Hey folks,
recently there rumors about a hidden NFC chip that will be enabled with a future update. However WMPU is not really known for their trustworthy sources and articles so it seems unlikely that the Lumia 800 sports a NFC chip.
I took this article and rechecked some teardowns and rechecked the known chip specifications. As you can see in the Picture below, the device is equipped with an Broadcom BCM4329 chip.

According to the Broadcom product specifications this chip supports both receiving and sending via FM. I contacted Nokia wether this Feature will be enabled or not but I did not receive an answer to my question. Has any of you guys checked with Nokia regarding the FM capabilities?
The Picture below was labeled "unknown chips". Has anyone an idea about the functionality of those? I'm just curious Maybe WMPU is right and there is NFC hidden somewhere

Maybe true, Nokia's probably holding there guns as many are saying that NFC may not be so revolutionary as they say, it just may be a major flop. I mean really how easier and different does NFC make things, just make's your mobile phone more expensive to thieves and more vulnerable to security flaws. It's just another headache.
why would they hide it ?

Maybe because the current OS dosn't Support NFC. NokiaHelps gave a very inconclusive answer via twitter

They look more like power regulation chips than anything related to wireless.
Many phones have chips that are capable of FM Tx, but it doesn't mean it can be enabled.

yeah man, i had to use a magnifying glass to see the serial of the wifi card and the touchscreen, anyway, i believe the only thing that limits the CWM is the hardware and i have the id, i just need someone to confirm it.

Yes is very simple FM but we need to fix this error
So.. yet another of my exploratory digressions
Munjeni already got "FM part" of radio to work on CM9* here (and it wouldn't surprise me if the apk on the top of this thread had something to do with it)
As with FXP's try (officially merged into CM around Feb2013) also added and mentioned back in those pages though, audio output was broken.
Seemingly STE hardware audio blobs had broken routing. I'm not sure why usual shimming around working stock libs couldn't be a solution, but still.
*and others in AOSP 4.1
After giving up for a year then, discussion resumed on these pages (and onward)
But for as much as the best minds were at it (and ADM sources were available!), it just so happened those days, that hell was breaking loose between kk breakage of omx, bluetooth .. and cm going bonkers with QA.
Furthermore so called "ST-Ericsson/Sony Proposed Android FM API" had been dropped out (purportedly because long story short, at the end of the day it was only producing results on fuji board Xperias)
With (I think) most of XDA jumping into the qualcomm FM bandwagon (and we also have a nice open app nowadays!)
And AFAIK switching to that (i.e. V4L?) become eventually in god 95A31's plans.. till dropping his dev thread for AOSX first, and then eventually feeding up with everything altogether later.
I'm not sure how much is left of all these brainstorming attempts in that rom code, but at least in this and this repos a lot of juicy lines remain for anybody to get inspiration.
Also worth investigating if any similarity with BCM early 2012 phones helps (since they should support both STE and BCM api - the latter having an open stack)
/me is also also intrigued to think TI-based 2011 line seems to have comparable routing problems
Meanwhile, on google side, they too added something to AOSP, but my educate feeling is that it's mostly for MTK-cradevices
What else?
Updating to 3.4 (is there a time it wouldn't?) could really help thanks to igloo sources (and firmware?).
Don't forget in a perfect world, even transmit pin should be exposed. EDIT: except this isn't, and QCOM recently dropped transmitting tho
And you can read late Mike Reid talking about testing endpoints.
Last but not least, I found some invaluable datasheets yes one is hdmi but idk where else to post it

Yes, that does indeed look like "China Export"..
In case someone doesn't know this about this, here's Conformité Européenne Wikipedia article.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CE_marking
At the bottom of the page is some info regarding it's misuse along, among other things "China Export".
Here's the difference.
I'm pretty sure it says made in china right on it.

Of course it says, so did the original CC. Or actually the original said "assembled in" where as the 2nd gen says "made in".
But that's not the point, the "CE" mark on it is not the CE mark.
I took a look at my original Chromecast and it uses the proper CE mark which indicates it complies with EU legislation.
If you can't comprehend why that matters, I'd suggest looking at the meaning of it.

Mine just arrived today, there's an update to begin with, spotify works fine
can anyone confirm if the ac is connecting 1x1 or 2x2. i heard it was 2 antenna . also 3rd smart antenna. The max bit rate if ac router is connecting .
Mine's connected at 433Mbps if that's any help.
That's 1x1 on 80Mhz channel. Pretty much what I would expect given the info.
Youtube - "Google - September Press Event 2015" < Goes to 54m00s

Anyone tried the "dead boot repair" for SM-A500x with success?
When you use a working phone of same model to write bootfiles to external sd with Odin, then transfer it to dead phone for boot repair.

Same phone apart from the bootloader so thanks!
And no, fortunately I haven't done it.

does anyone here can give me a link to download stock rom marshmallow for my Galaxy A3 (SM310F), not from samsung website cuz it's totally slow speed.. pretty thx so much for anyone who help me out..
There are updates on service manual SM-A310F? Because the list of parts on the battery has the initials GH43-04562A while retailers Samsung officially found only GH43-04562B. Now the type B is compatible and has the NFC?

Hi. I havn't looked it to that so I have no idea about different battery models or updated manual. This was all I could find.
It does seem to be inside battery for A310 model, while the A510 & A710 have their NFC antenna outside and can be bought separatly.
There's not much to find about it when I googled it.
Does anyone with and sm-a310f have a color change on the screen when at a certain quite dimm brightness?
Also, if you tap the phone, is there something rattling?

Yes I've seen the color change. I had a gray wallpaper that turned almost green with very dimmed screen.
I think the rattling noice is from the buttons getting in contact with the metal frame.

Does xz1 support Galileo?
i just contacted sony support to ask and I was informed by the assistant who checked the white paper for the device that Galileo is unsupported. Shame.
Actually it does support Galileo sat's, just checked with GPS status app.
It should, the chipset certainly supports it. The Sony webpage doesn't list it, tho.
Device supports it too

Is no xz1-owner here who could try it with an app like gps-status or gps-data+ and post a screenshot? Both apps show if Galileo satellites are used or not.
Couldn't get lock on any Galileo satellites.

Galileo is supported and working. Just the galileo satellites do not appear as often other ones. So they are used rarely anyway.
