighmare ICS ROM.
Today I just accessed the SuperSu and it asked me for binary installation.
one was normal and other was from CWM/TWRP. I choosed CWM/TWRP method. Since then I can only See HTC Screen.
tried using reflashing of recovery same 4ext and also tried the TWRP 2.3.
Nothing Seems to be working. When i restart in a normal mode it goes to the Nightmare startup HTC screen and it again restarts back to white HTC screen and there after I don't see movement.
Is it possible that it can be bricked in S-off mode ?? or what has really happen.
Now I can only access bootloader, Please do help me, what should I do. I have been trying using the All in one tool..
